My dh travels frequently for work, and as such our rolling carry-on luggage has definitely seen better days. Any tips on where to find a good deal for rolling carry on luggage? I'm afraid my bargain ones I got at Macy's last year are on their last legs! TIA!

We got two Heys rolling cases at TJMaxx for a good price. The only thing was they had scratches on them but we didn't care because they get banged up pretty bad when we use them anyway.

Marshalls usually has good deals.

I wish I had gone to Target on Black Friday to get another Wegner bag. They were on sale for $69. I paid $99 for mine at Marshalls and love it. My family doesn't fly too often, but we are going carry-on only for Spring break, so I wish we all had these.

Marshall's, Burlington Coat Factory or Tuesday Morning. Not sure if you have any of these stores where you live.

After practically needing to replace my suitcases after every trip, I am taking a different approach. I am looking for good, and light. It is stressing me out!!!

I ordered an ebags Mother Lode 21 inch carry one and I do like it, though I have not travelled with it yet. It is not as light as I hoped, and while it doesn't matter so much in a small one, the matching 29 inch weight makes an issue when trying to keep things under 50 pounds.

My other finalist is Lipault which is very light weight and could be stored at the destination in next to no space. But, it has only a 3 year warranty and doesn't cover airline damage. Ebags has a lifetime, whatever it takes, refund, replacement guarantee.

If anyone has experience with either the Lipault or ebags Mother Lode, please share.

Travelpro, Atlantic & Delsey are sturdy and you can usually find them on sale somewhere. I agree that you get what you pay for in the long run. :-)

I just bought some great Samonsite Lig(H)t luggage today at Ross. It is incredibly light...even the cashier was like "this weighs nothing!" when she picked up the 29" case. It has a 10 yr warranty, and I paid 1/2 the cost if I had ordered it online.

Check out Costco - I'm always impressed with their prices on Heys bags. My friend got a 3 piece set of Heys from Costco for Christmas. It was a very good price and I hemmed and hawed like crazy over it. I finally decided that 2 30 inches were better for my needs.

I got my Heys from Sears Canada last year - 30 inches beautiful Heys hardsided spinner that's only 10.9 pounds for about $90. It's regularly $239. I ended up buying 2 of them - they were such a good deal.

I bought all of my luggage at TJ Maxx or Marshalls. They have great deals!

Agreed!:thumbsup2 They have brand names and fantastic deals. Usually the luggage is discontinued or slightly damaged(scratched, etc) but in good shape. They sometimes have matching pieces also. I found the Delsey bag I wanted there and then found a matching piece at another store. They are so much cheaper than online or retail stores.

I bought from eBags and Luggagepros but only when the bags I wanted were on the daily special/blowout.

I have also gotten a 22" Travelpro carry on at BJ's for $49. This was my best buy yet!

Just got a set of hard sided luggage (one large, one carryon size) at BJs for $149. Using them for the second time this weekend, love them so far!

Are you a Sam's Club member? I just got a flyer from Sams Club with March deals and they have some Heys luggage on special until March 30:

Heys Router Hardside 2 pc. Luggage Set (22" carry-on spinner and 26" spinner) $79.98

I haven't seen them in person though, but at that price...hmmm. maybe I need some luggage too LOL

Wow... That is a sweet deal. I got my 22 inch Heys spinner from tj maxx 2 yrs ago for $60 and that's the cheapest I have seen it since.

We have 4 of the ebags Mother Lode Mini's 21". I absolutely love them. We have taken them on countless car and airline trips in the last 3 years and they are holding up beautifully. I love the 2 compartments of the bag for staying organized. (as a side-note, I gave my mother one of the bags to use for a trip and she said she prefers bags with one big area, like most traditional bags.) My family is very rough on luggage and the only wear and tear on our four bags is that my son pulled the pull-tab off one of his zippers. But in 3 years, I'm quite satisfied and have recommended them to many friends/family.

While the Lipault is lighter and I had considered it, I opted for the Mother Lode because I got a fantastic deal on ebags after watching the prices for about 6 months. Worth every penny.

Thank you so much for the review! I am going to test it this weekend.

Did yours come with the metal bars to insert in the top compartment? Since they were not built in, I wondered if it was a recent design change. The little piece of paper said they were critical to keep it standing upright and I reacted me to a video on the site for installation. But, the web page wasn't there.
