So others may know what you are posting about.The lawsuit against Tyler is DAMNING!
What a headache for Disney!
It’s been news for years, but now that she actually filed a lawsuit against him, I can see the possibility of a retheming of the ride.Not sure how it’s damning when Tyler has admitted to it for years. Is it disturbing? Yes. (That woman is equally disturbing but that’s not a disboards allowed discussion). Tyler himself admitted to the relationship in 1997 but the ride opened in 1999, meaning it probably won’t retheme anything.

In Paris Rock 'n Roller Coaster has already been replaced by Avengers Assemble. For just that reason, the new crowds don't know Aerosmith well enough to justify a ride.Doing some quick math;
Tyler is 74
Relationship started when he was 27 and she was 16.
Victim in this case is now in her 60s.
IMHO, this does not rise to the level where this and only this would be the reason to re-theme RnRC. It's this, and the fact that Aerosmith is no longer relevant, and Disney is still paying the band royalties, and the ride will be shut down soon for repairs anyway. Add to that the rumor mill went into high gear and Disney has not said anything other than the ride needs regular maintenance. It sounds to me like Imagineering had better get to the drawing boards if they aren't already (and something tells me they have been for a while).

The parents horrify me the most here. How could they do this?
Doesn't have to be complicated, turn it into Cars. Racing Academy is right next door.But since they can't just copy that in Orlando because of the Marvel rights issues, they'd have to come up with a different alternative. And call me cynical but every time the rumor mill has started throwing out potential replacements for Aerosmith, it has been a batch of flash-in-the-pan Disney Channel and teen pop stars. No one that would be remembered in 5 or 10 years, never mind by future generations. But I also don't see Disney shelling out for the rights to someone not already tied to the company, so my guess is that nothing will change with the rehab (except, hopefully, that the ride might be able to get through a day without breaking down every now and then).
A Monsters Inc door coaster has also been mentioned as an idea a whole ton.Doesn't have to be complicated, turn it into Cars. Racing Academy is right next door.
You'll find similar stories about a ton of musicians from the 50s, 60s, and 70s.Anyway, back to musicians, I believe there is a similar story out there with Ted Nugent and a 14 y/o.
I don't know but it certainly was a different time and, heck, I knew a few 16 y/o's in the 70s who were legally allowed to marry (and to men in their early 20s). Saw it in the military. Guess it depends what the state laws are.

TImes and attitudes and the maturity of some girls were MUCH different in the 70s. I was 17 y/o and dated a 27 y/o musician (not famous but I thought he was cool). Granted, I had a December birthday and was in my freshman year of college when this started. Absolutely my choice and no regrets nor did I feel pressured, subjugated, etc. But we all know that 16 year olds never make the best decisions and adults shouldn't be participating in that.
We were much more independent and free roaming than today.
