Just wondering , who would R
EALLY miss this ride if it were replaced? I don't mean would you like to see a new ride in Mexico, just if you would really miss the river of time. My DW placates me each time we go to the world showcase and begrudgingly rides it with me. I personally think it's one of the most relaxing and cute rides at WDW. What say you?

I personally love this ride Sure, it's a little cheesy, but it's very relaxing and cute too. I love the song, lol (now it's going to be in my head all night!). So, yes, I'd miss it if it was gone!! My boyfriend and I go on it at least a few times every time we go to WDW.

I had read rumors that it is being updated. Don't know when, but....
Agree -- cheesy, but I like it. It's relaxing and I like the fireworks in the ceiling.
Splash would be showing it's age and looking cheesy too if it weren't for music and the drop.
I rode IaSW for the first (and only) time in October. Talk about a ride that needs rehab and refurbishing.

I read a trip report a few years ago and the author described El Rio Del Tiempo as "It's a Small World on Acid".

That still makes me laugh I love it though, I like it more than It's a Small World, that's for sure

Oh...I'd miss it horribly if it went away!! I'm sure you'll think I'm goofy when I tell ya that we ride it many times in a trip!

Yes...it's cheesey, but it's WONDERFUL!

It's relaxing and cute....I love that music!! We always have a dinner at San Angels and we arrive plenty early so we can ride the boats atleast a couple of times before our pager goes off...then after dinner we'll shop the market area there!

LOL! now you've got me thinking...what little 'bits' do I always take note of on the ride? I love the enterance with the 'fog'...and those dancing skeletons musicians....and on the left that place where your looking at a bar where the guests are sitting in a pool while at the bar....Mrs.G always jokes about how "the same people" are always "still there"

While I wouldn't want the ride to go away, I would want it updated. The ride is horribly outdated. The video of the vacationers towards the end of the ride looks like the beginning a 70's porno movie! Not only is it oudated, it is a shameless add for Mexican tourism. They could be a little more subtle about that.

ROFL Kath! I think it could use some updating too. Its not one of my favorite rides but we do go in once in a while. Its a good one to cool off in or just be able to sit back in the dark and relax.

River of Time is one of my favorite rides. It's one of the retro Disney rides. Like, Jungle Cruise or COP. I love these old fashioned rides and the memories they bring back of prior trips and times at WDW.
