I do remember hearing of problems with keeping the water safe for swimming.. For any of you that went there if you ever swam over to the far side by the main lake, there was a barrier but the lake water would just slosh in and out of the river country water park area. So this does make sense to me.
It just breaks my heart to see the pictures of River Country in such a ghost town condition. I spent so so many very happy moments there. When I was a kid River Country was a one of a kind place! Living in NJ all my friends would talk about their visits to River Country for months after going! We all loved it! I wish my kids could have had the chance to go after hearing some of the stories of funny things that happened to their parents/grandparents there.
