Who was your agent? We are waiting on our closing and are on a tight timeline to utilize the expiring points banked from 21 into 22. We are going in May and wanted to add a night or two at SSR.

I received confirmation that the sellers documents were there Monday and wired money the same day so hopefully we officially close this week.
It was Carrie at https://www.firstam.com/. She was great throughout the process until things got quiet at the end. I think there was an assistant in the mix that wasn’t keeping up with the communication as well.

Thanks! Working with Amy myself and she's been fantastic - some of the best communication I've had from anyone. I'm just impatient so trying to find other data points :)

Hoping we close either today or tomorrow and points dont take more than a week or two.

How do you know when the sellers sign the initial paperwork? Do you get an automated message that all parties have signed? The contract is with fidelity if that matters.

You get notified the contract has been sent to ROFR….and that lets you know that both parties have signed.

Is it International? The one international contract that we bought took a long time as the contract required a notary.
I'm not sure how I would know if it was an international seller - all I have is their names? Is that something I would be told up front?

I guess I needed a second contract before my first DVC purchase closed 😬

Will now own at Polynesian and Beach Club. I was hesitant because of the 2042 expiration but since it’s not a ton of points, I felt good about it. Excited to get access to these points and start vacation planning.

you should be told if the seller is international because there is an extra form at closing that needs to be populated for tax purposes. when i purchased from an international seller, the listing specifically called it out and before submitting the offer the broker made sure i was 'ok' with it being international.

Good info to know - in that case, no the seller must be domestic. Thank you!

I've been reading around here for a while, and it's been so helpful! So thought I'd finally make an account and share my info :)

I sent about 2 dozen lowball offers before getting to this one. I could've kept looking, but I liked how loaded this contract was, so I went for it. We'll be able to cancel a cash stay in August that would've cost about $2k and use the banked points from '21 instead.

For those holding out for low cost contracts. Keep trying! I also had a seller agree to $88pp but the UY couldn't work for me.

Well here we are one year later and we are buying another contract! We just couldn’t resist the prices right now. I mean did we really NEED more points? 🤪 Well we did want SAPs and decided Saratoga was the best choice for us!

I know Saratoga gets a lot of shade as a resort of last choice…🙃 However, my daughter and I stayed there in December and loved it! We will use it primarily for our girls only trips and adult trips!

Why does Saratoga get a lot of shade?? I know next to nothing about the WDW resorts but I'm just curious.

I'm nosy and googled the names of our sellers. Not much internet presence, per se, but unique enough names that I did find them so I saw the state they reside in and their rough ages. Ha!

Great contract

Congratulations

Saratoga was sometimes referred to as resort of last resorts. Partly this term came from the fact that it was big enough it’s often the last one available so you could book often short notice. Others critique it as it’s one of the resorts that are bus only to parks and it’s fairly spread out so transport isn’t as desired as other comparable deluxes. That said post refurb I’ve heard lot of good things and many people I know who stay there really like it.
