@Galactic Reversal great job on the site! Its very well done. I'm a web app developer (and data nerd), and had ideas to something similar. Of course having an idea is easy. You actually executed on it, unlike me 🤣 If you ever need a collaborator, let me know I think it's a great tool for our little community.

One data point I think would be cool to have is the listed price on the contract. It would be interesting to compare that to the actual price the contract sold for. Of course that would involve a change to the tool that creates the strings so it may not be feasible. Just a thought

I used the tool and corrected my post where I passed ROFR. The last time I posted a contract (which admittedly was 2017) I just had to type it. So my apologies to you for not following instructions! :flower3: You do such a great job with this thread, and I appreciate all you do!

Ah, thanks for the kind words and thanks for all your work organizing this thread! It has taken quite a bit of time as I my background is in financial modeling and data, not so much web design. Thank goodness for ChatGPT!

The leaderboards are buried a bit at the bottom of the individual home resort pages, I'll keep them there so you aren't tempted :)

Thanks that means a lot coming from someone with your background! Honestly the website part is a bit cobbled together with all the easiest tools I can find and chatGPT helping me with the code. I have some ambitious ideas that would be a cinch to build in a spreadsheet, but are taking me forever to figure out how to implement on the site. I probably didn't pick the best platform (Google Sites) for building complex tools. Thanks for your offer, if I get stuck I will definitely reach out!

Agree on your idea about the data strings, you could then look at trends in the spread between list and purchase price to get a read on the market. In a perfect world the data strings would have some more info (broker, split out initial MF, split out initial closing costs) but I think there is value to keeping it consistent. The fact that the format hasn't changed for years made pulling historicals much easier. Also, more complexity adds to the confusion when people are trying to generate their string. So many people don't use the string tool...I think they just don't always know it exists? Even scraping the curated quarterly lists I still had to make hundreds of manual corrections to strings because a hyphen or a comma was out of place

That reminds me... @pangyal I'm working on a tool that scrapes the thread daily for potential strings. I added a section to the homepage that will have all the updates from the past week. Just FYI in case it helps you with your process. The only time it won't work is if someone goes back and edits their data string in a post before your last update. To that end, I would suggest you make your life a little easier by encouraging people to make a new post with "update:" any time they are revising their data string rather than going back and editing prior posts. You have a tough job as it is keeping up with all this!

I'm wondering the same. We were just approved for OKW and speculated if someone was up that we just don't know yet. It made the shorter ~20 year contract stand out a bit more, but that's also bias speaking lol
