***ROCKSTAR: Supernova*** (spoilers welcome)

I think his good-bye was extremely snarky too.

At first I thought the same thing, but then I remembered his original song which I thought was much better than the three we have heard from Supernova. I'm not saying I would be a fan, but I think Ryan might have enough fans if he was to make a serious push on his own. Supernova on the other hand might not go far beyond the upcoming tour no matter who they pick given the mediocre songs. In fact I'm starting to wonder why I care given the songs we have seen "previewed".

Does anyone else get the feeling that none of the remaining singers are right for Supernova?

I'm glad Storm is still around. She is interesting and although I don't think she is going to win, she adds something to the show. However, does anyone else think that sometimes she acts manly? Sometimes she does stuff and I think, "I think she wants to be a man". (Not that there is anything wrong with that, its just weird) I don't know how to describe it, she is definitly an interesting person.

Funny you said that, because during her Helter Skelter performance last night, I kept thinking, "She looks and acts like Kid Rock!" (Prettier, of course)

Declan'sDad - Maybe we aren't watching the same show. I can understand every word everyone else sings, but can't decipher a word that Lukas sings. If he's singing something I'm not familiar with - like Supernova's new song - I'm completely lost.

I'm really not a Lukas hater. I have a soft spot for him - as a person. But as a singer, his voice isn't that strong and he's marginally talented at best. That being said, he'll probably win this competition. Here's what got me off on the wrong foot with him to begin with: Remember back to the first or second show, and the contestants were all sitting around the mansion talking? And Lukas zeroes in on poor little Dana, very melodramatically, saying something like, "So, tell me, my sweet. (dramatic pause) southern. (dramatic pause) belle. What makes you think that you can be a rockstar?" He perceived her as the weakest of the pack and went after her. Of course, this is classic behavior for someone who has no self esteem - so they must steal someone else's.

Lukas left his glamorous job at Hooter's for this show. If I'd been Dana, I would have been like, "Shut up and go make me some wings, Skippy!"

I haven't been thrilled with any of the contestants, consistently. It's been a bleak, boring season for me. Yet, I can't look away!

I agree with Ryan going home last night! I would be upset going home too ~ but I think he was a little too cocky telling SuperNova that he was the best fit, and for them to watch for him on the top of the charts cause that is where he will be. I thought he spent too much time thinking about what to do/where to climb/where to go next last night during his performance.

Aussie Boy Toby I think will be totally lost on his own ~ don't think he will front the band. A few weeks back, I think it was Dilana that went out in the crowd....he was up after her and did the same thing after she got great praise for that. Tuesday's show Magni went up in front of SuperNova.....and they said they only wished he had continued up to the people behind them ~ during encore (which I don't think he deserved!) Toby did the same thing, but continued on to those people. (Those are just a couple things I remember right off hand.) Come on Toby ~ come up with something all on your own..... I don't think he could make it through an entire concert either as he could hardly breathe after last night's performance.

MAGNI, MAGNI, MAGNI!!!!! So glad to see you as the only one not in the bottom three last night ~ and the one with the MOST VOTES so far!!!!!!! Way to go buddy ~ keep up the good work!! Sing on brotha....

Storm ~ still love ya girl.....but last night was definately not your best. She sounded like she was a tad horce or something ~ don't like her being a screamer like Ryan is. Get it back girl ~ you rock!!

Dilana ~ she was horrible last night. I think her days may be numbered.....SuperNova looked less than impressed last night while she was up. I don't think she could make it through an entire concert either....she is so out of breathe after one song. What the heck is up with her flipping a gizzard when the cameras came near her....she totally flipped ~ threw her glass/bottle which in turn injured Magni. Like Lukas said ~ what if that had hit his eye instead of his head?? Dilana ~ go away, the band certainly doesn't need a short fuse like you!

Lukas.....sorry but he still creeps me out. I was less than impressed when he was fronting the band last night. You cannot understand him ~ he is just awful.....JMHO!

Bring on next week.....

Ryan - such a poor loser :sad2:

Both Storm and Dilana sounded horrible last night but please remember they tape the elimination show at 9:00am in the morning - I don't know how anyone could rock out at 9:00 in the morning.

Well, I thought Lukas looked GREAT with Supernova and sounded GREAT. :thumbsup2 BOOYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are the lyrics for those of you who couldn't understand Luke when he sang:

IT'S ON:

I feel suspended, reckless,
Going through the motions
Inside, outside
Waiting for the cause
The desperate measures
But I don't measure nothing
All the pain is left inside
Nowhere else to go

All your faces
Nothing changes
Come out from it all

Let it shine on
Leave me when the day is dawning
And all the light is gone
Let it shine on
You run and hide the dark inside
What little light is left
You look down on

The senseless screaming from their pensions
Looking forward, not to find at all
Looking through lenses nothing really cleanses
Raindrop visions roll the cloud away

All your faces, darken places
Come on, come on, from it all

Let it shine on
Leave me when the day is dawning
And all the light is gone
Let it shine on
You run and hide the dark inside
What little light is left
You're running from

Wanna fade away
Burn the records I can't play
You'll never make the same mistakes you have made before
Nothing changes, can't you take this
Left to rock

Let it shine on
Leave me when the day is dawning
And all the light is gone
Let it shine on
You run and hide the dark inside
What little light is left

Ooh, ooh, ooh,
Shine on
Just shine on
You run and hide the dark inside
The little light left you
And shine on

Maybe it is our tv but we have never been able to understand what many of the contestants are saying except for Storm.

As for he comment towards Dana in the beginning, I think he was right because she certainly isn't a rockstar and I could never figure out why she was there in the first place. He hasn't been the only one to do something like that and in his defence at least he said it to her face.

Who really knows?? It is editied and I don't relly think that showing disappointment is a bad thing, he REALLY wanted to win..... he has always had that "angry" sort of look about him, ya know??

I thought your boy Lukas did a good job this week, both on his viewer choice and SN song!! :thumbsup2

I have noticed that on elimination night when they pick someone to sing with the band, that whole performance has the look of being "filmed" and not live....strange, but I say that everytime I see it..

YES!!! I have noticed that it has a "music-video" look to it .... It is a bit wierd... anyone else have a hard time with the audio ?? Sometimes I can't hear the singers but the music is extremely loud?? Just wondering :confused3

I agree about the look and I believe they switch to movie cameras that may have filters installed.

As for the sound, I blame the singer and if you can't understand them *cough-Lukas-cough* it's because the singer isn't singing clearly.

That's not entirely true - when I download Lukas' performances onto my MP3 player his voice is CRYSTAL CLEAR and you can hear every word (much better mix of music and the singers voice) - no mumbling at all but when I listen on performance night from the TV I too have trouble hearing him and the other rockers too sometimes - I do think it's the way it sounds on TV - it's NOT because anyone is mumbling.

They do that same type filiming on the MTV video music awards show too with the live musical acts - watch tonight and you will see the same kind of filming - don't know why they do that but it looks cool.

While I agree that it is edited.......I think Ryan came across way too cocky. IMHO he came across sounding more or less to be telling SuperNova that he will be a big star ~ and they will be nothing because they sent him packing. Of course he REALLY wanted to win ~ THEY ALL DO, that is why they are there! Yes, he has always had that *I'm gonna go postal* look to him!

I've avoided responding to your posts given how much you obviously like the guy. But I have to say that it's pretty out there to say he doesn't mumble. Look at how many people have said the same thing about him.

It's not even that much of a bad thing. Lots of lead singers went pretty far using the mumbling style. Personally Lukas reminds me of what you would get if you crossed Kurt Cobain with Robert Smith of The Cure. I think it's safe to say that mumbling didn't hold them back.

I'm NOT being defensive........I was just letting you know that the MP3' of all the ROCKERS performances sound better then they do on TV and it's because the mix between the band and singers voice is better.

Everyone has their own favorites and it doesn't bother me one bit whether anyone likes who I like or not. One person may think someone is mumbling and another doesn't - it's all good!! :thumbsup2

Well then it's only fair I give these MP3's a try and see what I think. Do you have a link?

But I have to say that I would be really surprised. I have felt that was his style long before the Supernova peformance. As somebody who has each of the Nirvana studio CD's, it's safe to say I don't have a problem with the style in general. :)

Anybody know if there is something that is limiting what songs they can perform on stage? I have found the song selection to be quite odd to say the least. Where's all the guitar based rock?

I get mine from this site:

It's kind of slow though - you have to be patient.

I don't know for sure.......but they are the same songs they used last year and it's getting old listening to the same songs over and over.

It's probably a licensing issue. Like why don't they get to sing some GNR, Metallica or Motley Crue - because those bands won't license their material probably.
