Why can't I find any information for River Country? Is this a water park at WDW? I found a map of the place on a UK site.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks! :-)

River Country is a now closed WDW Water Park. It's no wonder you cannot find any info on it. They do not expect to open it back up as far as I know.

Having been to River Country long ago and more recently to the two others water parks, there is no comparison. River country was old and dated with a lake and beach plus a couple of other things. TL and BB are unbelievable with all they have to offer. It is no wonder than RC is closed. Just my opinion.

For those of us who stay at Fort Wilderness, it was very convenient, and much more fun than the FW pool. There is no swimming in the lake area at all, I have heard it was a bacteria control problem, but not sure. When i first heard it was closed permanently, I e-mailed Disney, and they replied that they felt the other two water parks were sufficient for their guests.

River Country may have been old and outdated, but it was a great park for families with small children who didn't want to be chasing their kids all over a huge water park all day long. I was so sad when it closed!

Hey, we just walked over to Fort Wilderness last night from the WL to see River Country. They have walls up around it but DH and I were able to sneek a peek. ;) It is a bit spooky (esp. at night when we were there) just rotting away!
