ROFR Thread July to Sept 2024 *PLEASE SEE FIRST POST FOR INSTRUCTIONS & FORMATTING TOOL*

I think this is okay to post...

Has anyone else noticed that the site sponsor has now defaulted to new listings being presented as the seller paying 2024 dues, even with full 2024 points on hand or even banked 2023 points? Is this a philosophical change, or is this something they always do towards the end of a calendar year?
I saw that too and I also think this is something that happens most of the time anyway at this point in the year. I just signed a contract where seller pays 2024 dues and they didn't even hesitate at that. It was not advertised that way, but I specified it in the offer. Once they send it to ROFR I will post the thread for it.

Ok, here we go. I don't think it's a bad deal. Especially since I am paying no dues until 2025. Hopefully will go through in enough time I can either last minute use or rent the 100 that will expire 2/28/25.

I think this is a great deal with loaded points and no 2024 dues. Nice job!

nice one! you should add in your string that seller is paying 2024 dues

They can’t pull points from a separate UY to fill a waitlist. So it only works if you have a lot of points in multiple UYs.
Gotcha, is it the same at 7mo? (I assume I can use them all for waitlist then)

It’s is normal because dues are calendar year for ownership and not based on UY and points available, even though resale tends to support that.

Any contracts that would be closing now could very well be in December when the buyer wlll be required to pay the 2025 dues upfront.

The contracts I sold in the fall never included reimbursement for 2024 dues for this reason.

I haven't experienced using different UY yet, but i have heard some "pros" about being able to have more waitlists. :)

Each membership gets up to two waitlists so you do get more, but not for the same reservation.

Where it works is if you don’t care which membership you are using to make a reservation. Then it is a plus.

But, it’s not like you can have four to replace one single trip you booked on just one membership.

The full amount of points have to be available in the membership ID that has the waitlist. I just got a BW GV filled (inside 7m) and they called me to confirm how I wanted to do it.

I asked if I could transfer from my AUL MAR membership ID to my BW/VGF FEB membership ID and they said no, the points had to already be in the membership ID of the waitlist or it would be released and go to the next person on the waitlist.

Not an issue if you are going between reservations with a similar number of points, but I like to have a room booked with the more expensive #buywhereyouwanttostay points and then use SAP+ points for YOLO upgrades inside of 7m.

Much more difficult for me to do with my SAP+ in a different membership ID than my WDW points.

I noticed as well. I’m in the process of selling a contract and did not specifically state that I would and it was listed as such (I didn’t care since I assumed I would since there weren’t any 2025 points anyway but definitely noted the change in language).

jwalker79---$130-$9636-70-BWV-Feb-0/23, 0/24, 140/25, 70/26-international seller- sent 9/16

Saw this pop up on Friday and jumped on it with a full price offer, which is probably a few bucks more than I'd have wanted, but it matched my UY and didn't want to nickel and dime and lose out on it, especially on a small contract.

Preppy36---$95-$15935-160-AKV-Dec-0/22, 0/23, 143/24, 160/25-Seller pays 2024 MF- sent 7/23, passed 8/27

How long is it taken for points to appear in website?
We actually closed two contracts around your ROFR pass date with deeds recorded not long after that.

Still waiting on welcome emails… been going on 3 weeks now and was told it could take up to 5. Data from the Closing thread referenced also shows similar timing (3-4 weeks)

Nice deal btw!
