We just got home. The Charlotte Checkers lost their game Turner's game was tied with no score :( At least all the kids were able to go home happy!! I took a few pictures and will try to get them posted on webshots in the next day or so. I'll let you know.

I'm beat! Coughing a little more today, too. I think it is the cold, dry weather bringing it on. I'm going to take some medicine and go on to bed. I don't want to have a rebound with the bronchitis.

Hope everyone with snow is digging out!!

Darren, don't forget to wash you hands after using the computers on board after you've signed on to say HI to all of us!!!!

Good night!

Good Morning Everyone! Just stopping in to say hello! I will be on later, just going to bed now! I hope everyone has a great friday! Hey, I'm up with the morning coffee crew! To bad I'm not having coffee with them. Gotta get a few hours in before I start my day!

Talk to you all soon! Have a great day!

Well to keep you all informed and updated here is some info on my cruise planning...

1) Drinks for Disboards....

After ensuring I have one drink for everyone from our group, thats around 25 drinks (not including the kids!) You may find me rolling around deck 9 or jumping overboard!!!

2) Washing hands....

Handwashing Schedule: board ship - wash hands, enter stateroom - wash hands, dress for dinner - wash hands, enter dining room - wash hands, leave dining room - wash hands, use computers to post to Dis - wash hands, go to midnight buffet - wash hands, LEAVE CRUISE - NO HANDS LEFT

LOL!!!!

3) Shore Excursions....

I have to check on when Lorenzo is working as I might go around the islands with him, but if it's convenient i'm considering...

KEY WEST - I've already done the Conch train tour in the past so i'm considering doing the Key West Walking tour - Got to visit that Key Lime Pie bakery!!!

GRAND CAYMAN - Thinking about the island tour, I know it sounds a bit un-exciting but I'm quite keen on seeing the island (didn't see much of St Maarten or St Thomas last time).

COZUMEL - No ideas yet, any suggestions?

CASTAWAY CAY - Might do the banana boat ride this time (nearly did it last time!), otherwise it will just be a lazy day for me!

4) Dining....

Yes, I will do plenty of this! Well what are cruises for anyway. I'm still trying to work out whether Lorenzo will be in Palo the week i'm there or whether he will be back in the normal dining rooms, I can't really directly ask him so i'll just have to find out when I get on board. I secretly hope he is in the standard dining rooms as it would be great to have him all week again! If he is in Palo I will probably do that as Bonnie suggested on the First night.

Then if i'm on Lumiere's rotation I will probably do the Champagne brunch on Thursday (Monday will be character breakfast, Sunday we will be coming into Key West and I would like to see us dock and would need to be off the ship quickly)

5) LILO AND STICH!!!...

I must, must, must see this film this time!!! and Treasure Planet!

6) Suprising Lorenzo!

This will be worth the cruise fare by itself, I can't wait to see him!

Not long to go now...

Katie --

What a BEAUTIFUL poem!!!

It brought a tear to my eye!! Your Mom & Dad have a lot to be proud of!! :D

Glad to hear that everyone had a good Christmas.

Just checking in before we leave for the evening.

Lori: Katie is very talented! I still wouldn't be able to write a poem like that, but then again, poetry never was my thing!

Darren: We have been to Cozumel twice. We didn't do an organized shore excursion either time. But, I really wanted to see the ruins. We spent too much money in Panama when we were there in April. We took a train ride from the Atlantic side of the Canal to the Pacific side. Then we took a bus tour around Panama City. I would love to do a Panama Canal cruise again. We loved Costa Rica. Last time, in Cozumel, we played miniature golf. We had a blast! The course was so tropical, plus we got to see an iguana and a bright green lizard. We drank some good sangria too! We also ate at Pancho's Backyard. I do not like Mexican food, but it was really good.

Garry: I hope you had a good day at work on Christmas.

Well, if wrestling with drunks and picking them up off the street where they passed out is fun, I guess it was a good day. I did get some satisfaction though when another officer stopped a car and almost let the guy go with just a ticket. The guy was a real smart*** and didn't know when to cut his losses and kept getting out of his truck and mouthing off while the other officer was writing the ticket. Well, he got out one too many times and I went nose to nose with him and got the slightest whiff of alcohol from him. That was enough for me to tell the other officer to give the guy some more sobriety field tests.

Suffice to say, it went downhill from there and minutes later we were tussling with the guy trying to get cuffs on him. He didn't want to listen so I helped him lay across the trunk of the car. After that we didn't have any more trouble. By the way, he blew a .137 for his breath test. Imagine that!

The other drunk was actually kind of funny. We found him passed out in the snow (on my street!) with a half drank 64 oz. (yes, I said 64 oz!) bottle of premixed marquaritas. We arrested him since he could hardly walk. When we got him back to the station I told the guys to put a jail mattress next to the chair he was sitting in when he was being booked. Sure enough, it didn't take long for him to list to starboard and capsize onto the mattress. We finally got him into the cell and he promptly fell over while he was using the toilet and hit his head. He was okay except for a slight bump, but that was enough for us to call the bucket fairies...oops, I meant fire fighters... and have him taken to the hospital where he stayed until he sobered up.

The guy looked like a founding father with his hair style so I asked him to say "Give me liberty or give me death" for me, but he was too drunk to even say his name.

Anyways, it was the typical "Happy Holidays" for us at the station! It always brings out the best in people.

Hope everyone else had a nice Christmas though.

By the way Denine, when you said you were visiting a friend yesterday, I figured you were dropping off my cookies. Poor Julie waited for you all day and you never showed! Is it still snowing that badly in Strongsville?

Woops i did a bit of a double post sorry!!!

Did I forget to say that those 25 drinks would have to be Conch Coolers (in the special mugs of course!)

Garry - I tell you I wish life a McDonalds was as exciting as the time you seem to have a work. Well actually saying that we do have our ups and downs!

Bonnie - Yes i'll be taking 3 tubs of industrial size hand cream to keep the chapping at bay!

Listen here, doughnut boy!!!

Good one SUE!!!!!!!!! ROFLOL!!!!

Really Garry...sorry it wasn't a good night with the drunks!.

Sinus infection here so I feel lousy. I called the doc and he only ordered Humabid. I don't think that will cut it but willing to give it a try.

Lots to do around here this weekend. I will be celebrating Christmas with my son on SUnday so I wll be busy getting ready all weekend. But I wll still be on at least once in AM and PM.

Great chat Julie...Miss Y'all!!!!!!!

Hi Susan! Garry says, and I quote:

"you know why you don't see firefighters at a donut shop is they are too busy making their own in the fire station kitchen. We unforutnately have to WORK for a living and not play chef. But If I had to do it over, I would be a fireman because everyone LOVES a fireman."

LOL! I love how we can kid each other like this! What are friends for!

We have real successful Bar-B-Q, Chicken Dinners, Fish Frys, etc.

By the way, our equipment is always cleaner too!!

Paul is the one telling me what to type!!!

That picture reminds me of my (Susan's) training fire. It got a little out of control before we wanted it to!!

BTW, neither one of us are members of the fire department any longer. The city annexed too much property and took over our district. Plus, we were starting a family and it was time to spend more time at home!

Did you all get my picture of what our firemen do? They sell Hoagies too!!! Very talented bunch in NJ

Good night you guys...keep it up!

I just wanted to let everyone know that we have raised a Disney Freak! Anna Marie got the new musical disney game for Christmas which is for ages 6 to adult. Well, we let Makenzie play because she wouldn't let us play it with out her. WELL, she WON!!!!!!! Fair and square! All we could do was laugh because she was answering the questions right! She even beat me, which I might add is hard to do when it comes to Disney stuff. Only by one square, but she won! Garry and I can't believe she knows that much about Disney songs!

Let me be the first one to say:

Mom you must be getting ready for your big trip to WDW and the cruise!!!! If you haven't left already!!! I hope you didn't leave without saying goodbye to your adopted daughter (Well at least I adopted you) here! LOL!

Darren I want to hear all about how that surprise goes!!!! So i take it you will go to Palo's the first night eh? Don't forget to tell Cristophe the Dudettes say hi!!! And Lorenzo, and Salvatore and Christian from Croatia in Palo's!! Tell them we'll be back in 2004!!

I will be very busy today but plan on checking in! I can't resist everytime I hear the whistle blow!!!

:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEN!!!

I thought police, firefighters, doctors & nurses had a special bond. We are the people who have to deal with the good & bad of everyday life. I didn't know we were rivals! HUMOR IS OUR WAY OF COPING:tongue:

It sounds like everyone had a great holiday. Sorry Bonnie - I must confess I did wish for snow on Christmas.

Started with a cold & had a bad Thursday night (long story) & had to work Friday but work turned out to be great & took Tylenol Sinus & Allergy & feel much better. I think my "Shopping Marathon" on Thursday may have made me get sick.

Hope you all have a great weekend. GOOOOOO EAGLES!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Toodles:wave: :earsgirl: Jeanne
