Roll Call. Oct.19,02 Cruisers Continued...

I'm here again! My Dad is home already and we are all back in our respective homes. Whew! They did remove just over 70% of his liver, found 8 mets there but didn't see anything in his right lobe - thank goodness. We pretty much figure he has microscopic mets since there were so many to begin with. Time will tell. Surgery was about 9 LOOOONG hours but he did well. Will wait about 2 months, do an MRI and cat scan and decide on chemo then. Of course the Drs are pushing him to do it but he said he'd wait to make that decision. We are all hoping they didn't send him home too early (it was only 5 days after surgery). He wasn't feeling well yesterday........

Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. They meant alot to us.

NOW --- I have to apologize early to my secret santa -- I had to go to downtown Toronto to find my "perfect" gift/ornament and it will be mailed TODAY. Hopefully the mail service will not disappoint us by being sssllllllloooooowwwwww.

Have not done any Christmas cards either. I wanted to do one of the cruise pics but with being gone, it just isn't happening! Maybe we'll send out new years cards?

Glad things went well for your dad....they do push people out of hospitals before they should. We will all be praying for his recovery.

I haven't sent my cards yet either...was going to make all of them but won't have time....maybe next year.

Julie & Garry- Let me see if I understand how to do this.
I want to check out Jan 6 2004 soooo on Feb 6 2003 I can
call Disney vacation club and make a reservation at The Beach Club because this is my home resort. If I was making it for another resort I would have to wait until June 6 2003???

I am so excited to call and make that first reservation!! Are they helpful for those of us that are DVC challenged??

Julie- Love the clip art! Well all of it except the boxing gloves!
Not sure how Patty and I got this fighting reputation. Even when we were little. We didn't fight THAT much. (Heehee) Her favorite threat to me was 'When we grow up you will never be able to watch my kids" When she would get in trouble I would cry but when I got in trouble she would laugh! How does that work??

Not to confuse you any more but...... I would personally call DVC and book day by day. In other words: check IN Jan. 1 call Feb. 2 and book for that day (as if you were checking OUT in Jan. 2), on Feb. 3 call and add on Jan. 2, on Feb. 4 call and add on Jan. 3, and so on....... you just never know how busy they will be on that particular week and this way you have an excellent chance of getting anything and everything you want.

good luck, it's really quite fun and YES, most of the CM's are very helpful!

Sandy, I only mailed yours yesterday, I was waiting for the reprints you wanted, to be back. I shouldn't have put them thru in the same envelope as an 8x10 enlargement order. It took forever, and therefore , so did the reprints. Anyway, yes you ARE very special and it's on it's way!!!!! (Now go to the mirror and say to yourself..."I'm OK and, gosh darnit people like me.") How did that SNL routine go? Garry will know.

I just bought my Secret Santa gift last night and I have no excuse! Will be mailing tomorrow.

Just got off the phone with the Dental surgeon. Looks like I may
be getting my tooth pulled tomorrow.
Jason is coming home on Saturday and we have lots of plans. My tooth is really bothering me today so I am going to get it taken care of. I need to be back to normal by Saturday!

The tooth is no big deal. I had all 4 pulled in September. Unfortunately, eight days later I had a kidney stone so I sure didn't think about the teeth again!! Good Luck!

Diana - so glad to hear from you. The prayer will not stop now. I hope and pray he responds well to whatever treatment he chooses. Glad you are now home. Rest!

Update from me - I am getting a little better each day. I am sleeping about 16-18 hours a day. Our cable went out yesterday afternoon and just came back on about an hour ago. Easy to stay in bed and sleep when you don't have cable. Plus, I had withdrawals. I couldn't do my daily check of the board (our internet provider is cable)!

Garry - GO change your underwear now! As grandma always said, you don't want to be caught in an accident with dirty underwear. As Paul says, does it really matter; if you have an accident you probably won't have clean underwear anyway.

If cable holds on, I'll be back on later today.

I miss the dudettes!

Barb: If you want a grand villa (although I don't think there are any at the Beach Club), book day-by-day. Otherwise, it shouldn't be a problem as long as you book 11 months out since it is over New Years. We just booked a studio at VWL this week for next month with no problem.
I had all 4 wisdom teeth done at once. Three were impacted, one by bone. I only had novocaine. That was the worst part, I had never had it before.

Diana: Glad to hear your dad is home. I hope all goes well in his recovery!

Sue: We just booked the Country Inn and Suites in Charlotte off of 85 for coming and going.

Do you know how hard it is to find a disposable, large, holiday plate? We went to several stores and finally found a silver looking one. I am making a coffee cake type thing for our Christmas brunch for adoptive families on Saturday and didn't want to put it on something I had to bring home.

Garry: If Julie is washing your underwear, either do it yourself or buy more!

Denine- What is a "Grand Villa" So lets see if I have this
stright. If I am checking out on Jan 6 I would call Feb 6th and book only for one day then on Feb 7th I would call again and book for Jan 5. On Feb 8th I book for Jan4th etc.....

Barb: If you want to book day by day, start with the 1st day of your vacation and book 11 months out from that.
I believe you said the 1st day is Dec 27 2003. So you would call January 27 2003 and just book the one day. Then do the same thing everyday until you have your vacation booked.
If you don't want to do that, take the last day of your vacation (Jan 6 2004), call 11 months prior to that day (Feb 6 2003) and book the entire vacation. Am I making any sense?
How many people do you need to make reservations for? Studios and 1 bedroom units sleep 4 people. 2 bedroom units sleep 8 people and the grand villa sleeps 12 people. There is no grand villa at the Beach Club. They are very difficult to come by and you really need to own at a resort with one, to get one since a lot of people book those day by day 11 months out.

Garry: Jerry says that wearing your underwear more than once is better than going without. (He made me say this!)

I forgot. I went to the doctor today to get my asthma meds renewed. He wanted to do another lung function test since I hadn't had one done since the spring. It came back with really good results. It was really horrible in the spring. Of course, I did have that shot of cortisone a couple of weeks ago.
