Rock n' Roller Coaster: How much more intense than Expedition Everest?

My experience is EE is just as intense but in a different way. The take off on RR is intense but the rest of the ride to me is really fun not scary at all. I guess because of it being in the dark. I think the speakers playing the music really adds to it. The backwards part of EE for me was kind of scary. More disorienting. So, I would consider that if you are prone to motion sickness.
Hope this helps!!
I can't wait to ride both multiple times in December:yay::yay:

The 1st inversions on RnR are pointless because its so dark you don't realize you are going upside down...it's the same "feeling" as the backwards part of EE (that kinda feels like you are going upside down)

This is my thought exactly. I generally barely notice that we're going upside down until the loop is over. I have a hard time saying which is more intense but I also just intensely love both of them :lovestruc

It's hard to compare RnR to the other rides because it's simply different. If you have been willing to give the others a try, then I think you should give it a go. The start is pretty intense but it's over in a few seconds and you barely notice the inversions and loops after that.

I love rollercoasters, but will only do RnR once per trip because like a previous poster said, it jars my head around a lot in the corkscrews and gives me a headache. No matter how hard I try to keep my head back and still, my ears get banged off the side of the overhead restraint. I can't imagine how some people don't know they are going upside down.

Its kinda too bad. You go on Space Mountain, and think "this would be even better if you went upside down!" ....and that's RnR. Perhaps RnR would be better if it also had the ceiling star field, at least during the 1st loops

I think RnR is more intense. I ride both rides every time we go and I get anxiety with RnR but not with EE, even though it goes backwards and I tend to get motion sick when I go backwards. I don't think EE is that intense at all. I think Tower of Terror is more intense than RnR.

All that being said, RnR is my absolute favorite ride. I hope you decide to do it! Let out a quick breathe before take off and it won't feel so bad.

I encourage you to try RNR...I'm not a big coaster fan, but I did end up enjoying RNR. EE was okay, and I was proud of myself for riding it, but in my opinion, the G-force was more noticeable. I was terrified of the launch on RNR, but, as everyone says, it really is so quick that it isn't a huge deal. Inversions and corkscrew weren't that scary either. Now, if I could just talk myself into TOT!

Thanks everyone! I was thinking the same if I should go on or pass as I did on previous trips! Think this is the last rollercoaster to conquer! Can't wait!

Hope you try it at least once. As others have said, I don't even notice RnR going upside down but I know it does. The first time I rode EE I did think it went upside down in the dark part after beginning to go backwards but a CM at the end of the ride told me it just curves really quickly. I actually feel it in my stomach (not a puke way but a pressure way) a lot more on EE and I don't really think I feel the loop much at all on RnR.

I love both rides and my husband and I were able to go on RnR around the time of this post (early September) twice in about 15 minutes total after walking into HS around 2 p.m. I went on EE six times over two different days. I would have ridden both rides more but we had other things we wanted to see and do.

I don't know how RnR coaster compares to Disneyland's California Screamin', but they both have inversions. I love SpaceMountain and EE but was worried about the inversion on Screamin'. After lots of encouragement from people who said it was no big deal, I rode Screamin'. Once. Never again. The inversion made me feel really terrible, too much pressure in my head, and wicked nauseated. Given what happened to me, at least I wouldn't recommend riding first thing in the morning!!

During my WDW adventures, I've ridden Space Mountain once, SDMT once, RNR twice, Tower of Terror four times, Big Thunder five times, and Expedition Everest 13 times. EE and Big Thunder are the only ones that I really love. RNR isn't all that intense for me, but I just don't feel it's as comfortable or fun as EE and Big Thunder. Space Mountain is the only one I hated and am very reluctant to ride again.

DS 11 has done every coaster at WDW except RnRC and wants to give it a try on our upcoming trip. Any thoughts on how big the lines are at the end of a not-very-busy day (a 3 on touring plans)? We are using our tier 1 FP+ for TSMM.

We just got back (yesterday) from our trip and I recommend you do RnRC first thing in the morning...the wait was 10 minutes not long after rope drop. When we came out, the wait was 30 minutes, but it moved a little faster than that. The wait was also minor at the very end of the day, close to park closing.

Update: My son and I FINALLY talked ourselves into doing TOT!!! We didn't love it, but it really wasn't as bad as we had anticipated. We are so proud of ourselves!

Congrats!

We are going to HS late in the day (MK at rope drop) so we'll probably ride RnRC last.

The worst part is waiting for the train to launch. As the rest if the track is in the dark you don't really know what direction you're going in, which is a good thing as can't worry about it then!

I'd agree with this take.......but would add the initial launch is fast.......not as fast as I thought it was gonna be but still fast. The dark makes it a lot like Space Mountain........with corkscrews. If you can handle SP and EE than this shouldn't be that big a jump..........:confused3

You have to do it. It's a Great ride. I Love the takeoff the best. It took me awhile to decide to ride it but I'm so glad I did. It's one of my favorites. Everest is my number 1 ride, hoping to get a chance to ride it more than once. Before FP+, we would ride it 8 times in a row. I don't do amusement park coasters, but I do love all of Disney's coasters! I do not like SpaceMountain because it's just too rough. Not fond of TOT, but I do it once every trip.
