Roll call 3/13/2004 Western Magic cruisers...

We are going to start laying out clothes to pack today! I have also been picking up little things while shopping to take, mostly thanks to the suggestions on this board. After booking over a year ago, I can't believe it is almost here!!!:bounce:

my dd(6) just handed me her list of important items she wanted to pack - 4 stuffed animals;6 books;Kit, her American Girl Doll; a barbie; swim suit; binoculars; her swim suit and her tinkerbell pjs. She's my daughter - she learns to pack from me - what more important things to take on a vacation? swimsuit, pjs, and books! She just wheeled her rolling backpack into her room to see if she could fit everything in after I suggested she leave 3 stuffed animals and the Barbie at home.

We are getting very excited around here too! Our documents came the same day as decolady's from all seas also! I have a lot of things laid out and will start packing soon! We are going to be out of town at a soccer :upsidedow tournament next weekend so our time is really getting sparse! We love our soccer around here though so I don't mind the craziness it is going to create with trying to get ready for the cruise! Happy packing everyone! (My friend and I think we are more excited than the kids!) We talk about it constantly!

Hi onceuponadream and mickeymo and everyone else: Late posting to the board as we are doing this trip back to back after moving from one house to another (within Houston) and then in the process of being transferred to Qatar (near Saudi Arabia).

We have me (39), dh(40), dd(7) and dd(4 1/2)

I have not booked or decided on excursions. That is my first order of business today. It is so not like me, but with these moves, etc I've let this slip until it needs immediate attention.

Does anyone know if you can book the Dolphin Excursion in Cozumel locally? Since the DCL excursion is booked.....

Also does anyone know if the age cut offs for excursions are strictly adheared to?

Thanks, Margaret64

Hi Margaret64 and welcome to our little group!

I know that you can book the dolphin encounters directly, go to www.dolphindiscovery.com. Then click on the Cozumel location. I think the diference is that you will have to upgrade to the Dolphin Adventure, which is in deeper water and actually swimming with the dolphins, while the Disney excursion is on a platform in waist-high water.

Good luck and see you in less than 2 weeks!! :bounce:

Hi all,

O.K. I've officially started gathering our stuff. It must be a "Mickey Thing" as my dh insists, because I'm a notorous last minute - late night packer. Just returned from Target. Couldn't resist a few new summer outfits for my dd6 and a new swimsuit for my ds9. Can check film, underwater disposable cameras, and the suction cup hooks of the list. Can't believe I forgot to buy sunscreen! That's what happens when I forgot to bring the list!!!

With Soccer and Softball starting last week, and Basketball ending this weekend it's been crazy. DH is sound tech for a community theater production that opens and runs Thurs-Sun - it's just as well I'm trying to get organzed early.

Are we going to try and meet officially on the cruise?

I'm up for an official meet. Last time we planned our meet for before the sail away party up on deck. I read where another group planned a lunch at sea meet. That'd be fun. What does everyone want to do? It might not be a bad idea to have a backup plan in case of rain or something.

I say the earlier we meet the better! That way we can enjoy our new friends all week! Where is the Sail Away party, on deck 9 by the pool? Why not pick a spot on that deck and try to meet at the start of the party?

I will be sporting my new lime green DIS water wallet around my neck!

Deb

I did go ahead and book the Dolphin Encounter direct through the company. Only problem is that I haven't been able to speak with anyone to confirm that it actually went through and this was a few days ago. That makes me nervous....

I'm up for a meet....especially for the kids to get to know one another.

The Sailaway Party is on Deck 9, unless it's raining. Then I've heard they move it inside. It begins around 4:30. The boat drill is at 4:00. We could choose a spot on 9 aft right after the boat drill. We'd want to be away from the crowd at first. It can be loud and crowded around the pool when they start dancing, which makes it hard to talk. We can always move closer once we've found each other.

Should we have a back-up plan in case of rain?

We'll be wearing green ribbons, if I can find our DIS ribbons. I think I left them in our suitcases.

Good idea, Merry! How about meeting at the tables near Scoops Ice Cream around 4:30? I'm not sure where to meet if it is held inside, I think the party is moved to the atrium.

Merry, what are DIS ribbons and where do you get them??

Only 9 days to go!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Just DIS green (lime) ribbons. I got mine at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Lime isn't always easy to find, so I hope I can find our ribbon. You can either tie it to your water wallet or camera bag or pin it on your shirt. That way if a DISer sees you, they know to ask if you are on the boards. A DIS button or water wallet does the same thing. I just don't have one.

Scoops, 4:30 sounds great! my f.i.l will probably head there after he closes down the lunch buffet - I'll see if I can find lime green ribbon, too! Got to love the countdown numbers!!! It's seems like the days are dragging slower, and slower!!!

We'll be there!!! I'm finally resuming my planning for this trip. Thanks guys!

I wonder if we could get it posted on the TV or better yet the Navigator, DIS meet 4:30 outside scoops. Do you think this is possible? Only DISers would know what it is!

Hi. I was just reading your recent posts regarding meeting at 4:30. Here's a hint I read on this board many months ago. Go to Home Depot. They have a line of Disney paints for the home which have corresponding sample cards. The sample cards are actually Mickey Heads stickers which you can take free as samples. Get a few lime green Mickey heads and sport them for the DIS meeting!!!! I have mine!!!! Also, shhhhh about possible rain. We can not think rain only sunshine!!!! I'd love to have my group join the DIS meet. I really don't think they will make an announcement. Don't forget to look to the dock side of the boat as it pulls away during the sail away party. The Disney cruise line staff left behind at the terminal wear Mickey Hand gloves to wave good bye!!! See you soon as I am getting ready to PARTY!!!

Great idea, Bee, I am going to try to get to Home Depot this weekend.

Hope there are a few more crew members waving to us when we sail, last time I sailed there was one lonely guy waving!

I am bringing bubbles for sail away also!

I'd forgotten about the Mickey paint chips. That's even better than a ribbon. I'll have to make a stop at my Home Depot. And I'm planning to bring bubbles, too.

Office Depot/Max has Lime Green file folder dots - not as fun as the mouse ear paint chips, though. On the positive side there's lots in a package. Picked them up today, when I bought the computer printer iron on transfers and the magnet sheet. Bubbles are in the pile of stuff ready to be packed - thanks for the dockside tip for sail away - one more thing to add to my list of tips.
