:bounce: :bounce: HAPPY BIRTHDAY GARRY!!!!! :bounce: :bounce:

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!!

Today we will be going to John's sister's house for the annual Landaal Family Christmas. Just picture the Walton's with lots of hors d'ouves and a moderate amout of alcohol.....:jester:

First we will be going to church at 4:00 to the Childrens Mass. Kristen is singing in the newly formed youth choir this year. This is a big switch for us - we are normally midnight mass people. Just think we might get to bed before 2:00 AM!!!

I told John last night that we are checking into group rates for the "reunion cruise" -- he is very excited. John's sister might be interested in joining us..... The dudettes would love her!!!

Katie -- We LOVED the poem and it really put us in the holiday spirit!!! Keep them coming!!!

Take care everyone and I will be checking in tomorrow.

I guess I'm now the #1 Lurker! I can't stand not reading what everyone is up to though........

Garry: Happy Birthday To You!!! (You should be real glad that you can't really hear my singing) :p

Mom, I can't believe you think that Barb and I used to "kiss up" just because it was Christmas! We did all that just because we loved you ;)

Oh, so sorry honey, I was sure it was the season.....heehee

Either way, I wouldn't trade either one of you for the million dollars we would have if we hadn't had you.....lol

And I am proud of you for being able to keep your gift a secret from your kids....thought you would give in and tell....but then you always did take after me on the good stuff.

oh, and by the way the one bad thing about you is you can't spell...even your own name and I have the birth certificate to prove it.

Now mother......my birth certificate says Patricia and we spell that the same way.

Ken can't believe I kept the secret either......

Garry: Are you trying to bully me into some cookies??????????? It won't work I tell ya!!!! Loved the squirrel!!
All right...if I hear you have been good from Julie, maybe I'll save you some cookies...maybe, if Jerry doesn't eat them all! At least you have some cake to tide you over.

Sue: Glad to hear your dad's disability was approved. My dad retired on disability several years ago. He has MS and has had a heart attack. Jerry's dad retired on disability a few years ago due to a number of reasons. It is always a relief to get that approval.

Katie: Great poem!

The scarecasters. oops, I mean forecasters are at it again. Yesterday they were saying 1-3" of snow by tomorrw. This morning it was 3-5", now it is 5-8" by tomorrow morning. Don't they know we have to drive all over the place tomorrow???????????????????????????????????????? I hate snow and winter!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait till our Disney trip next month!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bonnie: Stephanie definitely lives in Fairview, NJ. I know she is very close to NYC. She can get to Yankee stadium very quickly. Her boyfriend and dad had lunch at the World Trade Center almost everyday. She lost a cousin in the bombing.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did anyone miss me this morning?????

My alarm didn't go off until after 7AM. I usually wake up before it goes off at 5:30 so I knew I was in trouble when I saw that it was light outside!!!

Denine: So sorry to here your friend lost a cousin at the WTC. It was a horrible day that day. I miss living closer to NYC but still manage to get up there at least once a year.

Darren: Congrats on your DOC's!! Is there still time for me to go too!!! Say hi to all! Ohh!!! Tell Cristophe that the Dudettes say hi also!! He was a terrific Head Server the little we had him!

Garry: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Mom and Patty alias Patty- Good to see you back to the old stuff!!

Have a Merry Christmas all!!!!

I had to share the poem I did with another co-worker. It was sent as a notification about what our department did for Christmas to the company weekly newpaper. The Sr. Director sent it on to the VP who then sent it on to the SR VP! We were surprised to say the least! Here it is...(not as good as Katies though)

The Month Before Christmas
Written by Millie xxxxxxx and Bonnie xxxxxxxxx

'Twas the month before Christmas, while meeting one day
The team came together in a special way.
Ideas were flowing this way and that
Oh what do we do besides just passing the hat?

We debated and discussed till blue in the face
What can we do so the meaning of Christmas does not get
displaced?
With choices in hand a decision was made
To give Christmas to a family who required some aid.

Now three weeks before Christmas our fears were allayed
As a call to the Salvation Army was made
We were given a family of four
And now went to work shopping the stores.

Our teams worked hard,
for just the right gift
but shopping is not hard
when love is the gift.

The dad was a challenge,
but we rose to accept,
a coat, clothes and shoes,
were found without sweat.

The mom, too, had asked
for a coat, and clothes too,
again,
we agreed,
this we can do.

The children they had, a girl and a boy,
made a list asking for clothes, shoes and one toy
So little we thought for ones so young
We had to make sure we got everything done.

The team gathered their gifts in what seemed like a flash
smiling, singing and hoping at last
to send off our treasures
and dream our own dreams
of reactions, sweet with laughter
and hope supreme.

The call came at last from our driver named Dave,
a jolly young man who appeared so brave,
his purpose was clear as he stated to me,
"I will be there soon to take your bundles and flee."

He was happy to know so many cared
about families with needs of someone to share
and as he placed the bundles into his van
he turned and said thank you with a wave of his hand.

The team returned feeling happy and warm
about sharing a feeling that can only reform
the hardest of times from dark into light
ensuring for our family a very good night.

Merry Christmas Eve Afternoon. Been very busy putting the final touches to everything this morning. Now all I have to do is dishes and dry my hair. Not too bad. I can see an end.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GARRY !!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Laurie, our married friends were both diagnosed with diabetes and are able to control it by diet. They lost a lot of weight and still watch what they eat. Both are doing great. Isn't it odd that both got it at the same time? Anyway, our prayers are with John. I certainly understand diabetes as it runs wild in my family. My mom has it and uses insulin. They just handed over to her full control of her insulin. She has been difficult to adjust to the right level but they trust her and she can use what ever amount she feels she needs.

Susan, great news for your dad. I know how important it is to hear that the disability has been approved. Just wanted you to know that my dad had pancreatic cancer and was told 2-3 months left to live and he lived for 4 years. Don't always believe that length of time.

Thanks for the offer Sally. That was so sweet. Remember-I am in the Springs A LOT during the summer. You probably shouldn't have offered.

YEA, DARREN GOT HIS DOCS!!!! :D  Don't forget that it is soon to be Christmas and you can open your gift. It isn't much but we wanted you to know how much you mean to us.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL !!!!!

Merry Christmas Everyone,

I am stuck here at work and trying to be happy about it!
I have had to work on Christmas Eve every year since I have
worked at Progressive which would be 5 years!! But am I bitter
No way!!

Ok now that is out of my system. I am going over my DVC paperwork. How exciting is that!!!! I am a member and I even have a #!!! I will be on the phone Jan 30 to book my New Years vacation for Dec of 2003. I'm sure I will be working on Christmas Eve so I had better get New Years off!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!!! :D

Barb

Guess what I got today Bonnie.....your post card from DW....thanks.

Just got home from lunch with my husband and he even went with me to pick out a bra....he must be full of the Christmas spirit or was drinking when I wasn't looking.

Have a good Christmas eve and keep an eye out for Santa....
hear he is leaving anytime now to make his rounds.

I am not trying to be happy anymore!

I want to go home! Free Barb, Free Barb, Free Barb !!!!

Very busy at work this morning but finally slowed down a little when the discharges started leaving but still about 20 patients on the floor and another 12 in L & D.

KATIE: Loved your poem - keep up the writing.

SUE, PAUL & TURNER: The picture reminded me sooo much of the cruise & seeing the three of you that night.

SUSAN: So glad your dad got his "special" present but he was more then entitled to it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY "OLD" GARRY!!!!!!!!!;) ;) ;)

Have the happiest of holidays everyone. Pies are in the oven!

Toodles  :earsgirl: Jeanne

BARB - in case you are still at work, I am thinking about you!!

Just back from my Aunt's house, a big feast and lots of family fun. We went to 4:30 mass and then to her house. I worked 'til 1:00 today so it has been a long day. As soon as Turner gets to sleep, Santa should arrive. I can't wait to see his excitement and happiness in the morning!

Hope Santa is good to eveyone. I doubt I will be back on til late tomorrow night then back to work for me on Thursday!

You all mean so much to me. Have a very, Merry Christmas to each of you and your families! And to those working like Barb, special wishes to you for time with your family!!

Kaleigh slept through church. I just had to hold her the whole time.

The forecast keeps getting worse. Now they are saying we could have a foot of snow by noon tomorrow and that it could be falling at 1-1/2" per hour overnight. I wish we didn't have so much driving to do tomorrow. The local weathergod said it could be the snowiest Christmas ever and to be ready to take pictures tomorrow. Did I say that I hate snow????????

This is my last post until probably Thursday. Tonight, we came home from church, broke out the eggnog and made a fire in the fireplace and watched Christmas movies.

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Just wanted to wish everyone a very merry Christmas today! Yesterday didn't go as planned for Garry's birthday but we made the best of it I guess. Nothing too horrible, just screwed up plans.

Today we are going to open presents from Santa (if he came! hehehe!) then Anna Marie leaves us by 11:00 and then Garry has to get ready and go to work! YUCK! In the past 9 years he has NEVER worked Christmas day, but this year he got stuck! I might take the two little ones over to my parents for awhile, but I don't know if we will be doing that. The Big Guy has got one do-sie of a cold! Tis the season.

I will check back in later today! I hope Santa was good this year to everyone!

Bonnie, GREAT poem too! You have many talents!
