So say i'm going to the port orleans riverside. I read in so many reviews about what rooms to stay in. What i got out of it was to stay in magnolia blend, on the second floor, and to get a corner room that has two windows. Is this right or not? Please come again with your opinions on what building and room to stay in at the river side. thanx to all
chase :earsboy:

P.s. What i'm looking for in a room is for it to be quiet and a great view.

A second floor corner room would be great, the view will depend upon location and if you are willing to pay extra for a water-view room. In any case, remember that you can request a certain type of room or location, and they will try to accomodate, but it is NOT guaranteed.

While I love POR to pieces, I really don't think there is a room there with a really great view. We have had water view rooms twice now...once in AB and once in MB. AB we had a limited view of a quiet pool and in MB, we had to go out to the outside corrider before we could peek at the river. I wouldn't try to get a room with a view. I would try for a king bed room on a corner. I believe that a lot of the king bed rooms are on that corner section.

I would go with any of the mansion bldgs but away from the back parking lot behind MB. Top floor. We were on the second floor and I think we had a family of rhinos above us the whole time.

We had Room 8030 which was a ground level, non-smoking, King bed, garden view room next to a corner room. We thought this was a very quiet room. When we booked, my DW requested a King bed room but a standard view. We were given a comp upgrade to the garden view. Like another poster mentioned, you can request something but there is no guarantee you will get it. You can request the Mansions but still get a room in the AB section and vice-versa. I guess it all depends on the CM's and how busy the resort is.

The room that you describe is my idea of THE perfect room also. However, after staying at POR (Dixie Landings to me :bitelip: ) at least 25 times, we have never gotten that room. We have gotten rooms with parking lot view, rooms with queen beds with riverview, rooms with king bed with a garden view....the list goes on.

As was mentioned above, don't set yourself up for dissapointment. It really is a great resort, and unless they make you sleep out in the parking lot, the room you get will be nice.

Also keep in mind that what may be a great room to one person is a horrible room to another. These boards are great for planning our trips but don't get too caught up in overplanning.

If you prefer a certain section AB or Mansions then request that but overplanning will only cause disappointment.

POR is a great resort - enjoy your stay - regardless of which room you're assigned.

P.S. we were in Magnolia Mansion, parking lot view and the room was great for us.

To the best of my knowledge, there are only double beds or a king in the POR rooms. Also, there are only two room views....standard and water. Standard view can be of a garden, walkway, or a parking lot. Water view can be of the river, canal, or a pool. I believe the king beds cost about $10 extra a night, as do the water view rooms. You get a good thing if you can snag a king water view room.
