Hello Disney Fans,

Not sure if this the right thread to post in, but was wondering if there are any articles/information on how Aerosmith got involved with the RNRC at DHS? Any tips/feedback would be great!

Thanks!

I heard that the Rolling Stones were Disney's original choice for the ride but they wanted too much money.

Although I like the rolling stones, I'm glad it was Aerosmith. And I'm sorry, I don't know.

I heard that Disney negotiated with both the Stones and U2 (not sure in which order, or if it was at the same time) but both wanted too much, so they went with Aerosmith.

I don't know how true any of that is, though -- that's just the story often passed around on different Web sites, so I wouldn't call that the "official version" or anything.

I don't consider Aerosmith to be an. "all time" band like the stones.
Having said that I love the ride!

Well, Aerosmith is arguably the greatest "all time" American band for what it's worth.

I would argue that the Butthole Surfers are the greatest "all time" American band.

You may not, but they are the #1 record selling American rock band of all time.

Actually, the Eagles have them beat by about 40 million albums.

#2 isn't bad though.

I think it's a matter of interpretation as to "most #1 record selling American rock band of all time" means. Singles? Albums? Most #1s ever?

Eagles and Aerosmith are, in my opinion, vastly different bands with vastly different styles. I really don't see a thrill ride in any theme park blaring Eagles songs while you are whipping through an LA freeway. Maybe a Hotel California theme but then everyone would be discussing what the lyrics really mean.

The stat I read was for total album sales...

But i LOVE that description of an Eagles ride :rotfl: Totally agree that Aerosmith is perfect for RnRC..and love the three different soundtracks that you can get while riding. I could never see this ride done with any other band...may it never change!!

(off topic...it IS cool though that you can pick your own songs to listen to on the coaster at Universal..neat stuff)

I'm glad that they got Aerosmith, I read somewhere in one of the many Disney trip planning/facts/secrets books that I have that when Disney tried to get in touch with Steven Tyler to talk to him about RNRC that he was on vacation at Disney at the time. I thought that was cool.

VERY cool... when the darned thing is working!

I love the songs on the "secret" menu... that ride + "Immigrant Song" = awesome.
