***ROCKSTAR: Supernova*** (spoilers welcome)

I agree that Patrice has got to go! She just doesn't match. Storm is next unless something major changes. She has a great voice, but that just isn't enough at this level!

Sorry but it did sound like a teeny pop song ;)

I agree that Storm is likely to be the next to go after Patrice if she doesn't shake things up a bit. Or it's possible it could be Toby because for some reason the guys seem to be much harder on them than the rest.

Based on the consistent comments by Dave and Supernova, I think the contest is going to be between: Magni, Lukas, Dilana, and Ryan. I'd prefer the final four to be Magni, Dilana, Storm, and Toby because I see them as a better fit.

For what it's worth:

Patrice: SEE YA!...what more can you say?

Magni: Be still my heart! I must have it bad for the sahved head guys but amn I want him to win (just like Chris on AI). Anyhoo...I LOVED his SLTS stint. Great vocals, a touch of angst. For me, I didn't need him to bash a guitar. AWESOME.

Ryan: I like this guy, I really do! The song was killer IMO. I did notice him botch a high note twice (once right at the end). But the guitar licks were terrific and the song was rockin AND sexy. I bet he gets the encore. Note to Ryan; it looked totally lame that you "smash" your guitar 5 minutes after Tommy says "I want somebody to smah something"...LAME (and the look on Magni's face was money!)

Dilana: I still dig her, but I was bored to death.

Storm: Like her too and she did a fab job on a notoriously tough to sing song. GOd knows I'VE tried hehehe...she made it work.

Toby: I disagree with (Gilby?) who said he didn't like the arrangement. NOBODY can out Clapton, Clapton, so I was really pleased with this version. He rocked it, he had fun! Finally made it look like he could be in the band (just do something about the baby-face). I am concerned that he said he wasn't comfortabel on stage after the song was done. Dude, that's part of the gig too!

Lukas: BLECH. Somebody tell him that this is Rockstar: Supernova, not Rockstar: The Cure. The growling, the back to the audience, the bored look on his face ALL the friggin time. I hated the song, I hated the performance, I hate that he's a skinny looking littel weasel. He just ain't MEATY enough for this band...

IMO though, bottom 3:
Patrice
Dilana (shocker)
Toby

Going home: Patrice, finally.

The encore: Ryan

Playing with Supernova: Magni/Ryan

I like to read Dave's blog because he's so detached from the show this year and I miss his interactions with the contestants. Anyhow it's interesting to read his thoughts on the performers just based on the performances and none of the other stuff that goes on. Here's the last 2 entries:

Toronto
After today's taping, I am going to Toronto for a couple for days with Steve Isaacs for some Panic business. I'll check in when I get there and we can recap tonight's elimination show. After seeing it on TV last night, I thought Patrice wasn't as good as she sounded in the room live, but her song might save her. Tommy said he could make it work. If it's not her, I really have no idea who would go tonight. We are getting to that point where they are all pretty good at what they do and they don't really need all that much direction anymore. They are who they are. I'd say that out of all of them, Ryan has benefited the most from our comments. He has taken them and adjusted his performances while still remaining true to who he is. That, is the name of the game! Although Toby did try to go for it and step up his performance, watching it back, it felt a little forced to me. I don't know, at least he is willing to take chances and try out new stuff. I commend him for taking such risks in front of millions of viewers like that. It's not like he has a little club tour to try things out each night and see what works. He has to just go for it on national TV. Lukas actually came across less engaging on TV last night than I remember with a lot of back to the audience. Gilby had a great point about that. The funny thing is, that even on his worst night, he is still leaps and bounds beyond some of the other contestants. Someone asked about how I can ask the questions I ask without seeing the webisodes. Well, if you notice the recap packages that roll before I ask the singers my questions, you can see that I am only asking them about what I have seen. We see the recaps in the studio on a large screen. I will tell you, however, that after reading your comments, I went and watched the whole webisode with Dilana's press clinic. Um... Yeah. Wow! That was really intensely stupid of her. I hope I get a chance to hammer her a little about that. If not on the show, I will grab her backstage and say, "What the hell are you doing? You are gonna crucify yourself here!" You NEVER talk **** about your peers! "But Dave, what about the K-Fed comments you made on Kimmel?" Well, all I can say to that is... There are exceptions!

RS:SN
Back into Rockstar stuff: I have been reading a lot about Dilana's attitude here in the comments. I have not watched the reality episodes online as my job is to give an unbiased critique of the performances only. I have no idea what these guys are like when they aren't on the show. I told Jimmy Kimmel last night that I stay as far away as possible from the contestants so I can remain impartial. As for the SN guys, I am sure that what they have seen outside of the main show is a factor in determining who they choose as their front person. After this week, there will be only six contestants remaining. This week should be interesting as two of the hopefuls are doing original songs tonight and we will be hearing another original SN song with a new voice on it tomorrow. My personal prediction for this week is that Patrice will go home. She is OK, but not really Rockstar material. I also think that Toby might have one foot out the door too, but I can't be sure. He is definitely good, I just have yet to see him give that one performance that makes me go, "Wow! This guy is awesome!" I have to hand it to Ryan. When this thing started I thought, "Not a chance" with this guy, but it appears he is holding his own. I think he is by far the most evolved competitor we have seen so far. Stormy? She is hanging in there. I'm not even concerned about her until the last stages. I think that it will ultimately come down to Lukas, Dilana or Magni as our final three. Of those three it is hard to say, but I would personally narrow it down between Lukas and Dilana. Honestly, I wouldn't be mad at either one of them winning this thing. This is all just an outsider's perspective mind you, I have no extra insights as to what the guys are thinking. I stay out of that and I don't want to know. As with last year, it is more fun for me when the decisions are revealed live and I learn who is going home along with everybody else. Sure, I could pump the SN dudes for info, but that would make my job boring.

After missing the results show last week (and being underwhelmed by the performance show I was able to catch), here is what I thought of last night's performances:

Patrice - missed her. Not too broken up. . . .

Magni: I thought he did the best job so far of anyone on either seson with a Nirvana song. I really liked it a lot. He's still my favorite to win. I thought TLee's guitar comment was kinds weird, since he was criticising many performers for being chained to their guitars.

Ryan: Liked the song, still hate him. Thought his guitar toss was rather cliche after TLee's comments to Magni. Whatever Ryan!

Dilana: I didn't like it at all. She so captivated me the first couple of weeks, but now, I am bored. I thought the song was really about stalking at its core, so I was hoping she'd go all nutso and make it rock, but it was really dull. And the lashes were odd and didn't make her eyes look larger at all. And what was up with saying her name during the song? - that made me cringe - how CHEESY!

Storm: She is still my personal favorite, but I get the feeling she is not really a contender anymore. TLee wants to get into her pants, and I don't think Gilby likes her much (while he obviously LOVES Dilana)

Toby: I liked his arrangement & thought it rocked hard. The removal of the hoodie was awkward, like he needed more practice to make it a smooth movement.

Lukas: Still don't like him. Still couldn't understand half of what he was singing. Still think he is short and trolly and too glam-looking (try out for the Darkness, dude). His singing to the band lost him MAJOR points with me as well.

Prediction for bottom three: Patrice, Storm and maybe Magni.
Bootee: Patrice

Who misses the Great Zayra? The show seemed a little emply with out her.

What did Tommy's comment to Lucas mean?

"CHECK PLEASE" - I've seen all I have to see now, we are done, check please, it's time to go on tour. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

My review from last night:

Patrice - Beautiful Thing - nice song but I agree with Dave, your better off a solo act.

Magni - Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana - TLee tells the rockers that he HATES when they get out there and stand still and play guitar not he's dissing Magni for NOT playing guitar.

Ryan - Back of your Car - Original song - ok to me - DH who is a musician thinks he's the best and would sign him today.

Storm - Cryin' Aerosmith - hated it

Dilana - Every Breath You Take - boring, boring, boring

Toby - Layla - Eric Clapton - thought he did good with the new arrangement.

Lukas - All These Things That I've Done The Killers - I didn't know the song at all but I love Lukas' stage presence. I agree with Dave, Lukas is miles above some of the other rockers. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

and to the poster who said something about Lukas being SHORT - he's 5'10" - that's NOT SHORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bottom Three: Patrice, Storm and Toby

Going Home: Patrice

Encore: Not sure

Playing with Supernova: Lukas

Just checked into their tour dates and came pretty close to buying a ticket, they will be in Orlando at the Hard Rock in January, thought it might also be an excuse to head up to the world for the day but at $100.00 (79.00 +12.00+2.00+ what ever outlandish price they will charge to mail the tickets) I just decided that I had better wait, I would hate to buy them and then Lukas gets the gig! not only that but for a unheard of band (other than it's famous member) I just don't think they are worth that kinda money yet! Heck I had a great seat for BonJovi and it was only $100.00 plus some great eye candy!

Wow that is a lot of money!
It's $35 and $45 for here. Which I still won't pay unless I like more of their songs and the singer they choose

I just checked here too and the tickets are $69.00 + all the fees - WOW, I won't pay that UNLESS I know who is their singer and by then I'm sure all the good seats will be gone.

I think we're all in agreement that patrice is the one that should go next...I really liked ryans song last night,if only he learned to keep his tongue in his mouth when he talks...dilanas performance was boring...usually love her. lucas has a good voice but seriously need to get an attitude adjustment, would like to see him in the bottom three . my favorite is magni, allthough as someone said on here before -he may not fit in because of the family thing...and yes tlee wants in storms pants!

I doubt Storm would get it on w/Tommy, unless she wants to get cozy with hepatitis. Besides, Navarro is sweet on her too.

I want to go on record as saying that if Lucas wins, I will never buy a single album of Supernova's (plus I will question their taste immensely!). I'd sooner buy an album of thiers if Patrice won (but that AIN'T happening).

I wonder what the original Supernova song tonight will sound like? Oh and can anyone tell me what songs are on the list for next week? I tried to get on the MSN site but we don't have all the Flash plug-ins needed to access it and since we use Linux, I can't figure out how to get them!! I want so badly to hear Magni tackle Nickelback.

Is he really? Cause I also think he looks...dare I say "petite" compared to the other guys. Maybe it's his small facial features?

It ain't so much that Lucas is short...he's SCRAWNY. I was watching the show and realized that's why he wears those stupid shiny/glittery jackets and goes monochromatic. At one point he swept his jacket back and you could see his toothpick-like legs and itty-bitty (dare I say girlie?) waist-line. Mick Jagger can pull of the sickly look but not Lucas.

Yup, I talk with a girl who attends the tapings each week, she has met Lukas on more than one occasion and she said she was wearing heels and is 5'8" in heels and he was still taller than her.

I thought the Supernova song last week was CHEESY!!! If they play another one like that tonight - I will NOT be a fan no matter who is signing for them.

I believe some of the rockers would do just GREAT on their own and don't need Supernova at all - Lukas being one of them.

explain the Dilana thing to me ?? She is good, and I really do like her, BUT again I do not feel she was amazing with that song ... also not sure I like her dressed up as a peacock :confused3

I thought Ryan was GREAT ... he is really growing on me... and of course would love for Toby to stick around, he is a cutie pie!! :thumbsup2

Sorry I offended you by calling Lukass short - he looks very small - maybe he is skinny and has a small head? Maybe it is his clothes choice?

I don't get the love for Dilana either, to me she's boring - she's ok but if you notice the SN guys have NEVER EVER given her any criticism - it's always LOVE from them - GAG ME!!!

I hated that she sang her name last night while signing that song....did anyone else catch that???
