For anyone at the World now, look to the east at 7:05am on Friday Dec. 5 and you might see the first launch of America's new Orion capsule.

The capsule (which is unmanned today) is launching on a Delta rocket so it should put on a nice show ... weather and fuel tank valves permitting. Yesterday's attempt was scrubbed. Enjoy!

We watched something like this from the lounge in the Contemporary resort, across from Chef Mickey's. It was a very exciting experience. Unfortunately it was the Columbia shuttle, and it broke my heart when it had such an unfortunate ending.

Sadly, the cloud cover was very thick this morning. No way to see it from my house. Fortunately, I've seen a lot of launches since moving to this area. Looking forward to the next.

We were at Kennedy Space Center this morning. It disappeared into the clouds not too long after take off. It was still great though!

I miss the shuttle launches and landings. I lived in Fort Lauderdale and on a clear day/night you could see the fire and smoke from 150 miles away. I now live in Sebring and the house would rattle as shuttle passed do to breaking sound barrier. If you weren't aware that it would be landing it startled you.
