Hi guys! Not long now :cool1:

I have ben reading a lot of UK trip reports recently and noticed that many of you staying at OKW use the Riverside food court a lot.

Is it worth the drive over? We usually stick to Goods to Go but the menu for Riverside looks better.

Is it easy to find?

How is DDP for breakfast and dinner - good choice?

All my best,

Kathryn

It is really easy to get to take a left out of OKW then do a right at the lights and it is on the right. French Quarter is first, Riverside second.

Never eaten there though. If we wanted something quick we grabbed it to go from Goods or I cooked in the room.

Personally we never traveled to POR for food - if we wanted something more than Goods offered we would jump on the boat to DTD. In fairness though, we did not have a car.

In terms of breakfast we bought some bread & bagels and a tub of philladelphia so we could have a breakfast snack with fresh coffee in our rooms.

However - we would travel to POFQ to get some Beignets mmmmm (I am salivating just thinking about them!!)

We went to POFQ for beignets a couple of times when staying at OKW but wouldn't have gone there for quick service food. Would rather have caught the boat to DTD and gone to WPE or EOS.

I was worried i might sound weird saying we'd go go for Beignets but not for dinner... clearly others think the same!! :rotfl2:

Spent 53 days at OKW and never eaten at Goods to Go, far better places around.
We drive everywhere for lunch, eaten multiple times at both Port Orleans food courts, just a 3 minute drive. Next nearest is DTD for Wulfgang Puck Express, takes a little longer or out to the Mara at AKL, about 20 min drive. These are our 4 fave places for lunch.
They all do more or less same for lunch or evening dinner, just slightly more choice at one of the PO food courts with a meat & veg option after 4pm.

Don't eat breakfast to know what they offer, everyone seems to complain about options for breakfast so glad we don't eat it.

We went to POFQ from OKW by car - just round the corner.

Was our first night and we fancied a pizza - for 2 QS credits we got a 16 inch pizza cooked to order, 2 drinks and 2 desserts. Goods to go didn't have this option.

We stay at OKW two or three times a year and always make a few trips to POR food court.

Our favourites are the 'select your own ingredients' salads, which are really delicious because of the great ingredients and dressings on offer. Also, the apple blossom al la mode (warm apple pie with ice cream) is one of our favourite desserts at WDW. They also do a create your own pasta option (a box of which is ample for 2, or maybe even 3 people!).

We like POR food court during the day, when it's not busy, and you can get a table looking over the water, or outside if the weather's right :). I don't like the food court at POFQ nearly so much, although they were giving the building a facelift in January so maybe it will have improved. Fewer food options but agree that the beignets are worth a try.

The coffee at POR is just as bad as from all other food courts at WDW IMO :crazy2:

And just more proof that we are all so different, I've read great things about Wolfgang Puck at DD on here and whilst it was ok when we went, I doubt we would go back. I like the food at Earl of Sandwich, but it's always so hectic, it never feels like a 'dining experience', which it can actually be at POR food court. We usually go along, with a newspaper, and dine at leisure.

Give it a try at least. As others have said, if you have a car you can be there in a couple of minutes.

Another vote for POR :thumbsup2
5 minutes from OKW and you can be eating.
DTD by boat is not an option for me when I am hungry.... takes far too long
Car is always first choice of transport except when planning on a few drinks :woohoo:
Can't see the point of paying for a car and not using it ;)
