We had the late seating last cruise and thought it was too late therefore reserved the early this time. Now we're switching back to the late "just in case". The thought of 3 middle aged women having to be ready for dinner by 5:30 is a little daunting. We need a little more primping at this age! LOL.
Has anyone starting packing yet? You guys have gotten me so excited that I already have the suitcase open in the spare room and have started throwing things in. But I am currently in a panic as I can't find my birth certificate. I didn't put it in the proper place last year when we returned. I am sending for another copy just in case!

I am really looking forward to this cruise. It will be our first.
My sister and her husband and my Mother are going with us.
We are taking our 5 kids ages range from 22 to 14. We will be staying on deck 8.

I was getting a little discouraged. My Mom and one of my daughers are flying and I had purchased their airline tickets with Vanguard who announced last month they had filed bankrupcy. 2 weeks ago I found out that the Carribean hotel we will be staying in prior to our cruise is not going to be open. So there were more plans that had to be changed. PHEW!! I hope we are home free now.

Never the less I am soooo excited about this trip. I have been counting down since 454 days before we leave. I was excited to see that there are a few others from Colorado that will also be on the cruise!

Mickey02: Welcome! Please join us for the sailaway party on deck 10 forward (I am bringing bubbles) and our wine party on Sunday at 2 PM, deck 7 aft. We are all bringing wine to share and ordering something from room service to bring to the party.
Please -mail me your info ( cabin #'s, names of all in your party, and any excursions) I am printing it up and handing it out at sailaway or the party.

I was reading one of your posts it caught my attention because my family roots are in Ohio. I love going to Amish country! and have been to Cedar Point a few times. Beautiful place.

Mickey02 HI! Welcome to our thread! Kind of a DIS family going on here. (DISfunctional??? OK, we are ALL Obsessed!!!) Where in Colorado??? Sandy and I should be getting another lunch date together, and I'm now thinking a bon voyage party is in order! Maybe we could get something organized if you are near the Littleton area. Actually, wow, 5 kids and the whole crew. You ARE a party to begin with! IM me, OK?

I'm off to clear off the guest bed and start laying stuff out for future packing!

Hey, do any of you seasoned cruisers know if the gift shops sell a patch of the Magic. I'm trying to design some t-shirts for the kids to have autographed, and I'm not the 'best' artist with the fabric paints. I'm thinking that DCL might not sell patches, but just want you to buy the $20. dollar shirt.

We were staying at the Caribbean also, but have now moved to the Wilderness Lodge for the 17th and 18th, how about you.

A Bon Voyage party sounds really fun!! I would love it!
We live in Colorado Springs but could come up to Littleton. My son is in the airforce and lives in Georgia so we are picking him up on the way. We will leave for Disney on Oct 10 and arrive in Orlando Oct 13. We are spending the next 5 days in the parks at Port Orleans. It is a trip of a life time as I call it. I have already started packing! Tiffany my 14 year old has told me many times she is sooo glad I am so Mickey crazy because she loves the trips. I am thinking of getting in the Disney Vacation Club. Any thoughts?

Welcome Mickey02. I am a returnee to these boards after a few years away. YOu will enjoy them but look out because this is a chatty bunch! LOL! This thread has been going on since April I believe.
I am trying to get Disney dudette # 2 & 3 to sign on but as one of them says "we're computer illiterate" Dudette # 2 can't figure out how to print!

Ooooo - Oct cruisers' are starting to get documents! That's about two and a half weeks for us now. I don't even really know the significance of getting the docs, I'm just excited because other people cheer when they come! (Well, OK, they no doubt contain very important paperwork for getting on the ship, right?) They will certainly bring a reality to this whole wait. I became sure that it wasn't all a dream when the credit card bill came the other day.
I just realized that Ben doesn't have a snorkel! More shopping for off season items!
I'm getting some Pino Noir and a mystery bottle for the cruise's party. My neighbor is a Wine Distributor and is always getting samples of wines that smaller wineries want him to try, in the hopes that he'll except them into his company and distribute. He tries one glass, then walks the bottle over to a few of us neighbors (fortunately, we all have different tastes, and he knows which neighbor to take the bottle to, for 2nd and third opinions.) It's so funny, one time he showed up at my door with the whole 'towel over the arm' pose, and tells me all about the wine, where the grapes were grown, under what conditions and latitude, a description of the result and what foods it will go with best and during which part of the meal. Then I proceed to drink it while snacking on the kids' Macaroni and cheese! LOL Anyway, his wife said they'd come up with something good for me to introduce everyone to, at the party.

Haven't seen any doc yet except for the ones that have the excursions in it. Once they do come I will be unbearable to live with. I have been planning and counting for the past year and a half.

I have been trying to decide what excursions to do. To many choices! My sister is thinking about parasailing. Not me I am a chicken.

I tried to get into the Cinderella Royal Table charater breakfast. I got up 2 days in a row before 5:00 am and still did not get a spot I finally gave up!

We booked our Disney stay through Dreams Unlimited and were able to get all of our priority reservations, INCLUDING Cinderella's Table for my 3-year old.
I'm not telling you this to rub it in, but we have been very pleased with DU's reservation system and diligence. You might try them next year.

I just had to try my new counter for the cruise so bear with me. We are trying to figure out how to pack gowns. Any suggestions? Has anyone ever used the steamers in the laundry room?

Humm, I hadn't heard that there were any. Just sad old irons and the line behind them. Packing the gown was one think I kept in mind while shopping. The one I think I'll go with (if I stop gaining weight) has beads sewn all over it, and wont show wrinkles. I saw a post recommend having the dry cleaning service do the steaming/pressing for you, right away, so that it's back on time.

I think we will have to go with the dry cleaning service the day we arrive. I have one that will need it. Semi-formal night I have one that is more casual and will pack well. It's just the formal one. A polyester satin type material. I think I will try packing with tissue paper and hope for the best.

Thanks, I thought I read somewhere about steamers but I guess I misunderstood. I'll be prepared now.

Wait, I've never even been ON the Magic, so don't listen to ME! Someone else jump in here, IS there a steamer in the laundry rooms? I know that I've read that people bring their own to use in the room. The discussion was on their safety, compared to irons in the room which could burn furnishings, etc. I kindof got the impression that there wasn't a steamer for public use, but I don't know it for a fact. I wonder if the bathrooms seal up enough to run a hot shower and just hang your clothes in there for a while? Oh, I've got to go add that Wrinkle Releaser Spray to my shopping list!

Hey, I finally got that guest bed cleaned off, to fill back up with stuff to pack! Think I've borrowed a mask/snorkle for DH to use, too. YeeHaw, this is coming together, huh?

Sandy, the kids are going to use those lanyards you gave them for their name buttons, and Disney pins... (they'll find out about the pins later... shhhh)
