Just back from leaving off Cinderella's Castle. My hairdresser was thrilled. I would love to see her little girl's face on Christmas morning. Boy I do miss those days but I also don't want them back. Remember trying to find Cabbage Patch Dolls?

Went to visit my Dad's grave & decorate it for the holidays. I have already outlived my Dad who died at 50.

Enough depressing things. I want to tell you all how I make cookies. At my work they sell bags of dough (already cut in pieces) from Otis Spunkmeyer. I break them off, bake them & they taste just like homemade! Now you all know my secret!

Sandy- You are right about your own insurance paying medical. in Colorado we have PIP but there is a limit on how much they will pay and what they will pay. Once you have exceeded that amount then it is up to the other insurance company to pick up. Just worries me when there is no police report. Just the insurance person in me.

Hey I hear it is spitting snow outside. Wish we would actually get some snow!!

I'm home from work a laittle early today. Turner woke up all croupy and has a sore throat so he stayed home from school. Paul needed to leave at 4:00 to go out of town for the evening so I came home to see how my little boy was. He's better. I sure hope he doesn't get as bad as I did!!! I, on the other hand, have even more energy today!! Yippee!!

Darren - glad you are all booked!!! I am so envious!!!!!

You guys are not going to believe this. We have a "Winterfest" celebration at work each year (politically correct holiday meet and eat). It includes about 200 people. You bring a dish and managment provides the meat. They have judges taste testing the dishes and pick a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for Desserts, Side Dishes, and Appetizers. I won 1st place for my side dish and it was a very, very easy dish. My grandmother always made it and it really doesn't have a name, so I called it the Cranberry Thingie!!!

Sally/Julie, I will send this one and a few other recipes to you in an email for our recipe book.

Hi guys, their is a police report from yesterday but no ticket. Then we go down to the substation and file another report. It definitely will be documented. Thanks for the concerns. Driving today I noticed that my steering column is making a squeaky noice so we will have that checked out plus Ted is concerned about the 4 wheel drive so need to check that out, also. I was wondering about alignment, too. Have made no promises either way to the lady. I want to be fair to her but need to think of us first.

Jeanne, don't you just love Otis? He's my kind of a baker!! Gosh, Sally, wish you lived closer so I could have some of yours! It just seems that Patti doesn't appreciate them as much as I would. LOL

Poor, Turner. Mom shares everything with the poor guy including the BUG! Hope he gets well soon. It seemed like my kids were always sick during holidays. CONGRATULATIONS on your dish.

One of you just brightened my day!!! I got my gift. Thanks!The "delivery" man (don't want to give out clues) stated that someone must love me. I quickly put it in my DD's room where she will rip off any clues. Quite honestly, I am not so sure that I can trust myself. Sad but honest! Can we open them NOW?

Boy Sandy, thank goodness you weren't hurt! That's pretty scary anyway. (yes, I actually went back and read 4 pages!- still haven't read anything from when I was gone so have missed something I think --- recipe book? I really do have some good good recipes)

Darren -- hate to sound ungrateful for what I DO have BUT ... I'm soooooo jealous!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you to ALL of you who sent Christmas cards! I STILL don't have mine so I really think I will do New Years cards -- I have done that before. Krista, when Annika saw Claire she said "that's my friend!" It was cute. The picture of my gang with Pluto outside the boat at Castaway came out really well - we bought it even (so thanks for the picture of them getting their picture taken! Also -- do we really look like a gang or what?)

Sandy -- your girls look just like you! Lucky ones they are (not that Ted's hard on the eyes or anything!)

Planning to leave here early Monday and drive all the way to Savannah so lets keep our fingers crossed the weather is good -- I'm such a nervous wreck about driving in the winter, especially through the mountains.

When are we opening (I think I missed that too)?

Sue - congratulations!!! I'm glad you will be sharing that recipe. I have to get on the ball to send some to Julie. I can think of some desserts. I wish I could find my spaghetti sauce recipe. It was the best! I lost it in a move and never made it again since the other was so good. Maybe the broccoli (sp) dish.

Sandy-get that SUV checked! It may seem like a few bumps and scratches but you never know what happens underneath! My colleague at work drove her car home after an accident then found out it was totaled!

Sandy, I hope you're not feeling too bad after the accident. Injuries from an accident can be deceiving, you think it's nothing, but then you hurt in places you never hurt before. I know, I was rear-ended by a drunk 2 years ago while I was stopped at a traffic light. Imagine their surprise when they realized they hit a police officer! Anyways, hope you're doing okay. Just make sure you don't get taken advantage of and don't get bullied into not getting the insurance companies involved if things aren't getting taken care of.

Darren, you're the envy of everyone here now! Boy, to be young and able to do things on the spur of the moment! Enjoy yourself!

Jeanne, tell your son congratulations for me. It is really tough to place well enough on those civil service exams to get hired. You should be proud of him!

As far as my input on the job, I guess it's in the eye of the beholder. There are a lot of plusses and minuses in a law enforcement career. The plusses are a job that lets you help people, has a certain amount of prestige, and it is a pretty secure job compared to a lot of occupations. The down side is that, depending on the size town you work in, you see humanity at it's worst. Most people don't call the police when things are going good. You can also get disillusioned pretty fast between the things you see and the lack of respect from a good number of people. Everyone loves a fireman because they don't hand out tickets and arrest people. But, then again when someone is breaking into your house, you don't call a fireman, do you? All in all, if he goes into it with his eyes open, he should be okay. Julie can probably give you a wife's perspective. The job is tough on family.


Well, everyone, I have noticed a sharp increase in "female" talk today, so I will have to come up with a topic for tomorrow later.
