River Country??

Obviously I've been outa' the Disney Loop for too long! Why is River Country closed? Is it being refurbished?

You will hear a lot of reasons for it's being closed (everything from it's having dangerous bacteria to it's not being used enough to be profitable), but for now it is 'closed indefinitely'. I have heard a number of rumors about River Country possibly opening at some future date to Fort Wilderness guests only, but as far as I know there are no plans in place to open it again any time soon.

This is sad news. Granted, the last time I was there was around 21 years ago. It had just opened and I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. I have such happy memories of going down the water slide with my brother. I was hoping to someday take my kids there when they got bigger, since it was a managably sized water park. Oh well! Let's hope they reopen it.
