First American as well, I am going to use the e notary! I’m just in South Africa and the whole printing, fedexing shenanigans is not happening on vacation. Never mind wiring money.
What did you do about the SSN that they supposedly want?
You have until the closing date (in your original contract) to submit documents.
You would only need a SSN or ITIN if you purchased from a non-US citizen. If you did this MUST be disclosed to you at time of purchase.
And if so, please make sure you have the title company provide you proof that they paid FIRPTA to the IRS otherwise the IRS will be billing you for it (15% of purchase price).
