Robin Williams has passed away...

OMG I just heard this.....I'm and soooo soooo sad!!!

I think he may have had manic depression. It just makes you wonder what circumstance caused this outcome. It just fills everyone with questions. I really feel for his family and close friends.

I am so heartbroken....heartsick over this.

He added so much laughter and joy to me. Genie, Doubtfire, Birdcage, Hook. So so sad.
So much sadness in the world right now.

Unfortunately, if you have manic depression, there really does not need to be anything major circumstance to cause that outcome. It is so sad and it seems all of the funniest people I know or love are the ones dealing with this depression. I think they use comedy to mask it.

RIP Robin.....

I just can't believe it. So sad. It is especially sad when those to make others laugh are so deeply depressed themselves.

I was really hoping someone had fallen for an internet hoax when I saw the title, so sad. He was a great actor and hilarious comedian but will always be remembered as Peter Pan to me.

I wondered about the depression, too. I haven't seen the latest show he was in but when I would see him on late night tv, he always seemed so sad and it was so difficult for him to "be on".

So terrible that he couldn't reach out to someone. :sad1:

I heard this today ....so tragic, what a loss.
The world just got a sadder place.:sad1:

Yeah, and I think when he was "on" he was on a "high" swing of bipolar. It's just so very sad.:sad1:

Williams was bipolar. Unfortunately, many people with this disease begin feeling better and quit taking their medications. They will then he get manic or depressed. It gets harder to treat. Plus he was an alcoholic which adds fuel to an already very hot fire.
I am not saying he got off of his meds but many who do end up committing suicide.

He struggled with alcohol and cocaine, but had been sober for about 20 years - until he checked himself back into rehab last month (reportedly due to alcohol).

In any case, a very tragic loss of a great actor.
