Anyway, I've been watching a lot of movies lately and I have come to the following conclusions;

- I like romantic dramas.
- Especially the ones based in the past.
- Romantic comedies aren't really romantic at all.

So let's talk. I feel like talking about this. I was going to make a top 5 favorite movies thread, but I couldn't decide on my top 5, and they'd all be romances anyway.

Your opinions? Your favorites?

I love love love romance movies. Comedy or not, I love them.
Some o fm y favourites-
The Notebook <3
Nights in Rodanthe
Message in a Bottle
(Seeing a Nicholas spark trend, here?)
Titanic <3

My favs are The Notebook, Pride & Prejudice, and P.S. I Love You

Oh I adore Nicolas Sparks. I recently just wiped out the library's collection of his books, haha.

The Notebook. I cried like a baby at the end...and middle.
Pride and Prejudice. Just watched it last night for the millionth time.
Titanic is amazing. Again, I think my tear ducts were all dried out by the end of that movie.

There's more I just can't remember. So PS. I love you is good? I watched like the very beginning of it (just the argument part) and then my Tivo whacked out on me and I couldn't see the rest. I'll have to record it again.

I didn't know that all of those other Nicolas Sparks' books had movies. OMG. I think I'm making a trip to blockbuster. (:

I like the Romance movies set in another time. I really need to get my hands on Pride and Prejudice.

- Pearl Harbor (it's got some romance in it that makes me bawl!)
- Pirates of the Caribbean (as sad as it is. I like my romance movies with a bit of action)
- The Notebook.
- Titanic.
- Tristan and Isolde. <333333

PS I Love You did not interest me at all, and Atonement was so boring. I could've watched paint dry and have been more entertained.

You've got to see P&P. It's really amazing.

Haven't seen Atonement, I need to Tivo it.

I love Romance movies. Romantic comedies are bad. They're generally neither. Usually REALLLY not funny.

The Notebook is a favorite of mine.

A Walk To Remember is great, but the book is better. I BAWL AND BAWL when I read that.

Of course I like the Titanic...

Prime is a good romance. It's slighty comedic, but it's so sad in the end...

I think way back when I saw it I liked it : Must Love Dogs

Definitely, Maybe = amazing.

And The Last Kiss was a terrible movie lol. It was SO BAD. I cried just because it was so bad.

Nights in Rodanthe didn't make me cry. I almost cried when he was talking to the man who lost his wife... but that's it. It was kind of a bad movie. I'm sure the book is good, but the movie was bad.

Atonement was BAAAAD. So terribly put together, and so boring. Nice plot, but terrible movie (and book for that matter, the book was even MORE boring).

Just Like Heaven and Titanic are my favourite romance movies <3

I like both romantic dramas and romantic comedys.

Titanic (I watch it more and more each month)
The Notebook, but I don't watch the end anymore. Just up until she remembers that she chose Noah.

Romantic Comedies:
27 Dresses. I love that movie. I can never get tired of it.

I watch a lot of teen comedy movies. Like A Cinderella Story, Princess Diaries (alright, kid movies), She's the Man..

But they always get the guy in the end..

OMGosh how could I forget A Walk to Remember? LOVE that movie. I was actually REALLY looking forward to Atonement, but something told me not to go see it in the theatre. I watched it a few months ago and was bored to tears.

Another.
- Vanity Fair. <33333

Yesyes. 27 Dresses is adorable. There's ONE line that he says in the movie and it's just sooo cute. I think it's right after she's trying her bridesmaid dresses on for him.

I enjoy Romantic Comedies, but also like to get into the more serious romantic stuff like Pride & Prejudice and stuff of that nature.

27 Dresses was cute. It's one of the better romantic comedies I've seen.

I don't like romantic comedies because I just don't feel as much connection between the characters. I like dramatic love stories. <3

OOooh I'm a sucker for a good love story!!!!

Obviously you all know that Titanic is my all time faaave movie lol.
And I LOOOOVE The NOtebook more than anything (though I havent been able to watch it lately)
I actually had never seen the Notebook until this year, because I was always thinking how sad it would be. But I'm glad I watched it, I'm sooo in love with that movie!!!!!!!!

Some GREAT more unconventional love stories that I LOVE;

Lars & The Real Girl

(so weird, but so sweet and lovely)
Slumdog Millionaire
(omg, i cried lol. it better win the oscar for best picture! such an amazing story about overcoming ALL obstacles for love)
Milk
(its mostly about politics, but the love story between James Franco & Sean Penns characters is about the sweetest, truest thing I've seen)
Big Fish
(OMGGGGGG!!!! Such a sweet & beautiful love story!!!)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
(so heartbreaking, it's such a great story about the whole concept of "is it better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" probably one of the best movies i've ever seen!)

I HATE Romantic Comedies, I find them so unfunny and fake. Romantic dramas though=L:love: VE!!

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

I have that on my Tivo right now. I recorded it but I was debating if I'd actually watch it or not.

Now I will. :D

PLEASE DO!!!
It's AMAZING.
sort of confusing, but really, it's an amazing story.
and you are completely connected with the main characters.
it's so good! let me know how/if you like it!!

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind confused the heck out of me. I understood the two characters were in love, but the rest confused the daylights out of me.

Jenny - Is the book of Pride and Prejudice any good? I've noticed that A Walk to Remember in book form is awesome, but not so much with the Notebook.
