Romance movies.

I love love love Pearl Harbor.
The end makes me bawl.

Titanic for sure.
And I consider Enchanted somewhat of a romance, because it just makes me feel all happy.
I actually haven't seen that many...but the ones I have like stick in my mind.
I love them.

I thought I was the only one! I LOVE LOVE LOVE action/romance movies and World War II interests me so this was right up my alley.

Which part of the end? LOL. Like, where Rafe brings out Danny's coffin, or where Little Danny goes flying with Rafe?

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind confused the heck out of me. I understood the two characters were in love, but the rest confused the daylights out of me.

Jenny - Is the book of Pride and Prejudice any good? I've noticed that A Walk to Remember in book form is awesome, but not so much with the Notebook.
I'm not sure. I have the book, I just haven't gotten around to reading it yet. I will update and tell you how I like it.

In general, I find books to be much better than their movie version. As long as I can let go of what I've seen in the movie, otherwise I get all caught up in the differences between them.

ETA: I really want to see the Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

In order:

1. Brokeback Mountain. This is the only movie (I'll say it again, THE. ONLY. MOVIE) that can make me cry. I bawl whenever I watch it.

2. A Knight's Tale. Just...yeah. It's great. (and I'm a sucker for Heath Ledger).

3. Edward Scissorhands. I love this movie to itty bitty pieces. It's adorable and it really shows how love knows no bounds.

4. Wall-E. It's just so cute.

5. Van Helsing. Yeah, so it's not a complete romance, but it's bittersweet. Especially the ending.

OOooh I'm a sucker for a good love story!!!!

Obviously you all know that Titanic is my all time faaave movie lol.
And I LOOOOVE The NOtebook more than anything (though I havent been able to watch it lately)
I actually had never seen the Notebook until this year, because I was always thinking how sad it would be. But I'm glad I watched it, I'm sooo in love with that movie!!!!!!!!

Some GREAT more unconventional love stories that I LOVE;

Lars & The Real Girl

(so weird, but so sweet and lovely)
Slumdog Millionaire
(omg, i cried lol. it better win the oscar for best picture! such an amazing story about overcoming ALL obstacles for love)
Milk
(its mostly about politics, but the love story between James Franco & Sean Penns characters is about the sweetest, truest thing I've seen)
Big Fish
(OMGGGGGG!!!! Such a sweet & beautiful love story!!!)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
(so heartbreaking, it's such a great story about the whole concept of "is it better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" probably one of the best movies i've ever seen!)

I HATE Romantic Comedies, I find them so unfunny and fake. Romantic dramas though=L:love: VE!!

I had no idea what Milk was about before I read this post. I just looked up the plot, and I am SO watching that. Not only does it sound good, James Franco is a babe, and I'm kind of strange and I really love gay love stories.. only with guys though. I just think it's adorable. (There's a movie called Mambo Italiano, and it's mostly a comedy, but I feel for the characters so much there, and it's such a strange frustrating situation).

No.
I used to watch it...all week.
Nonstop.
For a month.
The most sad part was when Danny told Rafe he was gonna be a father. :sad1: :sad1:

But the romance sad part I think was worse when Rafe was talking to Evelyn and he found out her and Danny were together.
You felt SO bad for Rafe, but then mad at him because Danny and Evelyn were in love and thought he was dead.
And it's so horrible all the way around.
Lol.

I love historical movies.

The Patriot too, that was pretty cute.

I've never seen the Notebook. Maybe I will rent it during this break.
But I saw Wall-E last night, and I cried! I mean pretty much every movie makes me cry, but I though some parts of this was so sad. But it was a REALLY great movie overall!

Hilary seriously, it's one of the best movies I've seen all year!!
Not only is the love story one of the cutest I've seen, it's got such a powerful message (especially on the heels of the passing of prop8!)
(and james franco is a babe, and so is diego luna and so is my bf emile hirsch haha)
It made me want to go and hug my friend JJ immediatley afterwards.
It's really inspiring!! GO SEE IT!! :thumbsup2

I love Titanic, the ending still gets me everytime (I remember seeing it as soon as it came on video...and everytime the ending just...gets me).

Elizabeth (and Elizabeth: The Golden Age) I guess have the romantic element in them and they're two of my fav films.

Gone with the wind, while not really a romance film either (though its the main element known bt alot of people) I just love the way Scarlett learns from her mistakes and that she can't have everything but what she did have could leave etc.

Phantom of the Opera (any of the versions as they are all based on the amazing book by Leroux)...the ending always gets me (esp. the book where it was love that slowly killed the phantom).

Runaway Bride was a good film too.

The Man in the Moon
The Notebook
A Walk to Remember
Becoming Jane

Not big on romance films, but...

Enchanted. OMG. I love Enchanted. Makes me sniffle!

The Patriot too, that was pretty cute.

At first I was like "Awe man, Evelyn you totally belong with Rafe!". Then he "died" and I was like "Evelyn, get with Danny. Then Rafe will know you were in good hands". I was really starting to like Danny too! Then Rafe comes back and I was like ***? Then I didn't know who to root for.

And then Danny died. :sad1: I was crying, and it was really bad because I was PMSing so it was a total sob fest. And when Rafe brought out Dannys casket from the plane, I think my heart broke a little. :sad1:

I think the only romance/comedy thing I've ever liked is Jim and Pam on The Office. That totally works. Especially the end of 'Casino Night', I bawled like a baby.

I know, and then with everyone else dying, like Betty.
It was just horrible.

I would've cried but the first time we saw it was at school and I didn't want to cry in front of everybody.
That and when I watched Gladiator was the first time I had to hold back tears at school.

OMG when Betty died I was like "NOOOO!". And when..Billy was it? Whoever said during the bombing "It's a fake. It won't blow" and then it did. He was a cutie.

I loved Barbara and Red though. They totally made me laugh. "Honey, if the government says stick em, we stick em"
