My boyfriend and I are going to Disney world in October. Given the shortened park hours, picking the right resort is even more important since we will be spending our evenings for the most part at our resort. These are our choices:
Polynesian standard view studio, Boardwalk garden/pool view studio, Bay Lake lake view studio or animal kingdom Kidani savanna view studio. Is there one in particular that will be fairly quiet? Which is the most romantic?

I, personally, would pick BWV. In the evening, you will at least have the opportunity to walk around the Boardwalk and there are a lot of dining options within walking distance of the resort. Second choice would be Poly as the beach is lovely and you can at least walk back and forth to GF. Of the four you listed, I would say Bay Lake is the least romantic with the others being equally romantic, IMHO.

Thank you. I wondered about Bay Lake. I agree with you.

My husband and I did our honeymoon at AKL but in the Jambo House. I know that's not open yet so that's all I'll mention about that. If you want quiet, AKL is a good choice but here's the order I'd rank them and why:
  1. BWV - location, location, location. Even with some restaurants closed this is still your best bet for dining and bars. It doesn't hurt that you can walk to Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
  2. Poly - My favorite theme. I like that you can walk to GF for dining. Not sure if walkway to MK will be open but if it is that's a plus too.
  3. AKL/Kidani - stunning resort and it has a zoo. It's a magical place and if it was normal times this would have been my #1 pick. Since so much is closed though, there's not a lot to do.
  4. BLT - my least favorite theme and the rooms are a bit smaller than you other picks.

So far, I’m agreeing that Boardwalk or Poly is the way to go. I am leaning a bit more towards Boardwalk as I’ve heard the inn side is not going to be opened yet and perhaps it would be a bit quieter.

The clown pool does not bother me at all. Do both the Poly and Boardwalk have nice quiet pools?

Polynesian has the Oasis pool which isn’t exactly “quiet”. Boardwalk has a leisure pool that was pretty empty when we were there a couple weeks ago. We stayed at Boardwalk on our recent trip and it was DEAD! Hardly anything open.

We are returning September 4th for 6 nights at the Polynesian, our favorite DVC home resort. I personally would pick the Poly. Tambu Lounge recently opened and you have the Enchanted Rose at Grand Floridian. And even a drink down on the Poly beach at night is amazing. I love leaving my balcony door open a night at the Poly and listening to the Hawaiian music playing outside and the palm trees sway... as two adults without kids yet, we find it to be very romantic for a couple!

Wow, that sounds so nice! Between the 2 of them Poly or Boardwalk, I'd say Poly is the prettiest and maybe the theme is more appealing to me
