The data shows a significant imbalance in use years so I don’t think it’s a problem for them to change the use year however I think some use years are probably in disneys favor and they push those.

I was have been told on two separate occasions that some VGC points were available, but only for the FEB UY. So, the ability to change the UY is not universal.

That could be based on timing and how many points they have available in different years.

If they didn't have 2024 points to sell (for whatever reason) then the only UY they could have offered recently was FEB, as all others would have included 2024 points.

Agreed. But it’s an example that they can’t just change it to whatever they want to on a “sold out” resort.

I asked if they could sell me DEC UY points and not include the 24 points and they said they could not.

That might just be a process problem. If there isn't an established process to not grant "current" points aside from MB, then they won't do it.

The other way to think about this: Just because DVD can do something that does not mean they always will. It's not like they won't sell those VGC points quickly to someone else.

I was seeing posts of people that sent after me passing with same broker and title company and I was like what gives Asking little questions here and there so they wouldn't forget about me So now my dvc guide knows I passed ROFR and I'm looking to buy direct after closing. He said he would monitor when I was updated as a member on his end, so I'm *hoping* maybe that will load me up faster.

They're not going to book me any welcome home stay on these resale points for September so I need to get on that. The good thing is im going for one bedrooms so at least I'll have a chance at something I want

But the don’t have to change it if they don’t want to. For example, right now, if they are Feb UY, they start with 2025 points…all others get 2024.

But even if it did, they don’t have to make that change.

ETA: I just saw you responded above. To me, it not selling it is different than not being able to change it.

Did you send it on 1/14 or 1/24? For some reason I remember yours because I think we have the same International Seller for SSR. I'm hoping I hear back from ROFR today, so this gives me hope!

Just pointing out that DVC did change the rules and if they want to sell somone a contract and that person needs a different UY, DVC can make it happen if they have the points to do so.

It sounds like either you needed a UY that needed points the points they had in stock in a Feb UY didn't have, or they simply didn't want to change it.....

For example, DVC taking back a fully loaded contract with a June UY doesn't mean they are forced to resell it as June....they can sell it for any UY that fits the situation of points on hand.

Yup. It makes sense. I just wanted to provide the data point that just because they have direct points it doesn’t mean they can always match the UY you want at a low point inventory resort.

So if it was the 38 points, it's very possible those couldn't be changed and thats why they came back and I was able to buy them. I needed a Feb UY

$330 unfortunately. And since Feb UY just began no extra points.
