ROFR info from member administration

I just hung up the phoe with member administration. I sold an AKV contract. DVC stepped in and exercised their rights of first refusal. I questioned the representative on Disney's decission to purchase my points. (we have the option to, and are considering keeping them). I was told by the rep that she has been seeing "Many weird things in the last few months", regarding Disney exercising ROFR. So how can this be read into. Is point inventory drying up with no future projects in the works? Is there another point increase in the works? Disney seems to be looking for points to sell.

With a comment that vague it's almost impossible to read anything into it.

For years there have been many oddities about the entire ROFR process. I've read many claims from potential buyers who believe they were ROFRed because they had spoken extensively with DVC reps before deciding to buy resale. The claim is that DVC may have intentionally targeted these folks for ROFR thinking it will move them back to a direct purchase.

DVC doesn't have to explain its motives so there could be any number of contributing factors. Although with millions of points unsold at AKV, BLT, SSR, VGC and soon Hawaii, I doubt DVC is throwing caution to the wind simply to reacquire more points. Price will still play a major role in their decisions.

DVC has always used ROFR more to keep you guessing than to have a set buy back point. I've seen a contract get bought back under ROFR and then the exact same contract but better points availability go through at a lower price within a week or 2 and vice versa.
