ROL dining package???

I'm confused about the 2 TS credits "like Fantasmic! package." Every year we've done the Fatasmic! package, it was only 1 TS at either Mama Melrose or Hollywood and Vine, are you saying that Disney has "told you" - I know nothing confirmed, that Tusker House will be 2 TS dining credits for the package, if there is one? - Isn't Brown Derby (the only Fantasmic! package that requires 2 TS credits), a signature restaurant?

This confused me, also. I have a Fantasmic! package booked at MM and it is only 1 TS credit. It's been a few years, but I don't think it the cost when I paid OOP at H&V, was higher with the package, either....

Now, this is what we have been told . . . (so, consider it part rumor and part truth).
Hopefully things will evolve!
.

1) What we HAVE BEEN TOLD . . .
. . . prices for lunch and dinner will be the same (now, dinner is more expensive than lunch)
. . . the food offerings will be the same for lunch and dinner, much like Le Cellier
. . . there will be a reduction in the number of food offerings on the buffet
. . . less offerings mean less food costs and faster table-turns as guests "eat and get" (aka, "opening the table")
. . . like a Fantasmic! package, it will cost more (more cash or 2-TS credits)
. . . characters will no longer walk around the restaurant *
2) For those who like Tusker, this is a disappointing move

* Like BoG, the characters will only be in one location. At the end of the meal you walk into the room (locally) called "The Closet", then exit after a BRIEF Photo-Op. (The "400" room is the narrow room at the far-right-rear side of the eatery. Currently, they use it mostly for handicapped guests or autistic kids, as it is so small and pretty quiet.) The location is not a Photo-Op or a Memory Maker photographer location, but you use your own camera. No autographs or hugs, just a "stand and flash" chance to take a photo with the character. This would be identical to getting to see The Beast at BoG. (People don't realize that BoG is the "Test Bed" for new ideas. Things done to speed up table-turns and get more people through the eatery; ideas are tested here and then used elsewhere within WDW.)

I am confused. Would this apply soon, like this month as part of the cost cutting, or would this go into effect when the ROL packages start? Thanks for keeping us up-to-date Rusty.

Good so it seems that the current rumor that characters would be taken away is most likely not true then at Tusker House.

The rumor is that they will be in a "closet" for quick meets after eating rather than roaming and interacting at the tables. Not that they will be taken away. IMHO the closet thing still stinks though.

What the CM posted on the thread I referenced above mentioned nothing about changing the way the characters meet and greet at Tusker.

No, someone else who has CM rumor information posted the closet thing.

Yes, I realize that, but what the CM posted on the thread I referenced was copied directly from the HUB, the website for CMs. And it mentioned no current changes for the characters.

I am well aware of what the Hub is having a CM sister (not at WDW anymore) and having been a CM. I am also aware that they can get in serious trouble for posting information there. Hopefully their manager doesn't find out they are quoting it.

FWIW, I have spoken with (2) CMs ( A friend of mine (CM) gave me the info that I had posted on the other thread ( regarding the pricing, and the Flame Tree inclusion ) --- both of them were told ( and as previously mentioned, all rumor and/or speculation right now) that TH would be operating the same as always, as far as the characters-- again, the people I spoke with could be totally wrong, and the "Closet" might be the way they are going. Wait and see as usual --

I would not book TH if the buffet is reduced. I actually enjoy the lunch food there a lot. It's one of my fave in-park restaurants. We could not fit it into our schedule on our last trip (and I really regretted it), so I was looking forward to it for our Fall trip (TBD).

Yep. DH is a CM, he works in corporate management and couldn't believe people were directly copying and pasting stuff from the Hub. It's a CM only site for a reason, if info is on there that hasn't been released to the public it's not for CMs to quote.

1) Yep.
2) Some refer to my "AGE" in terms such as Mesozoic, Mesoproterozoic.

NOTE: Please remember, these Tusker changes are things we have been told, but may or may not come into effect. WDW does throw out "trial balloons" occasionally, then decide whether to implement or not to implement.
Please tell WDW that guests like Tusker House for the wide variety and quality of food, and for the opportunity for more character interactions. The suggested changes to Tusker House sound like one of the all-time worst WDW change ideas ever. This would be about as bad as closing Horizons.

I think that reducing the offerings at dinner in TH would be a huge mistake. Look what happened at Akershus! People are will to pay a premium price for Disney meals, but for the love of all that is Holy, don't charge a fortune and then reduce what we can choose from!

As to the characters at dinner, I have mixed feelings. I like character meals, but I wonder how many people want to relax during dinner, and wish that the characters were missing from one of the three meals. TH used to have character breakfast but nt dinner, IIRC, and there were a lot of people who wished it stayed that way.

Until there is official news released we are all speculating, but I do think that the "news leaks" may be trial balloons to gauge in advance people's reactions. I am looking forward to a dining package with ROL but am really glad my trip will not occur intil December so I can see how the whole thing works.

Ok under dining there is listed "Animal Kingdom Special Activities" and it says "Table Service" but you can't click on it (yet)! That is completely new. Was not there before. Or I don't recall ever seeing it before.....

I definitely don't remember it before. Since this time yesterday morning, they added Tiffins (I think) and the Special Activities - I was watching the total number of restaurants in Animal Kingdom and it went from 24 to 26. It is bothering me greatly that I can't click on it, lol!
