We are getting married in Disney and were looking for somewhere to have a quiet, romantic and enjoyable meal on our own with no children! I have had a look at a few menus but I prefer personal recommendations. We are staying in Port Orleans but we don’t mind travelling within Disney or just outside. I had a look at V & A menu but it really put me off, I am sure it is lovely but I don’t drink and I am not a fan of seafood and it looks a bit picky for me; I tend to stick to things I like such as steak, pasta, chicken etc. Any thoughts? We have only ever eaten TS at Rose and Crown in Epcot! Very adventurous! :rotfl2:

Bistro de Paris in Epcot is a good choice. It doesn't have a child's menu, and is pretty expensive, that that tends to keep the clientele mature and the atmosphere romantic.

Bistro de Paris, although is WONDERFUL and Kevin and I would and plan to defintiely go back is NOT a QUIET place. Accoustically the place is very loud.

You'll have a hard time finding quiet at WDW. Typically, busy places aren't quiet (at least not in the manny you appear to be speaking of), and all the good places at WDW are busy. Your best bet is off-hours, when these restaurants aren't busy. We had dinner, practically alone, in Citricos, with a seating just when it opened.

unless you want to pay big bucks at a place like victoria and albert's, it's best that you go offsite.

I think that the restaurants are WDW can be noisey with that bustling sort of atmosphere.....I do like Citrico's, although that can be "bustling." Maybe you could ask for a window table and if you are there early, as Bicker said, it can be quiet then.

I remember when we ate at Artiste Pointe, this is going back some time, it was rather quiet. Has anyone had any experience with that lately or is that restaurant as busy as others??

And of course Victoria and Albert can be quiet in that sort of upscale ambiance but the check is sort of upscale as well. I have not eaten there for some time and when we did we took our children, they were well behaved and were dressed up for the occasion, but it was a long time ago. Been there once and have not gone back type of thing..

Good luck and hopefully some with have some Disney ideas for you..

Does the restaurant have to be in a park? Dh, dd, and I really enjoyed Jiko's at AKL. The food was fantastic and the wine list was extensive. It wasn't noisy.

Best Wishes for a lifetime of happiness!

Maybe I am just being fussy; I know that Disney is quite busy and loud. I should have thought about what I put before I said it! More of romantic atmosphere than quiet just don’t want screaming kids in my ears; I have that every day at home! I would love to eat at V&A, money isn't an issue being our honeymoon but the menu isn't to my taste. BISTRO DE PARIS sounds lovely but again the menu - lots of fish/seafood.
HELP!
Citricos might be an idea though - Menu looks lovely and I adore the Grand Floridian, nice setting for a romantic stroll.
Thanks for all your help :sunny:

I would agree with Jiko's or Artist Point. I felt Yachtman's Steakhouse was somewhat romantic/quiet; but we were in a corner which worked for dw and I.

Artist Point with a later ADR. Usually, AP doesn't have a whole lot of kids anyway since it's a signature dining restaurant, but a later ADR makes for even fewer kids, as well. Plus, there is the Cubs' Den right on WL property which helps keep the numbers of children down (we use it with our daughter). Ask for a table next to a window for a wonderful view onto WL's lush setting. The menu isn't huge, but is full of wonderful fare, expertly done and plated. They have excellent appetizers, salads, and a smoky portabello bisque that is divine. The berry cobbler is a fine choice for dessert, and the coffee is some of the best on site. Service is exemplary, and if you let them know it's your honeymoon, I'm sure they would recognize it with a bit of flair. After, take in the grand lobby, stroll around by the pools, the beach, and the nature trail. It can be very romantic. . .and relatively quiet. Congrats!

Don't count V&A out so quickly. The menu changes daily I believe. Whatever is fresh at the market and whatever mood the chef is in dictates what you get.

My wife and I went on our honeymoon trip and really enjoyed it.

We both had elk for the main course and it was absolutely wonderful. There weren't alot of seafood options either on that particular evening.

That being said, it is quite expensive and I would hate for you to reserve it and then show up to swordfish and clams.

Don't know if there is any way to find out in advance what the chef will serve on a particular night.

Uncleromulus might know. Shoot him a private message if he doesn't show up to post here.

Actually there are the standards, that remain on the menu seasonally. The menu does not radically change on a daily basis. Mostly has to do with veggies and the like. Also the fish offerings would change based on availability.

There tends to always be a choice of beef or "red meat", a "game" or poultry and a fishy course for the main meal.

There tends to be a wide variety of choices, I think you can find plenty to eat that might stretch your taste buds a bit.

I have to agree with Camp Rd Lady here. I have been to Bistro de Paris and it was quite loud with a lot of children. The food and service were not very good as well. Emeril's seems like a good choice. Have you thought of Bluezoo? If it's a must to stay on disney property, the most romantic restaurant I have been to is Jiko.

BISTRO DE PARIS sounds lovely but again the menu - lots of fish/seafood.
:confused3

Well, for me if you ask at checkin LeCellier can be queit (calmer atmosphere, not a lot of light, and because of the 'cellar' theme, its darker ) just ask for a queit honeymoon table!!!

I've never thought it loud in there!!

I found just the opposite. The place is so cramped that you cannot help but hear every word that the folks at the next table are saying, and the general din is so much worse because there are so many people in such a small space without much softscape to absorb any of it.

If you get a reservation later at night, Palio can be very romantic and quiet. If you are a ADR too early, it has more families and people there on business. I've heard yachtmans steakhouse is pretty quiet..even though its not the quietest, I think San Angel Inn is so romantic (request a table by the water)...and my little tip which I am willing to give out: Get the first ADR of the day and have a romantic lunch or get it at an odd time like, 4:30.

If you are willing to go off property (I-Drive) there is a very nice hotel called The Peabody and they have a very nice romantic restaurant there. I forget it's name. Also, downtown Orlando has "Manuel's on the 28th" which is..on the 28th floor, lol. It's one of those places that people go to for special things like anniversaries and such. I definitely suggest it :) Another date place off property is Seasons 52. It's located on Sand Lake Rd.

Have fun!

There actually are a few good places at WDW where you can have a nice romantic meal. On the top of our list are:

Artist Point (Wilderness Lodge) - try for a seating after 7:30 or so for a quieter atmosphere. Afterwards, take a nice stroll through the courtyard and along the lake. Wait for the gyser to go off on the hour.

Yachtsman Steak House (Yacht Club) - again a later seating time is preferable for a quiet atmosphere. Very nice meal with great service. Ask for Oscar to be your waiter.

Jiko (Animal Kingdom Lodge) - a very 'grown up" kind of place with a very adventurous menu.

Bistro de Paris (Epcot - France) - this upstairs place us a notch above the food you would get downstairs in the Chef's de France, and the service is quiet and reserved.

I would suggest Jiko in the AKL resort. It is our favorite place to dine at WDW.
The atmosphere is very adult and it's never really that loud even with kids present. Afterword you can take a stroll outside to see the animals.
