hey everyone! DBF is a big Robin Hood lover. I know he's not super popular, he's pretty rare around the parks- but where & when have you seen him before? Has anyone ever seen any Robin Hood merchandise anywhere in Disney? Anything at all with Robin Hood will be greatly appreciated :confused3

We ran into Friar Tuck in Adventureland next to the Dole Whip place. No one knew who he was and there was no line! We took pics & autographs. That's the only Robin Hood character we've seen.

Robin Hood isn't a Disney character. Does anyone know otherwise?

Disney's Robin Hood was an animated feature released back in the 60's, if memory serves. It was one of my favs growing up.

Robin Hood was a fox, Little John a bear, Prince John a lion, the Sheriff a wolf, and Friar Tuck a badger or something.

We've seen Friar Tuck and Robin Hood often in parades and less often in Fantasyland.

Yes it is. It was an animated film made in 1973. Robin Hood was a fox. Little John a bear. Prince John was a lion. It was one of my favorite Disney movies as a kid, and DD still watches it all the time.

Disney does have an animated Robin Hood film made in the early 70s. All of the chararters are aniamls. Robin and Maid Marian are foxes, Little Joh is a bear, Marian's lady in waiting, Lady Cluck, is a chicken....

We have a Robin Hood pin and ran into Robin in Epcot several years ago.

Yes, Robin Hood is a Disney character - see my avatar.

Robin Hood pins are the #1 theme that I collect, but they are fairly tough to find. There is very little other merchandise to be had.

Friar Tuck and Prince John are the easiest RH characters to meet, but on rare occasions, you can find the fox himself! Check the link in my sig for the character finder, it contains locations where these guys (and all Disney characters) have been recently spotted.

Robin Hood, Friar Tuck, Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham are all extremely rare characters, but they do still appear every now and then. Ask a CM when you arrive at a park and they should be able to find out if any of the characters will be appearing that day.

The former Village Fry Shoppe in Fantasyland was recently renamed The Friar's Nook after Friar Tuck. Hopefully that means the Robin Hood characters will begin making more frequent appearances in the area. :)

I found this link with the history of Disney's Robin Hood:

I am sad to say that I have never seen a Robin Hood Character.
Now that I think of it, my DD loves this movie too. I hope that we will have the chance to sneak a peek at these awesome characters during our next visit! Wonder if they will introduce the characters when the movie is out of the vault... any idea when that is? Hmm.. This is interesting

In the summers we have seen Robin Hood in Epcot on the future world side of the world showcase between the two stores, usually in the afternoon, a number of times

Not that this is helpful for you but Robin Hood and Friar Tuck are regularly seen at Disneyland Paris.

I remember having dinner with King John in the Castle at MK back in 1987 - he kept threatening to chop off our heads :rotfl2:

Its a shame these characters aren't out more often: I know most people my age fondly remember the film!!

I have seen Robin Hood before - hmm Not sure if I have digital pictures, depends on how long ago it was. I'll take a gander :)

I have a Robin Hood signature in my old autograph book. He signed it with one of the O's in Hood being a target, with an arrow going to the center! Coolest autograph I have.

I haven't seen Robin Hood but have seen other characters from the movie in the teardrop near Toontown. We were quite lucky, we just got off the train and there they were with a heap of others.

I ran into RobinHood himself one trip back in 2003. As I entered the MK, he was on the left, right as Main Street starts. He was very dashing, and he kissed my hand! I also have my picture with Prince John from back in 1997. He was inside a building somewhere in Toon Town. Please forgive the picture quality. They're old film pics scanned into the computer!

oo de lolly!

one of my all-time faves. i was ecstatic on my first wdw trip to see robin hood & friar tuck near the hat in DHS (MGM) back in 2002, but even better was seeing prince john in AK (he was with a group of other villains including gov. ratliffe and capt. hook and jafar).

the film was wonderful. country singer roger miller wrote all the music (and played the part of the rooster, allan-a-dale (a minstrel). roger miller was best-known for writing/recording the song "King of the Road" and a bunch of silly songs as well ("you can't rollerskate in a buffalo her" and "chug-a-lug" and "kansas city star" and others). he also wrote the broadway musical "Big River" based on huck finn.

Wow! Thanks so much for all your replies. I want to meet the fox himself this summer..I will search dilligently for him! I think a lot of people truly love Robin Hood and it's a shame that it is one of the most overlooked Disney movies!
