Romance in WDW

I am someone who's been to WDW several times. I've been there as a single and a couple, but I've always wanted to meet someone at WDW and never have. It seems singles are always trying to ride the next ride and get to their next ADR without stopping and looking around at the other single people there. Can anyone relate to this? I'm a single man, 38 yo who's always wanted to meet someone at WDW and take advantage of all the romantic places there!

I'm not sure if you're sad that you haven't randomly met someone at the parks, or if you're looking for someone to visit the parks with. If it's the first, I think it's a little unrealistic, as I too am a solo traveler and have never met other solo travelers while in the parks. I think it's pretty unusual for adults to go alone to the parks, and if you're independent enough to go alone, you might not be looking for someone else to keep you company.

If you're looking for someone to visit the parks with, I've found the solo traveler thread on here to be pretty helpful, as well as some groups on Facebook.

I've never thought of WDW as a place to meet my Prince Charming...geez I've tried everything else...maybe I should take a solo trip and give that a shot!

Nice idea although it does seem like everyone is charging for the next ride etc...I do know the tequila Bar in mexico is where alot of locals hang out , not that I have ever been there

I'm also a single solo traveler. I've never met anyone at the parks but I have met people outside of the parks. Downtown Disney, Boardwalk, etc. I've met people from cast members to business travelers there for conventions, etc.

I enjoy meeting people in the Parks and running around with them. Unfortunately you are not the demographic I am seeking.

well guys I can say that this does happen! i went solo in june of this year and so did my now boyfriend. we met on the boards and decided to meet up so he joined in some amazing star wars festivities with me during star wars weekends. yes i am the star wars junkie not him lol. we hung out for the rest of our trip there off and on when we weren't doing other stuff on our own and our first kiss occurred on the balcony of the contemporary resort facing cinderella's castle cheesy I know.

so then he cancels some flights and stays for two extra days with me and we have a blast. then the logistics come in to play he lives in chicago i live in austin, tx. It is a good thing he has a flexible job because he is now in the process of moving to austin and he comes to see me as often as he can. I am a teacher so I have a less flexible situation.

believe it or not and criticize this part if you want but to me when you know you just know there is an engagement coming even though i dont know when but i can say that I have been instructed to begin planning our disney world wishes wedding for december of 2012.

so excited!

So i truly believe it can happen for anyone

thats is awesome!! and the crazy part is this is happening to me know we meet on the boards and have been fb friends for 2 yrs but he lives in fl and I am in az, but i think that is crazy that it is almost the same

You never know! I am an old bat, and a few years ago, I was solo at Epcot. An elderly man on an ECV pulled up beside me and hit on me! And he invited me to his home in Kissimmee! I was quite surprised! I hadn't been hit on a looong time! LOL (I've been married for decades!)

I didn't think anything could happen either- but I met someone my last trip a few weeks ago. It was towards the end of our trips but we spent a few great days together. And yes- we still talk and just saw each other last night- even though he doesn't live anywhere near me.
So, I guess the key is NOT to look for it. Oh and for the record, it was in Epcot, when I was drinking around the World.

thanks for the congratulations guys! We will be in the world tomorrow and we are staying at the polynesian. It was a last minute trip decision but we both needed a weekend break. anyone going to be around that weekend?
