Hi everyone,

We are off to Dis at Xmas (16th Dec) for 2 weeks and although I have been to Disney previously the family have never visited a rodeo and wondered if any of you guys have? I think I read somewhere that it's in Kissimee? Is it worth a visit and would the gran parents and kids enjoy it?

Also on the same sort of theme, would any of you guys know a good family bar/restaurant in the Dis area that is western themed and maybe does barn dancing or the like? I know that there is one at Church Street Station but I would love to hear of any others.

Thanks guys

I seem to recall that Spottydog did a report on the Kissimmee rodeo in one of his last reports......go to Trip Report threads.

Didn't seem overly impressed as I remember.

The rodeo was OK but a bit repetative. Once you had seen someone falling off a cow or horse you didnt need to see it dozens of times. Julie thought it was cruel when they were roping the calfs and pulling their legs until they fell over and then tying them up. We left after an hour at half time as did a lot of the crowd.

The rodeo is off my list of things to do, thanks for the great discription. It really wouldn't be our type of evening out....guess I was just imagining cowboys and horses without all the roping and poor little baby cows.

You are all so helpfull and save so much time on holiday that could so easily be wasted. Thanks again.

If you like horse shows, you could try the Arabian nights. We went in February and all enjoyed the show, an arabian theme with lots of different stunts on beautiful horses.

Dinner and unlimited drink is included in the ticket price, although the food was not great! A tip we didn't know about is to request children's meals if your kids don't like rare steak and roast potatoes as there is no choice over the menu when you arrive.

Try www.arabian-nights.com

Hope you enjoy it!
