Never gonna happen. I'm hopelessly holding out for Disney to convert a Yacht Club wing to DVC with brand new 50 year leases. One can dream....
You and me both! Yacht Club was our resort of choice prior to buying into DVC. I'd be tripping over myself to give them money if that ever became an option.

beldred---$155-$8664-50-BCV-Dec-0/21, 100/22, 50/23- sent 9/19, passed 10/4

Well, we're semi-officially DVC owners now!! Assuming nothing crazy happens in closing. I'll not count my chickens until I have points in hand so to speak. 😁

We probably overpaid. I didn't do a great job at figuring how much closing and MF would affect the price on such a small contract. I will have to do better in the future. Ultimately we'd like to have about 200 points but needing to do small chunks over a few years to keep it all cash.
Submitted on 9/22, hopefully ours will pass soon (at SS)!

I'm waiting on VGF; so there is no reason to take my contract. I think you are waiting on AKL which may or may not get taken. Good luck!
Thanks! I’m trying to tell myself it’s a good sign I haven’t heard yet (first contract was taken after 11 days so she was super speedy!

BCV is crazy expensive for a 2042 resort. But you got a good deal considering most listings range from $160-190. I think most of them will sit there for a long time and sellers are probably ok with that. I need me some BCV!
It was listed at $175, we made the offer at $155 and they accepted immediately. We did pay 2022 MFs and closing costs. I wanted to offer $150 but I was afraid of the ROFR beast. LOL

It's not my ideal use year (really wanted a September or October, as we usually travel in November or February) but we'll made it work.

This is actually my fear. I put in a low ball offer and they actually accept. I wonder how many of the BCV owners just list their contracts sky high so that offers that come in $20+ less seem like low ball. IMO, no 2042 contracts are worth more than $120pp.

Still waiting on a BLT submitted 9/6. If this doesn’t pass, I’m going to try and find an international seller.

People value their contract differently. For me, I’d really rather stay at a place I really love for the next 19 years…..BWV.
IMO BWV standard studio or even BCV offer the best bang vs Disney’s cash rates. Take April 10 at BWV for example, $765 vs 15 points. So 1 point is worth $51. VGF is $1003 vs 24 points for a resort studio. So 1 point is about $42 value.
If I’m in my 20-30s, maybe I’d care about 2042 but I’m not…. Lol
2042 OKW and BRV are in the low $100s. I saw a private seller has stripped BCV for $130s.

This is where I’m torn. I love the EPCOT area resorts but I’m in my 30s. I added a small Poly contract recently just to have some points that expire later than my AKV points but I’d really like to add on at BWV or BCV. I couldn’t do it before with the earlier expiration on the resorts but I may just have to go for it. Like you said, they do have a good value (versus cash) and I love the location. I managed to “sneak” in the small DHHR that’s in ROFR and I’m supposed to wait until Poly2 for more points, but I’m already checking out EPCOT-area resort deals for the near future lol.

I’ve seen a couple of good deals (different resorts) where the PP is really low because they’re stripped. In this case, would you also try to have the seller pay the MFs for the missing points or cover the price of some of the missing points to help bring the overall price to a “regular” low offer?

Those BCV contracts have no points till 2024 so you won’t pay for MF till then. You shouldn’t have to pay for MF 22 for any contract before year end even if they are loaded.

We have plenty of longer contract if my kids want them 😂

I hear ya, and I agree with most of it. Value is in the eye of the beholder. I’m in my 40s and 2042 should bother me less, not necessarily because I want to pass it onto my children. But because I still want an exit strategy. Even though I currently have no plans to sell any of my contracts, life happens and you just never know. I just hate the feeling of being the last guy left holding the bags. But other times, I feel BCV would be worth it. In the end, my wife keeps me in check and tells me we have way too much points in Orlando, when we live 5k miles away and we can only go every other year. As I said before when I backed out of BCV at $140pp last year, I’ll be kicking myself till my dying days thinking what if! Oh wells. I’ll just haveto live vicariously through you crazy folks.

Good! You made me feel so much better!!! You live 5k miles away and I live 2 hrs flight away. I was going to jump on another sub contract but got a cheap Poly instead. I’m pretty confident about this as no Poly has been taken for over a year.
I’ll trade you my BWV points for some VGC points lol.

Glad I could help making you feel better about your insane DVC purchases. This is what this board is all about! I’m pretty sure your Poly will be fine. Being from Hawaii, Poly is the very LAST place we would EVER consider buying or staying at. But I get it. Mainlanders love that Tiki vibe and culture. As for your offer for my VGC, now you’re just trying to swindle me! J/k. In reality, I might be needing to rent some of my VGC in the future since we’ve decided not to renew our Magic Keys and we won’t be going as much. I notice the DVC rental store that most all of the rental requests are for BCV with a few for VGC and that’s it. Ugggh. I need me some BCV!!!

I look at 2042 contracts like a car purchase: no exit strategy and just use them 'til they're dead or I'm tired of them and at that point whatever I get back, if anything, is found money. Anything 2057 or later, purely because of my age (58), certainly begs for some foresight as to what I might want to do with them as I age or our vacation tastes change (and whether the next gen wants them). I certainly wouldn't start stockpiling 2042 contracts, obviously, or jump into some 300-point BRV or OKW (non-extended) contract.
