ROFR Thread July to Sept 2025 *PLEASE SEE FIRST POST FOR INSTRUCTIONS & FORMATTING TOOL*

VGC ($225) and BWV ($99) I felt I did really good on. AKV average to good maybe ($100), and BLT just okay ($138). I do have a September use year for WDW points so sometimes things can be hard to find.
I did research before buying my first DVC contract years ago--also stayed (with rented points) in many DVC rooms. But this is the one thing I wish I would've better understood beforehand--that there are certain UYs with far more points allocated to them and certain UYs with far less points. My two key UYs are Sep and Mar, both on the lower side for overall allocation of points. Still, a minor issue, but information that likely would've helped me.

Can't close until 8/29 and seller completes existing reservation. Not a big deal since I'm just going to use most of the points to sub in for an existing reservation in February at CCV that I made using my RIV points.

Yep, that's why I just went for the BLT when I did, even if it wasn't a great deal. Because there was not much available for MK resorts that I would be interested in (BLT/Poly) at the time in Sep use year.

I at least did realize that Sept had fewer contracts available since I was using an aggregator and could see the totals available for each use year. I decided I wanted probably Sep/Oct based on our favorite travel times (October to February) then found contracts listed in both of the use years and decided on Sept since I was able to get better deals on BWV/AKV even if I got a worse deal on BLT.

I also decided on September over October because I wanted to future proof in case I needed to walk something for Halloween or early December if availability gets really bad in the future. And It would be easier to go in September to save points if I ever wanted to go in the lowest point season.

We stayed at VGF for the first time in June and just had to buy this contract afterwards. This puts us in the over 1000 point club (NEVER thought we would be—addonitis is REAL), but we won’t stay there. Going to spin off a couple other contracts in the next 6 months—to help ease the ouch of this one. :rotfl2:

All of our earlier points were just great buys (owners since 2009) but we are leaning more into the “buy where you want to stay club.” We have plenty of points so weren’t concerned with it being stripped—but liked the deal and happy to be getting all my contracts back to the same use year.

Welcome to the neighborhood! We had never stayed at VGF before buying in, we just knew we wanted to be in that location with 2 bedrooms. Best decision we ever made.
 

📊 July 2025 = The Great ROFR Reset!​

We’re talking 26 buybacks across 9 resorts—the most we’ve seen all year. Beach Club, Boardwalk, Boulder Ridge, Copper Creek, Saratoga Springs, and even Vero Beach all saw ROFR activity for the first time in a while.

DVC is clearly watching the resale market closely... and making moves.

What triggered it? Some contracts sold well below average resale prices—like Copper Creek at $118/pt (vs. $136 avg) and Vero Beach at a wild $37/pt.
