Yesterday I got the email:
Papihavana---$70-$8296-100-SSR-Apr-0/15, 0/16, 100/17, 100/18- sent 2/10 received 2/17 & taken 3/22.

In a way I am sad but relieved... Sad, because I really wanted those 100 points and relieved because I don't have to come up with monies and payment for closing on both at the same time. The good news is that I got them for the price I wanted regardless of not being able to use it right away. This year I can borrow 100 points and save 100 points for next and in 2019 I'll have 200 points to use!

Papihavana---$70-$8296-200-SSR-Apr- 0/16, 0/17, 200/18, 200/19- sent 2/26 passed 3/6

Congratulations! Can you advise if you reimbursed the Seller for any, or all, of the 300 2017 points (including banked) or did the Seller pay for all? Thank you

Generally you don't reimburse a seller for points from previous UYs. I would imagine that, of the $1556 extra paid ($15056-($90*150)), the buyer paid $933 dues on the current 150 UY points (150*$6.22) and the remaining $623 would be closing costs.

Just a guess though. You know what they say about what happens when you make an assumption... (you make an *** out of U and MPTION. ;) )

ScubaCat was close, just had the wrong annual dues per point for VWL. We are paying ($90x150)+($6.54x150)+$575=$15,056. $90 being the per point clost. $6.54 being the 2017 annual fee per point for VWL, and $575 being the closing costs. Seller paid for the annual dues for th 2016 banked points and they are not included as a specific cost in the transaction. The price per point will likely be higher if you get a loaded contract so you pay for them that way.

I'm curious about this too - I'm about to conclude week 3 waiting on estoppel... :surfweb::coffee::confused3:surfweb::coffee::confused3:surfweb::coffee::confused3:surfweb::coffee:

I'm hoping to book a trip in November so I'm extra anxious as we're rapidly approaching 7 months out from the latest dates in my possible vacation window (factoring in at least 2 weeks from closing to points loading). Probably it's just Disney dragging their feet, right? How much juju is there between the different brokers/closing agencies?

We're using dvcbyresale, who uses Timeshare Title & More as the title company. All of their documents laid out a timeline that could have been 2 weeks longer, so they are faster than that. I just wanted it to be even faster, so we can start hunting for a January marathon reservation :thumbsup2

After checking my email obsessively multiple times a day for the last several days, I just got an email that Disney waived ROFR on our contract! I had been scouring the resale websites looking for backup contracts and resigning myself to losing this contract. WHEEE!!

And yes, I *am* a crazy person because it was sent 3/14 and passed 3/23.

Congrats! My email is sadly very empty right now even though I keep checking! We submitted the same day so hopefully I hear something soon!

Second try after SSR contract was taken, hopefully less likely to take AKV:

b2k1121---$75-$13056-160-AKV-Aug-0/16, 191/17, 160/18- sent 3/24

I'm really hoping yours goes through!! I actually made an offer on that one but I think I was too late :) We signed a different one today that was very similar and I hope it goes to ROFR soon!

It's been a pretty quiet week for ROFR on this thread both with passing and being taken. Maybe they're on skeleton staff and a lot of people are on vacation. Haha.
and they were going crazy for the last couple of weeks. Maybe ramping up for the new CCV

Our offer of $87 per point 150 point contract at SSR was accepted and has now gone to Disney for ROFR. Fingers crossed we make it through!

Good luck to you as well! Surprised that one was still available when I found it and contacted them assuming it already had an accepted offer.

I thought the same, so I wasn't surprised when they said they already had an accepted offer and a back-up one waiting haha Did you see it in an email or on the site?

I never saw it in an email and was actually browsing the listings just to get an idea what the current asking prices were for when the email did come. Actually had planned to go with SSR but reconsidered when we saw that one even with the higher maintenance fees.

Update, Mickey took our (loaded) contract. Time to try again, thinking BLT this time.

They are still lovin' OKW! It stinks when you loose a contract. They made you wait a bit too, so sorry. better luck next time.

Saw this article on FB from a dvc resale company

With 17 buy backs, Saratoga Springs represented over half of the buy backs in February for DVC Resale Market. Saratoga Springs was followed by 5 at Old Key West and 4 at Boardwalk. The graph below shows the year-to-date buy back numbers. From the graph you can see a heavy concentration of buy backs at Disney World based properties with the exception of the newest two, Grand Floridian and Polynesian.

YTD-chart-2.28.17-compressed-V2.jpg

Very similar to January there was a strong correlation with having all or at least most of the 2017 points available. In January, 87% (20 of 23) contracts bought back had all or most of the 2017 points available and in February, 89% (33 of 37) had high point availability for 2017.
