Rock 'n' Roller Coaster--Fact or Rumor?

I found several posts on other forums and websites. Maybe it is true.

Aerosmith Rockin Roller Coaster name change
A friend of mine is a cast member and he works the Rockin Roller coaster at Hollywood Studios. He heard that once the contract with Aerosmith is over they are not renewing it and want to change the name of the coaster. They want it to be Disney branded with a Disney movie or star. The rumor is Hannah Montana is to replace Aerosmith as the star of the ride. I can see it now the "Hannah Montana Sparkle Express". LOL. Don't be suprised if Aerosmith no longer at some point will be associated with this ride.

Yeah, I actually thought that this was a revival of the old thread when I saw it the other day. This is one of those I believe it when I see it type things.

i think the idea would be ridiculous...i'm going to post this Walt Disney quote since I seem to recite it whenever i hear these stupid rumors...

"You're dead if you aim only for kids. Adults are only kids grown up, anyway." - Walt Disney.

I have been around Disney and Disney Parks all my life they do this kind of changing all the time. If Disney changes RnR and get rid of Aeorsmith my prediction is that they will keep the name w/o Aerosmith. They will then keep the preshow and take out the band and their manager and replace them with a ficticious band. They will then fill the ride with real music that will be both rock but also cost effective.

i agree. would be less painful and less money that way

Just had a thought -- what if they turn it into American Idol themed. :scared1:

that is one of the best rides at WDW! Boo to Hannah Montana and double boo to Jonas Brothers. Keep the Aerosmith RNR!

That's the same thing I heard!! I believe it 100%!!
Disney owns the rights of Hanna Montana and the Jonas Brothers, thus probably won't have to pay them the royalties they pay Aerosmith (I don't know all of these details) but it would make the attraction more Disney-like...and many young girls will be thrilled. I love RRC, don't get me wrong, and I love Aerosmith, but we are coming into a new age. These young kids are into different things and Disney is all about keeping up to date and thinking of their audience. I bet the attraction will be an instant hit for teens/tweens and their parents. Older guests will be disappointed I would guess.

Hopefully if the refurb they put in a mute button for the music in the car... talk about something that will cause more protein spills!

I have an obsessed Jobro fan in my house who wants you to know that the Jonas Brothers are not owned by Disney. They "participate" with Disney but have a record deal with Hollywood records. I think this rumor is really debunked anyhow.

Excuse me if anyone has already said this, I don't have time to read the whole thread as I'm about to go on a date(!), butttt...
I think that Disney would have to be out of their minds to make anything with Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers permanent. I mean, they are really just another one of the Disney Channel's phases.
I remember when Lizzie McGuire was what Hannah Montana is today and you never heard anything about an attraction about Lizzie.
Pretty soon Miley is going to drop her contract with Disney beacuse bigger things will be coming her way, the same thing that happened to Hilary Duff.

If the Rock n Roller Coaster was anything but Aerosmith I would be upset though. I am a HUGE Aerosmith fan and have always had a secret crush on Steven Tyler and his big lips.
Oops, guess it's not a secret anymore...

Needless to say, RnR Coaster is a great ride. I especially love the pre-show with Steven Tyler and company. I don't think that even Disney would stoop to such a level to put a tween fad band on one of their staple attractions. The Jonas Brothers might not even be relevant in 5 years while Aerosmith will be.

and the majority of Hannah and Jonas fans are between the age of 7 and 13. Kids of those ages will not ride a roller coaster like RNR.

Just had to comment on this for my son. He will be 7 in a few weeks and he can't wait to ride RNR. He wasn't tall enough last Nov. and he was so dissapointed. He's pretty close now so we're hoping he'll make it before our Oct. trip. He LOVES all coasters and has no fear whatsoever.

This isn't really relevant to the original topic since he's not a JB or HM fan. He could care less what music is playing. He just wants the ride. I love the ride and would still ride no matter what but I too hope they leave it alone. I'm not a big fan of Aerosmith but they fit the ride perfectly.

Then we would have the Rock N Roller Coaster bus with all of Bret Michaels h*s and then Disney would have to check ID's because they couldn't let anyone under 18 in (anyone over 18 wouldn't want to go in). If there were anyone willing to ride they would have to offer showers at the end because they would fell gross after the ride. I just don't think it would be an economical solution.

NOTE TO SELF>>>> you are watching way to much of The Soup

Hey....There are still a few of us old people who would love to ride the Poison Coaster. Ok, maybe it's just me but that's OK too. No lines. :lmao:

You may want to inform your Jonas Brothers fan that he/she is greatly mistaken and in fact that Hollywood Records is OWNED by Disney. Disney owns them lock, stock and barrel.

We continue to pray this rumor is wrong and aren't subjected to terrible music on Rock n Roller coaster.

To be fair, Lizzie McGuire was NEVER as big as Hannah Montana is. Hannah Montana out earns McGuire by a TON.

But that wasn't even my point. What I was saying was that it's just a fad. In the next few years, Hannah will be done and Disney will be trying to find their next big hit.

THAT is very true. IMHO, if they change this, it will be in the same vein as the Universal roller coaster... You select which song you want and it plays on the ride.

Or a new famous band.

im a 16yr old boy and i absolutely love aerosmith! and their perfect for this ride! but if it cant be them what about Motley Crue? Poison? Bon Jovi? Def Leppard? or what i'd really love to see but it is IMPOSSIBLE old Guns N' Roses? id love that, just some 80's hair metal band I mean there is already the Los Angeles theme to it

not gonna lie i'm a jonas fan (not an insane one like most but i listen to them here and there and have been to a concert of theirs) but i would NOT..repeat NOT..want them to take over rnr...along w/ hannah. I agree with some other posts that young kids who are fans wouldn't go on the ride. maybe get thru the pre show than walk out into the "alley" and see the ride and not make it any farther :scared1:
not even relating to fans/etc...how would the music connect w/ the ride? in my personal opinion i dont' think any hannah/jonas song would fit the edge of the ride.

kinda upsetting hearing this...and even more upsetting if it actually happens :crazy2:
