Roll Call for August vacationers!

We are WDW vets and making our first trip to DL from August 17-22 and then off to San Diego for a few days.

We are staying at the CCI. No Entertainment discount for the week we are travelling at HoJo. Since we are paying the same $$ we wanted breakfast included.

We purchased So. Cali City Pass through COSTCO last week with no s/h. It was about $227 p/p. Great savings!

Since you are a WDW vet, I'm sure you've had your pics taken by the Photo pass photographer. You can purchase the CD with all your pics on it and the rights to those fro $124 (at WDW) and $59 (at DL). We have formed a group to share the expense of the CD and one person is in charge of several people and will order and copy the pics and send them to the others in their group.

Here is a link to the August group.

We'll be down for August 24-28. I managed to get a Hojo entertainment rate room (booked it a LONG time ago!!).

At WDW we were given a wrist bracelet for a photographer to scan. How does that work with sharing a cd? What do y ou present the photographer with?

It's the same process, but instead of going home and looking at your pics right away, if you are in a group you'll be given a designated date to upload and edit your pics. Then you will receive a CD with all your pics on it. Then you can print what ever ones you want.

Sorry for the dumb question, but the dates that that gets designated I am assuming or rather, hoping, that its after your vacation?

So, you do get a wrist band?

I've never gotten a wrist band, only a photopass card (which is similar and the same purpose, I think the wrist bands are from the water parks).

Your upload date would be after you return. Wouldn't want you to have to fret over that.

It's a nice way to save money. Some don't use photo pass that much so they just purchase a pic or two, and that's fine, but having done that in the past also, it's almost cheaper to do this and have the rights to all of the pics.

We were in WDW in December and I paid a ridiculous amount of $ for a 4x6 on Main St.

OK - I will be headed over to your link for how it all works. Where exactly do I sign up?'

thanks to the "5 for 3" deal, our dates have changed from August 3-5, to August 3-7. WOOHOOO! :cool1:

We will be there the same week (Aug 3-8). We also got in on the 5 for 3 deal, and since we booked through Costco we also get a free character breakfast, a Disney gift card, and a Downtown Disney fun card (or something, I think it's like a discount card). :) We are staying at the Portofino Inn in a kid's suite because there are 6 of us and it was the closest participating hotel that allows 6 to a room.

I haven't been to DLR since 1992 (before DCA) and my family has never been there. I can't wait for them to see it all, they are going to love it!

COUNT US IN

We were originally booked for my families first trip to DL for 8/30-9/2, but
switched the days to 8/29-9/1. I was concerened about only being there Mon-Wed that we would miss important things like Aladdin, parades and/or fireworks. We are using DVC points to stay at the GC. We are very excited!:dance3:
We have been visiting DW for the past couple of years and doing a DCL cruise as well but we can't wait to visit DL. We will be in California for 9 days and plan on visiting San Diego and Hollywood as well. Any advice for a first timer would be greatly appreciated.

We are also planning our first trip for August. We were originally doing the same time period as you, but this year school starts early, so I am glad I don't have to undo everything.

We are travelling August 17, spending 5 nights in Anaheim, including a visit to Universal Hollywood then taking an Amtrak over to San Diego, renting a car and spending another 5 days in San Diego, taking in SeaWorld and the Zoo. We purchased our flights the other day as well as our So. California City Pass. Just a few more reservations to make and all is done but the waiting.
