Rock n Roller Coaster Rocks!

I've never been on this ride and am another huge chicken. Could someone walk me through the ride and tell me what it is like? Is the take off like the take off of the Roller Coaster at DisneyLand's California Adventure park...where the cars are stopped on a flat surface and then there's a sudden and extremely rapid excelleration?

Thanks!

I love Rock 'n' Rollercoaster, I go into Disney Studios ESPECIALLY for it :teeth: It's so cool! Not as good as Space Mountain Mission 2 though noooo way

This is one of the many new (or atleast new since I've been) rides that I'm looking forward to riding... I can't Wait!

For those of you that are interested there is a near clone of RnR. Pictures are at http://www.rcdb.com/ig769.htm?picture=8. The sight mentions the main difference is that it is a little more "Spacious" design due to slightly higher speeds (less weight in the trains because it has no sound system). It does though have the same elements in the same order.

Jolly43 - The way the restraints on RnR work is based on a ratcheting design. During the ride you can pull them tighter but you can't make them looser. What probably happened is that you were pulling it in yourself to just before the next click. As you relaxed your arms, the restraint would loosen towards the next lock point. On some rides the distance between clicks can be quite large (a couple of inches on the far end). I had the same problem (sort of) on Raptor here in Ohio. I didn't feel like I was in secure enough so I pulled in on the restraints. In my case, I was able to get that extra click and I could barely breath. So in that one click went from feeling a little loose to feeling way too tight. What I do to make sure I am locked in after I pull down on the restraints, I try to push them back up again. Occationally, It will not complete lock in that position and when I push out it will pop out 1 click sometimes even during the ride. This happens mainly when you try to really force yourself into the restraint. You get that extra click but it doesn't fully engage. I ride roller coasters all the time and while it doesn't happen often, it does happen from time to time. That's why most places require at least 2 or 3 clicks on the restraint. Hope you try the ride again.

RAPTOR! Oh how I miss Cedar Point since I moved out of the Cleveland area in 1998. Raptor was the last coaster I was on until I fell in love at first flight with Rock n' Roller Coaster. I love roller coasters. I'd read about RnR's initial 2.8 second acceleration to 60 mph, but NOTHING can describe that feeling. In that 2.8 seconds I went from "Oh sh*t why the hell did I do this?" to "I've never had so much fun in my life!" The ride was absolutely amazing. My wife and I opted not to buy the souvenir photo because both of us had our eyes closed and sported Don King hair.

I'm a Rock n' Roller Coaster worshipper for life.

I rode RnR before I rode Space Mountain. Finally got around to trying Space Mountain this trip and I won't bother again -- too jerky. RnR is much more comfortable.

You're going so fast and pressed against your seat that you don't have to worry about your glasses OR the inversions.

I'm a roller coaster scaredy cat -- still haven't ridden Big Thunder Mountain or Splash Mountain (I get weak kneed just looking at that Splash drop! Wee little kids have a blast on it, but I can't possibly do it!). But RnR was fine. It's the drops that terrify me. In RnR you're going so fast and it's so dark that you don't have time to fear them before they're over.
