ROL dining package???

I am almost positive it has been reported on the Disney Parks blog that Tiffins will offer a ROL package. And the new ABD for WDW has Tiffins plus ROL together.

1) Am an sure your are correct.
2) But, when speaking of packages and special offers, I usually do not deal with rumors.
3) I really want to see it in writing from Disney and be able to plan it.
4) Tight now, the full details of the offering(s) are not released.

The WDW ABD has their guests eating breakfast at Tiffin's and also having seating at RoL. I wouldn't necessarily assume that that equates to a package for the general public. That ABD also has breakfast at Tony's (which doesn't exist for the general public) and a private dinner at the Chef's Table at CR (again, not accessible to the general public). ABD has cut their own VIP deals with WDW that really have no parallel to what non-ABD guests have access to.

Yikes! Hoping you can share more info soon, Rusty.

Now, this is what we have been told . . . (so, consider it part rumor and part truth).
Hopefully things will evolve!
.

1) What we HAVE BEEN TOLD . . .
. . . prices for lunch and dinner will be the same (now, dinner is more expensive than lunch)
. . . the food offerings will be the same for lunch and dinner, much like Le Cellier
. . . there will be a reduction in the number of food offerings on the buffet
. . . less offerings mean less food costs and faster table-turns as guests "eat and get" (aka, "opening the table")
. . . like a Fantasmic! package, it will cost more (more cash or 2-TS credits)
. . . characters will no longer walk around the restaurant *
2) For those who like Tusker, this is a disappointing move

* Like BoG, the characters will only be in one location. At the end of the meal you walk into the room (locally) called "The Closet", then exit after a BRIEF Photo-Op. (The "400" room is the narrow room at the far-right-rear side of the eatery. Currently, they use it mostly for handicapped guests or autistic kids, as it is so small and pretty quiet.) The location is not a Photo-Op or a Memory Maker photographer location, but you use your own camera. No autographs or hugs, just a "stand and flash" chance to take a photo with the character. This would be identical to getting to see The Beast at BoG. (People don't realize that BoG is the "Test Bed" for new ideas. Things done to speed up table-turns and get more people through the eatery; ideas are tested here and then used elsewhere within WDW.)

I don't mind the rest but I DO NOT like the characters not walking around! Ugh

The brief character photo op is absurd. I asked the kids what 2 character meals they want to do and Tusker dinner and CP breakfast were the winners.

I know! This was our favorite. We will probably skip Tusker and do a character meal somewhere else and I heard Flame Tree BBQ will have a ROL package and if so, we will book that instead.

Oh, wow... if that is the case with Tusker House, we won't even go. Glad we'll have the opportunity to read trip reports prior to our 6/5 ADR I was planning to switch to ROL package.

Changing the character interaction is bound to upset many.
The quickie photo op is not bound to be a draw like BOG unless it is a rare or special character.

This move by Disney if it turns out to be true would not surprise me in the least bit; Disney has been doing a whole lot of "less" for "more" money over the last year or so. :(:sad2: But with that said, it won't have an impact for me since TH for lunch/dinner is not something I enjoy. However, I feel bad for those who enjoy these buffets.

Will the changes apply to breakfast too? Or just lunch and dinner?
