Everyone, I'm so excited! This is our first contract 💗

Quick question for those who are in the know! There are (7) 2025 points, and being an October UY we need to bank by May 31. Do you think we will close and get the points loaded before then in order to bank them ourselves, or should we ask the seller to bank them?
If you don’t close quick enough, call member services and explain the situation. Be respectful and courteous and they may be able to make magic happen. It’s been reported they have bent the rules for contract acquisitions that are slightly past the banking deadline

We went through a similar situation last year. We asked the sellers to bank the points for us and they obliged without issue.

Also, love your username.

We are currently in the Oct 2024 UY. If those 7 points are 2025 UY, then you have until May of 2026 to bank.

Have the people who hate on SSR stayed at SSR? It was our first stay because it was all that was left and it was fantastic, we loved it so much. Got our new contract as SAP but also because we would be very happy there.
Same here, we really enjoy it. The only knock against it for me is that it’s bus only transportation. Other than that, the renovation is fantastic, it’s quiet, walking distance to Disney springs, fantastic pools and community center/activity spot. We also don’t mind walking a few minutes and like that it isn’t all cramped together/long hallways. We love it.

We’ve definitely used those points to stay many other places (VGC, BLT, AKL and BWV and poly coming up) but it never feels like a letdown to stay at SSR.

Well--don't mean to offend any SSR lovers--but I think the SAP / SSR designation is mostly for people who never stay at SSR and are looking for the most economical deal for seven month points. And the SAP+ at BLT I've always taken to mean two things: some of these people would be more willing to actually stay at BLT and use them (+) at the eleven month mark from time to time and also the contract time (+) is a little longer. Dues are similar. But the cost for BLT is around $130 now, compared to $90-95 for SSR, though if you shop around maybe you can do better. So you need to think if either of those pluses is worth another $35 per point.
Got it! Thanks for explaining.

Our first contract passed ROFR, so happy. Thanks to this forum, it’s been really useful reading about everybody’s experiences and advice.

Love AKL. Congratulations!

Is there a time frame they need to decide on ROFR, or can this sit on their stack for months until closer to closing?

They have to be given at least 30 days but can take up to the closing.

While technically, a broker could put in a closing date of just after that, I don’t think many would and as a seller, I always insisted on 60 days minimum.
