Is the potential blackout dates the only difference in benefits between the Gold and Premier? I had a Premier this past year but hoping

Congrats! It does seem like recently some of the contracts have been taking longer to pass. Before it seemed like most over 14 days were taken and those passing knew in the 10-14 window. I am at day 13 right now. Didn't have any thought it would be taken but now starting to wonder a little.
Yeah, I kind of accepted that it was probably being taken and just starting looking at the resale sites again so I could hopefully put in an offer as soon as I found out.

The benefit of the Premier is that it's Disneyland, California Adventure, and WDW, all with no blackouts. Gold is just WDW, I believe.

For those of you that don't live in CA, remember there is a Southern CA pass which is a DL park hopper 3-day ticket, sea world, lego land, and can add on San Diego zoo. That's what we are doing when we go. It saved our family of 4 over $600, no joke. I actually priced it out. If we are flying all the way to CA from here which is a 3.5-4 hour flight, then we will stay a little bit longer and see it all! It's a separate site that works with all those parks listed. Also, if you go during non-summer months, it is super cheap to stay in San Diego even though the weather is basically the same temp. People don't think about the beach during anything but SB and summer, so we got a crazy good deal on a waterfront condo there. It's double the price in the summer (as most of them are). Maybe will inspire people to buy VGC! I'm joking, I'm joking.

Don't we wish. For both DL and WDW you need the "Premier Passport" for the low, low price of $1439. (On the bright side, no ROFR. :lmao:)

Yes, I currently have the Premier passport... really sorry, but is this different than what I said? I'm getting confused :/

So Scuba is there a difference between Gold Pass and Premier except the blackout dates? I just always thought the Gold Pass was like a discounted version of Premier for FL and DVC, but they held some dates out.

Okay, I think what's happening is that there's confusion between Platinum and Premier. I think @Aron1012 meant the Platinum pass all along, and @ScubaCat thought I was talking about the Platinum pass , meanwhile I had no idea there was such thing as a Platinum pass :hyper2: To answer the question, I put a list of the APs below. The difference between Platinum and Gold appears to be just blackout dates, but Platinum Plus has more perks. Here's a link that compares all of the WDW-Specific passes: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/florida-residents/passholder-program/

WDW Annual Passes are:

Platinum Plus
Platinum
Gold*
Silver*
Weekdapy Select*
Epcot after 4*

*For Florida residents only, blackout dates apply.

Premier Passport:

Access to Disneyland, California Adventure, all WDW parks - no blackouts

Yes you are correct I was thinking about difference between Platinum and Gold

We're going for broke!

TexasChick123---$102-$26003-250-BLT-Sep-0/16, 179/17, 250/18-Seller Pay 1/2 of MF on remaining 2017 Pts. and Seller paying CC- sent 4/10

I think there is maybe a 5% chance of this one making it out of ROFR. We had a particular number of points in mind that we wanted to add, and wanted to split them between VGF and BLT. If this one gets taken, I am DEFINITELY taking a break for a while and just going to enjoy my increased VGF points. This stuff adds up quickly. We couldn't let such a good deal just pass at the other resort we wanted. If this one makes it out of ROFR, I am done adding on, at least for quite a few years if not forever!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you but thinking as you are that the mouse will grab it. Margaritas always waiting for you in San Antonio and Fiesta will be happening next week which could help ease the pain if it gets taken !:flower1:

Here we go again

Huskerfanatic7---$117-$20041-160-BLT-Aug-0/15, 45/16, 131/17, 160/18- sent 4/14

Good luck ! History says this should go through but....with Disney you never know !

Thank you. You've got to stay there. It's such a great DVC. I think the DVC rooms are nicer than the GF hotel rooms, and I've stayed in both!

Thank you!

I wish it had club level as an option though. I got spoiled having club level at GF last year when we went. Didn't ever have to buy snacks or drinks and we were able to eat breakfast and late lunch in the club before kids took naps.

Now to make the business case to DH for a 25-point direct add on in the near future....

If you are planning on buying APs, then the 25 point direct add on is almost a no brainer (assuming you can use the 25 points -- and who can't?). You save $200 per person on the APs, plus you get food and merchandise discounts you wouldn't otherwise get.

And if that is not enough to convince him.

You also get a "free" tote bag!

I think my wife is getting a little disney'd out. I might have to start vacationing with you guys. I like your style.
