My daughter, grandson (8), and myself are anticipating this first-ever Disney cruise. Hope to hear from fellow cruisers.

Roll Call Reply:

My husband and I and best friend are also traveling on the Magic Sept 6-13. This is my 4th Disney cruise and 9th Cruise. We have done the Western and two Nassau cruise's with Disney. You will have the time of your life. The food was good the entertainment was excellant and they have a wonderful program for your grand son. I can not wait to take my 5 year old grand daughter with me, but she still is a little to young. We stay at the port for a couple of nights before the cruise, after driving down from RI. I have not started counting down yet, but will be soon. We leave for Daytona, Florida on March 7th for two weeks, and right now that's my count down. After we come home, I will get excited. There are a lot of pointers to get prepared for, and I am sure you have read some of them on this forum. Count the magical days for your first cruise and trust me, you will have the time of your life.
God Bless

Sheila,
Thanks for the info. I feel like a "duck out of water" with this cruise. I have never even been to Orlando, so I feel completely lost. I have taken 3 cruises out of Miami, so I am well familiar with Miami. I also like to go to South Beach, but have never been to Orlando. We just booked air from Washington Dc for the Friday night. We don't know where to stay or anything. I wonder if the Disney transfers are the best deal? I always found the taxi in Miami the better deal than their shuttle bus. But since this is such a long distance from the pier, I don't know what is best. I have plenty of time to research though, and I will. Are the rooms nice on DCL? I hope they are big enough. It states that they are 215sq, wherein the other cruise line room was 185sq, so it is bigger. My thing is that I am an active grandma, and I hope there are things for adults to do. The funny thing is that we are not telling my grandson that he is going. We are telling him that we are flying to see relatives. He won't know until that day! I will have the camera right on his face when he sees where we are! Everytime I go on a cruise, he asks me if he can go. This will be the best. My daughter and I can't wait to surprise him.
Thanks for responding.

Hi Again,
There are a lot of good pointers on this forum, but if you want to
chat back and forth while we wait for the months to pass, feel free to e-mail me. I do believe you will have NO problem finding things to do for the adults. My husband and I, found plenty to do. DH loves to sit by the pool and catch the sun, myself I like to be busy and I was busy all the time on all three Disney cruises. As for --before the cruise, we stay at the Radisson at the Port. Nice place-nice pool---nice rooms and a great breakfast buffet the morning of the cruise. One thing I did think of is, your grandson
could wake up and you could take him to the back of the Radisson
and look out to the Magic at the Port. Just a great sight the morning of the cruise. That would make a good way to surprise him. There are so many good things about this cruise and I am sure we will all have fun again. I have friends who have taken the Bus to the Port and loved it, but I drive and get there early, so I have no advice on that subject -sorry-.

There MUST be someone else going on this cruise. I only know of 3 other families. Wow! Keep this up and we might get the Walt Disney Suite:D :) ;) Yeah, right! Anyone else?? Come On!
Let's get this party started:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

bump...
Anyone yet signed up to cruise with us?:)

Hi guys!

We are also booked on this cruise! Looking forward to it, this will be our 5th cruise and have #6 and #7 booked as well.

Dan

Dan,
Don't you guys have another cruise booked before the Sept. cruise? This is interesting to me, because this ship must be awesome for you to keep going back so much. There must be lots of fun things for adults without children to do on this cruise ship. What I notice is that large porthole . I have been comparing it to other cruise lines, and there is no doubt that the DCL porthole is much larger than any other. We are too ready to party.:D

Incharge,

No we do not have a cruise before September, however we are cruising just 4 weeks after getting off in September with a bunch of our friends that we meet on board 2 years ago (look at the 10-11-03 thread)

We love the ship and always find tons to do and see.

Dan

We'll be there. DH, me and our 2 DS's (2 & 4). This will be our 3rd DCL, but 1st 7 day (other 2 were 4 days). I'm bringing my mom (1st cruise ever), and she's in her glory - as am I - babysitter!! DH & I will be able to see a part of the ship we've never seen before - the nightlife. I've also convinced my friend, her DH and DD (4) to come with us. The pressure's on me I guess, but I'm not worried. Disney will come through. We're staying at the Radisson the night before, and renting cars from Avis. Maybe we can have a mini-meet at the Radisson pool?

Woobie

We will be on the Cruise as well. It will be my DW (27) and myself (28). We will be celebrating our 4 year wedding anniversay. This will be our second Disney Cruise but first 7 night cruise. We did the Land and Sea Package for our honeymoon. We had 4 on land and then the 3 night cruise. On the cruise we never made it to Castaway Cay because of Hurricane Floyd. The Hurrican destroyed the pier, so we were re-routed to Key West instead. I can't wait for Sept. 6th!

What we can do is have a "roll-call" as it gets closer to the time we cruise. Maybe get to say hi when on-board.
Woobie.. we won't be arriving until midnight on the 5th because of work, so we are staying at the Days Inn (newly renovated and $39 w/AAA, which works just fine for me because we are only sleeping a few hours). Their shuttle will pick us up at airport and take us back to airport the next morning where we will take the DCL shuttle bus to the ship. I wish I did have time to stay at the Raddison. Sounds nice.
Congrats xnascarx2.. Again, it makes me feel good when so many young people are enjoying this cruise. This makes me know my daughter will also have fun.
See ya soon.

Have never been to Key West, so we are looking forward to that. Will do the sky tram in St. Thomas, because you must have pictures from up there(beautiful) and probably walk around alot downtown area. In St. Maarteen we liked the little beach right near where the boats dock. We will walk around there and shop a little. There is a little bar there called "Every ting Cool" that was good for sitting out relaxing on the beach. At CC we are going to do the bike rental w/ snorkling. We have never snorkled, so we would rather do it there. What about you?

We (me (31), DW (31) and DD(turns three on September13th) will be there as well. It is our 6th Disney cruise, and my 8th cruise. I think my daughter has to be in the running for most visits to Castaway Cay before turning three. She talks about "Mickey's Boat" (yes, I know it is a ship but cut her some slack she is only two) daily, so I think she has a good time. This will be her first time in the Oceaneer's Club, so that will be something new.

Incharge - unless you know something I don't, we will not be sailing to Key West. Just the other three islands. Don't worry about that though, I think sea days are more fun that port days, which is why we chose the eastern route again.

Since we have done these ports before, we are going to do two day trips on our own. In St. marrtin, we are going to take a ferry to Anguilla for the day. In. St. Thomas, we are going to head over the Trunk Bay on St. John.

Someone mentioned the best way to get to and from the airport to the ship. We are renting a car. You can get a midsize for about $50 a day. Both Avis and Budget have offices at MCO and near the port, with shuttles running to and from the port to thier office.

Just a little over a month to go...I cannot wait.

We are considering doing the Dolphin/Sting Ray Encounter in St. Martin. We are not sure yet about St. Thomas/St. John. On Castaway Cay we are going to take it easy and just do some snorkeling and just relax on the beach. Any recommendatations on what to do in St. Thomas/St. John?

Sfed,
You are so right!! I am mixing up my trips! We are going to Key West on the 9/2004 Carnival Miracle cruise trip. Boy, I can't navigate 2 trips at one time. Oh, the horrors of it all:)
