Rock n Roller Coaster Rocks!

I finally rode this for the first time on 10/22 and loved it! Me, dh, dd and my nephew (he was the only one of us who had ridden before). What a blast! We learned quickly that you do have to be aware of your head...as the rest of your body just goes with the flow, you have to keep your head against the headrest or else your ears will get pummelled! Other than that, our only complaint is it's too short! I had to buy the ride pic, it cracked me up I'm in the back left seat...

I forgot to add the most important part...the pixie dust! My nephew was going to get a FP and a lady walked up to him and gave him a front of the line pass for 3 people! (we thought it was for 4, but more on that in a sec) So the four of us go to the FP line and the CM said it was for 3 people so I said you guys go ahead, then the CM taps me and handed me a pass so I got to go with them!

I agree - what a great coaster! We rode it for the first time a year ago, and DW vowed never to go on it again. So, when we were there 3 weeks ago I rode solo and got in the front row! What a rush - totally worth that day's admission!

This ride is alot of fun!!

This year my DH got stuck on the ride for awhile, but he didn't mind because he wasn't upside down while being stuck.

To recap the event:
I was outside with my girls (we have to do the parent swap thing) and we were waiting forever. We then started to see people walking away from the entrance to ride and they were talking amoungst themselves on how the CM told them the ride was down and they could come back in a couple of hours. I then called my DH on our two-way Nextel and said, "Are you stuck on the ride?" and he responded, "yep". I asked, "are you upside down?" He responded, "No, but the lights are on and it looks pretty cool in here." Then in about 15 minutes we finally saw him.

It was the take off that did it for me. I can not remember any of the rest of the ride.

This year DH and both DD's are riding it and I am certain they will convince me to try it again. How do I cooly survive the start of the ride so I can enjoy the rest of it?

I don't know but, the take-off is the best! My reaction is to usually laugh on thrill rides but, I scream through the take-off on this one.

Ok, I know this is a really stupid question, but with well-fitted glasses is there a possibility of losing them on this ride? I would be so freaked out if they got lost. I can't see a bloody thing without them and they're really cool.

The ride really does "Rock"!! It is my favorite. The best part is the anticipation before the take off.

Sitting there in the car, hands gripping tightly to the metal bars. You look up to the screen and you hear Aerosmith come on. The crowd in the background screaming with Aerosmith. Then you hear him yell. You see in the screen the flasing images. He yells the countdown, 3, 2, 1!!! You see the red light turn green and suddenly the car yanks you back in your seat as you hear the car wheels skid!!

I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!

This past summer my sister and I went to MGM first thing. Just as the rope dropped it started pouring VERY hard. My sister and I ran into the store and bought a couple ponchos. One for each of us. Then, we headed straight for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Sunset Blvd. was completely emptied. The only person there was a man closing up his vendor. The rain was so hard it covered my feet entirely as it flowed down the sidewalk. We got to the ride and went right on. We walked right into the ride four times before we had to leave the area to go eat lunch at 50's Prime Time (we had reservations).

It is a sin to close your eyes on this ride LOL!!!!! To get the most of it keep them open and watch the signs of the road and enjoy the "magic" of it lol.

I have ridden it many times with my glasses. I can't guarantee that you won't have a problem with them but I highly doubt you will have one. Since this ride is very visual and I can't see far away I chose to keep them on and did not regret it.

I love Rock and Rollercoaster, i just wish the music would be louder. I know each car has 9 subwoofers and a large number of speakers. My car has 1 subwoffer and only 4 speakers and is MUCH louder. I know they could turn up the volume, although I am sure many people would not like much louder... but I would

Funny story

My mom rode the RnR 3 times. She was 73 at the time. Yes I said 73. We took her with us in 03 and she loves riding any type of thrill ride. It was really funny that I pushed her up in her wheelchair, and then she loaded into the car. People were asking if my mother was going to ride this , I said sure!! When the ride ended, my mother was getting out of her car and people were cheering . She said that was one of the best rides she had ever been on because she loved the musis playing while riding upside down.

And if your wondering yes, she rode ToT 3 times also.

I have been on many roller coasters that are taller, faster, scarier and more intense, but RnR is still my favorite coaster of all time. It is well designed and the music is a perfect addition. Plus the headbanging against the headrests is not as bad as it is on other similar coasters.

My favorite experience on RnR was the time that I was riding it and everyone was screaming like crazy. Meanwhile, I'm sitting there playing air guitar while the train was in a corkscrew.

I am going to do this for the first time next May. I carry a backpack with my camera equipment in it. Can I securely hold onto this while riding RnR?

I agree with the rest of you! AWESOME!!!!
I just returned a couple of weeks ago from Disney - our first trip. I thought RnR was the best...I am a huge Areosmith fan, also. My children (DD6 & DS11) backed out at the last minute (when they saw & heard the car take off) but my DH & I rode. What a blast!! The kids saw how much we loved it (and that we survived) so they said we have to ride it. They mustered up their courage and rode it. That is all they have talked about since we got home.
The take off is incredible - the best part for me.

To: bytheblood I think your camera equipment will be find if you can place the backpack between your feet or behind a leg and hold the bag in place. I know all of our stuff was OK and I had 2 cameras in my backpack. Have fun!!

I can't wait until our next trip...this will be our first ride at MGM.

I first rode the RNR during our last trip in 2003. I have rode on Space Mountain on previous visits and was curious how it compared. I asked a kid (12ish) in front of us in line and he said "Space Mountain is lame next to this." I'd never thought of SM as being lame but would agree RNR is a step up.

As far as glasses, I wore my and did not have any problems.

As far as backpacks, I stuck mine down at my feet and it was fine.

Back in five days!

My DH declared this to be his new favorite roller coaster. I must admit I did not buy the picture because I looked like a total goober in it. In fact, after telling his family about it, they now want to come to WDW with us next year. They thought Disney just had "kiddie" rides!
