Rocking chairs in the villas?

Has anyone asked for or been able to get a rocking chair? We will be at BWV for 12 nights with our almost 3 yr old DGD. We occasionally rock her at night to calm her. Sitting on the edge of the bed, doing sitting crunches is very hard after a day in the parks!

Anybody ever ask for one?

Hmmm... interesting. Is this a common thing that hotels offer? I've never heard of it.

Regarding DVC, I've never seen a rocking-chair in any DVC resort room.

Thanks for the link!

I've never seen them in any WDW property, either, but I thought I'd ask.

If you stay at the VWL there won't be one in your room but there are some down in the Villa's lobby that you can use. It's very cozy down there and as often as we've been there it's never really been noisy at all. There are also some on the porch outside the lobby and it's very nice out there as well. They're both very calming places to be after a busy day at the World.

Does anyone else think that the balconies at OKW "need" rocking chairs? They have them on the balconies at HH, but I think they "need" them at OKW too.

Rocking chairs at OKW? Wow, you're just teeing that one up for someone to take a swing at, aren't you! :teeth:

Granny you are so right - I will try to put a different spin on it OKW has the ambience and above all the room (except for the studios) on the balconies for a rocking chair. Just think, what a nice way to pass the time as the pigs feet cook while you watch the golf games and enjoy your beverage of choice! In 2042 I may "need" the rocker for my 99th birthday but until then I'll say rockers would be nice to complete the southern porch feel.
While they have them in many public areas at different resorts they may represent some additional liability if in the rooms or on the balconies.
To the OP if you have a car a quick trip to Target or Walmart and you could probably get an inexpensive lawn chair type rocker for less than a 12 day rental.
Hope you have a great trip and that everyone else has a wonderful day.

Hmmmm - Rocking chairs at OKW? Maybe the poster who considers OKW similar to a "retirement home" has a point! :earboy2: :rotfl2:

Best wishes-

Great idea, castleri! I could fold it up and keep it out of the way when I didn't need it, too!

There was a rocking chair on the balcony of our studio at HH (which was great), but I don't think I have ever seen one at WDW's DVC resorts.

On my very first stay at OKW, I saw someone checking in with a recliner!

I have a friend with sleep apnea who has to sleep in a recliner, so maybe it was for someone like that.

I think there were some rocking chairs on the balcony off the lobby at BWV
