I forgot to say....Way to go Ben!!!! What a good dad/husband. All the women will see him doing that, think what a great dad and buy a bunch and the men will feel sorry for him and buy. He will probably break all sales records.

Regarding duct tape....I don't get it. Why would everyone tape everything up? Don't they realize that all houses are vented and therefore bring in fresh air from the outside? How about a big plastic wrap to cover the entire house then duct tape?

WE CAN"T GET SNOW!!!! At least not until Saturday afternoon! HELP! Just my luck!

Still no word on when I start my new job. I am getting a little anxious here.

Sandy and Lori- Can I go to lunch also? I love the Cheesecake Factory! Have some Thai Chicken Pasta for me please!

Have a good weekend all

Happy Valentine's Day! I love you all!

BONNIE: You are welcome to use the Jeep but you will have to drive me to work on Saturday morning at 6:00 AM & pick me up at 7:15 PM. If you are willing to agree to this you can truck aroound in the 4 WD.

I can tell the duct tape owners live on the East Coast. I already have a "Plan" - we will go to the basement (only two windows), plastic (already precut) applied to windows & cellar door held with duct tape. I have water, radio, battery operated light, etc. in the basement. Maybe I am paranoid but I am old enough to remember hiding under my desk in grade school for all those "tests". In those days the Russians were coming.

Hope you all have a fantastic Valentine's Day with your honey and a great weekend. Toodles  :earsgirl: JEANNE

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

We decided yesterday to go to our daughters in Texas...Leaving tomorrow so have a lot to do today....I had made plans with a friend to scrapbook all day and I had to postpone before so I am going to go....so I will have to work like crazy when I get home.

And then of course there is our annual dinner on Valentines Day at Country Buffet....they give free meals for couples married over 50 years and Dick loves free things...lol. He is soooo romantic!! But he did take me out to lunch yesterday...

Yes, Sandy you can just send me an order if your daughter wants anything...either mail it or send an email. We will be gone for about two weeks....hope she doesn't need anything sooner.

Try to stay well and out of trouble while I am gone...I will miss the wine tasting party so you can see why I said stay out of trouble....rhigt bonine....lol

Happy Valentine's Day!

You're too funny Mom...... Linda has a computer so you can join the wine party from there.

Thank you all for your well wishes about my son......it's been a very strange experience for me because even though he was hardly hurt, I keep thinking about how easily it could have been the worst day of my life. He told me that when he unfastened his seat belt he just fell so I'm praying that he is convinced of the necessity of one......always. I want to hug him every time I see him now.

We need to set a goal of having everyone of us and our families well at the same time....for at least a day! :p

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!!!

Sandy& Lori- I am scheduling the 19 of Feb off at 10:00.
Just let me know where to go for lunch!

Patty- Thanks again for taking care of the girls. They made it
safe and sound in Texas about 3:30 my time yesterday. They made really good time! Missy must drive fast like her Aunt Patty!!

Lori-I was cookie Mom too. It was quite the hassle but I am glad I did it. Jaymee ended up being on of the top sellers in the state that year. So it did have it good side!! We never went out of the house without cookies. I sure was glad to see that cookie sale coming to an end!

Everyone have big plans for tonight?

I like Patty's idea. Our goal is to all be well at the same time. Can it be done?

Have a great time Sally.

Jeanne, I remember hiding under those desks! Do you remember anything about being TIMED how long it would take you to get home from school? I remember the school let us go and then our parents had to report how long it took. I am not sure why. Yes, I do have water and canned food downstairs.

I am in TROUBLE and there is nothing anyone can do. I am watching Regis and Kelly and they are having a Live wedding on. Tears are welling up in my eyes. What am I going to do at my own daughters wedding? I know that I am going to make a spectacle of myself. And to think, I will do that twice. I am sure our other daughter will follow soon.

Vows are next. Gotta go.

Sandy, I married off both my daughters (one of them twice, but that's a different story) and let me tell ya....take a whole box of tissues and set it in the pew ahead of time.....you'll be glad you did. I teared up at the bridal shop when they tried on their gowns. Their Dad was worse than me though.....he cried at their dance recitals :p

I watched the wedding on Regis & Kelly today too. I am also addicted to "The Wedding Story" which comes on four times a day on TLC. I only have one daughter to marry off but my 21 year old son is a lot closer to getting married. He has had the same girlfriend for over a year.

Just checking the boards & checking in. I wanted to see if Bonnie took me up on my offer.

Toodles
 :earsgirl: Jeanne

Jeanne: My son has had the same girlfriend since he was 16 and he will be 23 next month! He always said he wasn't getting married until he is 40 and I'm beginning to believe him. Darn! I bet him $500 that he would be married before 40.....he must remember that but he was only 9 then..... I told Brittany (his girlfriend) that I admire her endurance.

Barb, I found a note from Jaymee during lunch that she left on the coffee table (tells you how often I go in the living room). It said thanks for letting them stay and all. Then she said "oh yeah, I borrowed a towel. Please don't mind. give back when we come again." She's so cute.

I finally made it to the boards. I don't know if AOL is having a problem or what, I got here through internet explorer.

Sorry Julie and Garry, dinner is over, but it was a great success. The menu was Chicken Chevre (chicken with herbed goat cheese wrapped in puff pastry), herbed green beans (fresh) and savory red potatoes ( thinly sliced, mixed with herbs and baked). I didn't make dessert because Jerry brought me home chocolate covered strawberries yesterday and we are having cake and stuff at Kaleigh's party.

Patty: Glad to hear your son is OK. Hopefully he learned his lesson and whill wear his seatbelt from now on.

Krista: I am so sorry to hear about your friend.

Lori: Hang in there!

Bonnie & Glenn: Have a great weekend!!!!!!

Sue: Have fun!!!!

More snow coming tonight. They are talking 2-4". We are already over our season average and our city is running out of salt. They are only salting hills, curves and intersetions and it shows.

Thanks Jeanne but it looks like I won't need it. I would have driven you to work since I will be up then anyway but 1 to 3 isn't too bad. I am renting a car as you know my bomb wouldn't do at all! I just have to get to 21st and Market...taxi from the train I guess. Too bad...You could have seen Glenn!

Mom...I got the catalogue today but haven't even opened the envelope yet. Thanks! It doesn't matter what the meal costs. What matters is that you are together over 50 years!!! Have a safe trip to TX.

Sandy-do what I did...I paid to have my make up done and then when I walked up the aisle ...My son escorted me to my seat...instead of giving him words of wisdom I kept saying over and over "make up, Make-up, make-up...." It worked! Of course the rest of the day was a blurr...I think I zoned out from that! LOL!

Lori-hope you are having a quiet day/night at work.

Patty-happy to hear your son is doing ok. What a miracle!

Will introduce Glenn one day this weekend...otherwise see you Monday or Tuesday!!

Denine, I, too am having problems getting on the boards through AOL 7.0. I was trying to figure out if it is my computer or AOL. With your comment, I bet it is AOL.

Bonnie, have a terrific weekend. We will be thinking of you. No, we won't call.

I have already figured out the box of tissue trick but getting from her to my seat has me confused. I know that it will start up in her dressing room. My face turns red and blotchy. Not a pretty sight. Patty, I cried when she tried on dresses, too. I then set her off and then her sister. On top of that we were taking pics and it made Ted a little teary. When I cry, I can set the groom off, too. Oh my, I am not looking forward to that disasterous day.

Happy Valentines to all. Hope you are having a glorious day.

A quick post from me. I am trying to get my bag packed for the weekend. I am leaving early in the morning. Supposed to be rainy all weekend but I don't care. I'll be thinking of you all from Myrtle Beach!!

Later!

This will be my view - except add rain!

Nice view Susan.
It was raining here in Colorado today. I was walking to my car, leaving work and it turned from rain to snow, right before my eyes. It took about 7 seconds and was such a kick to see. Kind of magical (OK, I know it's just science). Very cool. And the moisture! Oh baby, we'll take it!

Sandy, when I couldn't get on for 45 min, it was a message from the DIS boards. They were doing maintenance. (I've found it faster to link over to Internet Explorer sometimes too, Denine.)
Cheesecake Factory? Yum! Thai chicken pasta? Oh yummmmm!
I've never been to a Cheesecake Factory. It's a PLAN! What end of the mall is it in?
Katie and Ben (and Cody) did SO GOOD today. Two other kids canceled and one was a no show, so Katie did 6 hours, another joined her for 2 and one other for 3 hours. Those little girls sold 148 boxes plus $38. in donations to a woman's shelter.
Ben didn't buy any duct tape. (OK, so I do have some N95 respirators in the medicine cabinet) He did loot and pillage a K-Mart nearby that's being closed, however. "But honey, what does it matter if we needed these things... look at all of the money I saved!"
Work was downright pleasant today. I'm on call this weekend (full moon weekend as always) so it ended up being a longer night, but that was OK. It all went smoothly.
Ah, it's nice to feel human again. Thanks for holding me up there guys.

Hi Everyone! Sorry I didn't get on until now. The Big Guy has gotten the bug back!!!!!!!!!! AAAHHHHH! He get sick in bed last night and was up ALL Night! I slept on the couch (or let's say I tried to sleep on the couch) until Garry came home for "lunch" around 5:30am. Then I went back upstairs. Until 7:00am when The Big Guy got up again. I felt so bad for him. All he wanted was to be held. Every time I set him down he cried. He FINALLY fell asleep on me around 12:45pm today. At least for 2 hours. He has had a rough go of it. You should see the black circles under my eyes! I know, the why the **** am I up now? Who knows! I guess my body is telling me that I have deprived it so long of sleep, that I will have to live with big dark circles under my eyes. Not to mention that I have one of the worst sinus infection that I have had in awhile. Oh well, that's life!

Lori, tell Katie and Ben WAY TO GO!!!!!!! They get big time points for doing such a great job selling those cookies.

Denine, I got your email, but by the time I read it, you had posted. Sorry I didn't post sooner for you! Have a great time this weekend and take LOTS of pictures!!!!! I can't wait to see them. Maybe we can finally get together next week or weekend.

Bonnie, HAVE A SUPER D DUPER TIME this weekend! Tell Glenn I said HI and have a fabulous weekend!

Sandy, I cry at commercials so I thought for sure that I would lose it on my wedding, but I didn't. My tip for walking down the aisle was to look straight ahead and just over the tops of the heads of those in the church. I know it is different to be a mother of he vride then the bride, but it helped me! I did get choked up when we placed a rose on the alter for Garry's mother and the minister said a prayer for her ( she had died of cancer when Garry was 28). No one knew we were going to do that and it caught everyone off guard. After the ceremony even his father said he got choked up with that gesture. You will be fine! Just when you think you are gonna lose it, think of.......................... THE BIG GUY drinking wine off the deck! LOL

Susan, hae a great weekend! We want to hear all about it she you get back!

Take Care everyone!

Just a quick good bye....getting ready to leave....it is 5 in the morning....probably be about 6 when we get going. We will be back the 23rd as Dick has to go to work the 24th...

See you all later...be good.....well try to be good!......lol

Glenn's flight has been cancelled so now he will get here 2 hours late!!!!! Not good weather! I hope he makes it in! The later it gets the worse it gets!! I never thought I would say this but...
I HATE SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talk to you all later from snowbound NJ

Hello to all.

EVERYONE STOP GETTING SICK - ENOUGH ALREADY!!!

Bonnie, I am so sorry for you, I hope Glenn can get in soon.

Julie, all i can say is yuck and get some sleep.
