RNR Refurb

At minimum, I hope they open it back on the 10th. I have HS scheduled for earlier date and can't move around due to my ADR at 50s and Sci Fi but thanks to my hopper tickets, I can go first thing in the morning on 10th or 11th before going to another park. This will be my last trip for a long time so I really hope they open it at 10th!

Something is always closed for us every trip, we'll just ride it next time. Though it does seem odd to have two coasters down at the same time, unless it's just so they both reopen in time for the holiday crowds.

It is really LOW to announce this closure so late. If it's just a regular required maintenance why didn't they have it announced WELL BEFORE the 60 days FP windows?! I'm with everyone else here - No Rivers of Light, No Main Street Electrical Parade, No Rockin Roller Coaster, and No Thunder Mtn Railroad. And the only one we knew about when we booked the trip was Thunder Mtn. Well at least we may be able to squeeze in a Studios day prior to Oct 27. They better not move the date any earlier. :(
Bummer - now no Star Wars fireworks for our planned Studios day/night either - Tu 10/25. Looks like they are only going to be certain days/nights in Oct.

But don't worry, even if you have a vacation package, you can cancel and reschedule your reservations even if it's within 45 days of your scheduled arrival with no penalty.....oh wait, sorry about that. Only WDW gets to change things that close to your arrival.

Any chance that maybe Big Thunder is going to come back online sooner than expected?

I live in Orlando and from the time I go out my front door until I'm parked at any Disney or Universal park is 15 minutes. I always go with my nephew. He loves coasters, so we always do Space Mountain and BTMR. But he gets dizzy and won't go on BTMR or Space Mt. but once. So I said that I would go by myself when the high season was over. Now here I am planning this entire week at the parks. And BTMR and Dinosaur are closed. (Both make him dizzy) I would have made a point to ride these repeatedly if they had been available.

The bright side, I can ride EE as much as I want. RNRC too.

Sorry, but this is just not acceptable. An attraction the caliber of RNR should rarely, if ever be down for more than a few days, unless a safety issue requires it. Especially since such a large part of the park is already down and another major attraction at the Resort will be down at the same time. They should have an army of maintenance people descend upon the attraction nightly to do routine inspections and maintenance to keep interruptions down to a bare minimum.

Really disappointed, I don't know if we will ever have a chance to go back.
I do feel sad for folks like you because of the quote above. :( WDW is a very expensive vacation and many folks don't get to visit more than 1 once. We're going with my brother and his family (of 4) and even with my wife and I covering their room and MVMCP tickets they'll still spend close to 5K.........that's a lot of money!

Unfortunately refurbs are always a dark cloud hanging over any WDW vacation. It really stinks when its major rides like BTMRR and RnR..........alas what can you do but work around it. WDW is more than a couple of rides.............it's an experience. Take it all in..............in the end you're vacation can still be magical if you look to make it magical pixiedust:

Have a wonderful and magical vacation!

Yes exactly. Totally understand that there may be a ride or a few down - it just seems like a lot of the biggies are down at the same time! Praying Everest doesn't go down while we are here!

On the upside, I will say we are here now and everything has been amazing so far!

I would agree the refurb schedule is a bit schizophrenic this year...........glad you're having a good time!!
