How does a title company refund deposit if Disney exercises their ROFR? Do they just refund credit card or do they send a physical check?

this datapoint worries me. I have 140 point loaded contract at $100 that was sent on 2/3 that i'm still waiting on answer. Maybe this is the universe telling me to just top up my BLT points instead...

I was have been told on two separate occasions that some VGC points were available, but only for the FEB UY. So, the ability to change the UY is not universal.

This is very interesting to me. Given that most sophisticated DVC owners will not book reservations in the last 2-3 months of their use year, you could imagine why DVC would want to push Feb points because there would be more likely to be breakage over Thanksgiving, Christmas, and NYE peak periods...but I seriously doubt that VGC gets much breakage in any event. Were both times you were told only Feb was available in Feb? If so, that would point to them knowing that they don't have to sell a contract with an extra year of points because someone else will come along to snatch it up.

I think the reason is because a quirk of when the DEC points load for that UY on the calendar vs when the points were for sale.

Stripped contracts will have FEB load earliest in the calendar year.

I guess that makes sense. The idea being that they don't have 2024 UY points to give at all so they are only selling UYs that are in the 2025 year?

I have spoken to a guide one time a couple weeks ago and he knew my use year is Sept on a resale and said that would be my direct use year but that was for what they are actively selling which was poly cabins ssr and akl. I have read numerous times here if you make it a deal breaker they will often come back and give you your choice. But maybe sold out resorts where Disney has less points are different.

They’ve been taking a lot of these AKL this month. We sent one 1/29, and I’m surprised several people after us have heard already. We’re still waiting, not sure if that is good or bad.

I had mine taken in October at day 26. Next one took only 17 days to pass but that was international seller. I think it’s random. If they have someone waiting for that specific contract profile they will grab it.
