Wow! Glad to hear your dad is doing OK. My dad had angioplasty with a stent a few months ago.

If plan A fails, everyone is invited to our cabin. We can just spill out into the hall like a dorm party!

We just booked our May vacation at the Old Key West resort. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Sorry to hear about your dad, Lori. Glad they caught it when they did. Hope he is doing better. It is deck 10 that we go to when we take off, right in front of the basketball court. DCL told me that the excursions can be booked no earlier than 8-20. Going camping, will check in with all of you on Sunday or Monday. Have a good weekend. Sandy

Sorry to hear about your dad, Lori. We will keep him in our prayers. There is nothing worse that planning a big vacation, and worrying if everyone will stay healthy while you are away. At least this could be taken care of now, and you were able to be there. It is still SCARY.

We have received the info for the excursions too. I am not sure what we are going to do. My DD wants to go to the Butterfly Farm on St. Maarten, but I haven't heard too much about that. I think that I will start a new thread and ask for some input.

We are getting excited..........

Laurie

Lori, I hope your father is doing well. It is so scary when a parent gets ill.

Llight has joined our cruise. I urged her to join our thread.

Hope all are gearing up for a good weekend. We are lying low, getting excited for vacation. Go for passports today for David and Clare.
Paying final payment tomorrow, yet to see excursion docs.
Hey, we got the neat AMEX package, anyone else?
Been reading about it and would like to compare notes (if any) with someone on OUR cruise.

Talk with you soon.
Krista

Oh, Deck 7 sounds good, 2pm Sunday sounds good, green on embarkation sounds good. Can you tell I'm in island mode.
LOL

I just orderd bubbles and tropical glitter tattoos. They should be available for sailaway and the party. I don't think that the 10-12 group could possibly use them all.

Olando: You still need to e-mail me your info for the handout. See previous post for subject matter.

Hi guys! Saw your post to Llight Krista, hope she finds her way here as she has a 4 yr old boy and 6 yr old girl. We'll fill up the kids clubs yet!

My prayers and thoughts are certainly with you and your family Lori. I know how hard it is when they go for a test and the next day are in surgery for something more serious than originally thought (went through that when my dad - yes, the one joining us - went in for a colonoscopy because he was tired and anemic and his colon was totally blocked with cancer and had surgery immediately. Very stressful. (He's been "clean" for just over 2 years now - yeah!) I ended up flying to St. Louis, sleeping in hospital chair next to bed, Greg took a weeks vacation to watch the kids (that's when Annika, then 13mo. broke her leg - "but I was only in the bathroom for a minute while she was in the high chair" LOL) Anyway, I certainly hope it all works out for you.

Denine, I have princess tatoos (there's 32 on the roll) but don't think the boys will go for those :p BTW, did you happen to see the points chart for DVC's chartered Wonder cruise? NOT impressed in the least!

Just remembered, I have bright green capris (from St. Patrick's day in Savannah last year), should I wear them Sat. at embarkation? Might be a little embarrassing but MAYBE with the right shirt????

Still no shore excursion info but that's okay........

Hi Everyone

We can't wait to go on Cruise!
My 10 year anniversary is also on Oct 24
We would like to do something special
Like dinner with no kids
Do you have to pay for these extra restaurants
like Palo's? Are their any other costs incurred
like Drinks, tips,
What about the excursions, are they worth it?
Any suggestions?

Thanks, My Emails LLight4871@aol.com
LLight

Welcome Lauren and family: We are having a sailaway party on deck 10 forward (so we can see the dolphins). We are also having a wine party on Sunday at 2 PM on secret deck 7 (all the way forward). We are each bringing a bottle of wine and some munchies from room service. You need not be a wine drinker to attend. Please join us for both! If you would like, e-mail me with your info (see a previous post). I am printing up a listing of everyone to hand out.

Disney6: We got the SS member cruise info yesterday. We were excited at first. But, since we are sailing the Veendam on 1-18-03, we couldn't go anyway. I can't believe they are charging more for the cruise.

Hi Everyone
For anyone who is interested!
I being a FL resident have been to
Disney about 30 times already and
have stayed in most of the hotels on Property!
The Animal Kingdom Lodge being the latest -
It was AWESOME to stay their. The buffet dinner was fantastic.
Book only rooms over the Savannah and ask for feeding areas
or in front of lobby. The pool has a slide into it and
Thier is camp fire at night with rocking chairs around it.

The contemporary is a bit older but great for parents with
small children if you book garden room on north (closest to park)
you can walk on a side walk straight to the entrance of
Magic Kingdom this saves at least 30 in parking and monorails.

The one that is not worth the cost is Grand Floridian
Too pricey and nothing exciting, except they did build a
water playground before this summer.

The moderate price one are fine. I stayed at Coronado
Springs the time before Animal Kingdom. It was fine
but the walking was endless. It is a big property.

The newest rage off property are the Holiday Inn Kid Suites
Some are themes, some even have Playstation.

The not so scary Halloween Party is OK but rememeber
not all rides are open, entrance is limited. Go the day of the
party and the park is empty because everyone waits til night.
Wear kids costume all day. At dusk they hand out bags of candy on the walkway to the contemporary.

The best character breakfast is Cindarella Breakfast
Book 60 day before start calling at 5 to 7:00 a.m. booked by
7:05 a.m. Best buffet is Crystal Palace.

Any questions, just email me LLight

Wow Lauren, you get around! LOL
WELCOME!

Just an FYI, the "Deck 7 Secret Verandah" is all the way AFT on deck 7. All the way forward is OUR room!!
No excursion info yet, here. Too busy to read it anyway.
Monday, my world will change ... really.

Oh, Denine, since you are handing out the Handouts at the "wine meet", and your room is the back-up location ... where's your room? You probably mentioned it, and I forgot.

SEE ya, girlfriends! Lori

I decided to change my cat to 5
We are on Deck 7 too Closer to Forward
inbetween the forward and mid elevators.

I read list of excursions

We are going to book the submarine ride
My husband and kids that is!
I don't think I can handle it!
But it sounds awesome

The other excursion that sounds cool is
Swim with dolphins
But it seems a bit pricey

I went through them on the Disney Cruise Line
site listed under excursions, you can book them
60 days in advance which I think is Tuesday.

Lauren, have they added a swim with dolphins excursion to Disney or were you looking at doing it on your own? We haven't gotten our shore excursion info but I certainly don't remember a Disney sponsored dolphin swim? Thanks.

When I was e-mailing back and forth with the guy from Anguillas Dolphin Fantaseas, he said they were working on contracting with Disney. Maybe they did it! Even doing it with Shoretrips.com was pretty pricey. It's all those extras involved with getting there that makes paying someone else to be in charge, a little more worth it.

Still no excursion info, but I did get the confirmation from my TA that the payment is final. Yippee ... I'm BROKE now! :bounce:
I'll call Tues. and try to get the AM Golden Eagle Cat. Everything else I think we'll just wing-it on. Is the Bannana Boat ride a must do?

Yes I read about two different ones
but I think one was Nassau and one was Freeport
Can't remember if they were at St. Martin or St. Thomas/St. John
If you...
Go to DisneyCruiseLine.com
Click 7 day cruise
Shore Excursions
And.. each location such as St. Martin/St. John
Click on that and it will give all shore excursions
for that location and price and number to call to book it
Lauren

Our cabin is 6011, almost all the way forward. Deck 7 should be available though.

I just looked at our shore excursion guide, there was nothing about swimming with the dolphins, so if they have it, it is not printed.

Just got the e-mail from DU that we can book shore excursions now.
Happy, happy
Krista

Denine, let's hear it for our deck, we are #6128

Welcome Lauren! Wow, you guys were sure chatty over the weekend!!!! Oops, I did say forward for the deck 7 verandah. It is definitely aft. Sorry if anyone got confused!! Hope your dad is doing better, Lori! Okay, are we the only ones on deck 5? Last time we never passed anyone in the halls. It was sooooo quiet--might be again. Time is sure passing by fast now. Getting really excited now after my daughter got her docs. No excursions for us. Peace and quiet.
